- Join us this week as we have a conversation with Fran Skiles about all things art quilts and collage.
In the 1990’s, before making collage paintings, Fran made art quilts and exhibited them Nationally and Internationally. She now focusses on collage by layering photography, paint, ink, paper and fabric onto watercolour paper, fabric and wood.
We would like to thank Fran Skiles for sharing their time, artwork and knowledge with us.

For me abstract art gives a feeling which I get pretty much immediately. It's about seeing an image which immediately makes me overjoyed and excited. Whether it's marks, shapes or colours or all of it. It inspires and gives off positive vibes.
I’ve had the privilege of attending two workshops with Fran, and she has had a tremendous impact on my journey from a quilter to a mixed media artist. She is a great teacher and artist.
Enjoyed this. Love Fran's honest stories of her process!
THX!
