Multipass.
Yes she knows its a Multipass lol
LILU multipass!
"Anyways, we're in love!"
You deserve 2 scooby snacks for that comment.🍪🍪😌
Something I always found interesting is how the main hero"corbin dallas" and the one villian"zorg" never even met face to face throughout the movie. The closest they got was near the elevators of FLOSSDON PARADISE!🎤🎉😱
The fifth element is Love (because you had to give each of the stones a sample of what it represents, and Corben loved Leeloo to "activate" her), so the opposite of that would be Hate. So I posit that Mister Shadow is Hate. Simple as that.
Kronaz邪児 it would appear, Mr. Shadow is much more than just hate.
The opposite of love is fear.

Are you familiar with the concept of eros and thanatos? Love and Death.
@@bellamuerte2199 that's also a good idea.
One of the most rewatchable movies for me
Same here. It's one of those rare movies that I can never get tired of rewatching over and over. In fact one night a few years ago I watched it twice in one evening - that's how good it is!
Agreed.👍😄🍺
Same here..so much entertainment in one single movie!
Same here too!
same here, I think the problem is back then special effects were for the story, while in nowadays films ,story is secondary to the special effects
1:40 The great evil can communicate through satellite's but still has to go through a receptionist
xD
Lol
It's courtesy. Plus it gives Mr Shadow a reason to be "overbearing" on him. Kinda like a boss in the mafia or yakuza
In an alternate universe where Deebo is the president and Smokey is a bisexual rockstar.
That's my country now, punk!
Well, not really bisexual; more like camp straight. "A Camp Straight is a man who exhibits some or all of the common characteristics of a Camp Gay, but is clearly heterosexual." The things I learn from TV Tropes...
countessD84 yeah he was a wuss but very into women. Just also looked, sounded, and acted very wimpy of a man
Yaaas!
@@robertagu5533
Isn't the term for that Metrosexual? In that he behaves and acts like a gay stereotype, but is actually hetero beneath the facade?
I could never classify this thing until you said it
“A primordial being”
And boy is it the embodiment of True Evil
It is Hate that never cools, the long Shadow cast by our universe against the moldering sun of time. It surely had other names more poetic or subtle, but none of the civilizations that coined them survived to pass them on. It can never be destroyed, only pushed back and made to wait until its chains are broken... or are removed for it.
I like to think when mister shadow is talking to the secretary it sounds like a normal person, maybe even quite nervous but as soon as she patches it through Mr shadow changes its voice into the one we hear.
I like that idea but she seemed to nervous. But I know where your going. Like super creepy supernatural.
Naw..she's an idiot!..evil or not she does what's expected..I'm sure that this movie depicts ppl's IQ as much lower than nowadays..she does her nails..and probably sexy favors w out complaining..

The Great Evil can be seen as a Lovecraftian deity, because no ones knows his origins for sure, is a shame that his lore wasn't expanded upon. Wouldn't be great to have a planet side entity capable of great destruction where you don't know his origins or his objectives? That is a shadow that consumes and expand, with so huge power that no weapon made by aliens or man was capable of defeat him.
I always wonder how the great evil aka mr shadow got in contact Zorg in the first place
It sucked up all those satellites, and there was a line in the movie saying it could make a phone call.
It slid into his DM's.

Shadow: It's Shadow...
Zorg: Zorg here.
Shadow: Am I disturbing you?
Zorg: Oh no... no, no... I was... just... W-Where are you?
Shadow: Not far now.
Zorg: Good... good, good...
Shadow: How are the stones?
Zorg: Fine... fine, just fine... I'll, I'll have the... ah... I'll have the four stones you asked for anytime now... but, but it wasn't easy. My costs... have tripled.
Shadow: Money is of... no importance. I... want... the... STONES...
Zorg: The stones... will be here... I'll see to it personally...
Shadow: I will be among you... soon.
What was it going to do with them? It was going to absorb or obliterate earth either way and why couldn’t it just telepathically communicate with Zorg since it apparently had influence in him
Mr Shadow is Leeloo. That is why she has to fall in love to stop "him". She has to find a reason not to kill all of us every 5000 years.
I agree. Leeloo said in the last moments "there's no point.....here to protect death" the light in her can turn into darkness if she losses faith, hope and love for life.
"I am a meat popsicle" - Corbin Dallas
Watched this when I was a kid at approximately 7 years old, very fond of this movie, now I’m 21 years old and just finished watching it
The greatest original Sci-Fi Action Adventure of all time. Is also the perfect Friday night movie
I took this as, the 5th element was Love, embodied.
You should explain “Annihilation” by Jeff Vandermeer
The great evil knows how to play with human's greed
I think Leloo (however her name is spelled) is suppose to be the symbol of giving life since the 5th element in human form is a Woman, as the Great Evil takes lives.
You could mention that it finally turned into a moon so the first moon was mister shadow.?
The scientific analyses confirm that the Moon is composed of Earth's materials, so no need for this inaccuracy... Yes, I am fun at parties! 😝
Except Mister Shadow is tiny compared to the moon, it's only a mile up, and it has no orbital velocity. It's just gonna fall down.
Kronaz邪児 62 miles up actually
The life that existed around Earth in space probably didn't know what it was and engaged it making it grow a lot more ("Shooting it only makes it stronger"). Earth's forces during the events of the movie now had Cornelius's advice to not to fight it. The 5th Element probably made the corpse of Mr Shadow composed of Earth based minerals with its powers.
I always thought that although the supreme being contains the creative light to destroy Mr. Shadow or "chaos" the entity of disharmony, death and decay; that even if she has "darkness" in her or :no faith, no hope or no love to protect life she would ultimately give way to "evil" or death to happen for life. Korbin restored her hope in life that seems bent to self destruct itself in WAR and hate and reassured her that there are goods things still worth fighting for and putting faith into. Like love. Leeloo is female because women can foster life in them, like babies. And she is fragile and human like....or emotional (empathic) like women naturally are. A savior in love (Korbin) saves a savior of life (Leeloo). Ying and yang as harmony. Both supporting each ones weakness. Mr. Shadow as a "male" like entity in that males love to amass power and the affluence of it and Leeloo a "feminine" like entity in that females love to grow, nuture and shelter (protect) life.
Wonderful description :)
Mermaid man's. E V I L scream anyone?
EVIL, EVIL, EVILEVILEVILEVIL...(looks into water fountain, squirts eye)
The 1st movie my dad and me bonded with :’)
I really like this movie. It was also refreshing that the hero wanted that one woman and wasn't sleeping around. Real love.
5th ELEMENT!!!!!!!! This is one of the movies that got me into Syfy when I was younger Love it!!! Also how is their 24 dislikes????
When this movie first came out, I thought it was garbage. It has aged very well. Having caught some of it recently, I think it is great. When it first came out, there were movie posters calling it "the new Star Wars". In fact that was its billing. That is why it did so poorly.
Fifth Element was a good movie, I loved the cast. The MultiPass scene was really funny. Great video, thanks!
Arguably one of the greatest original sci fi movies ever made, still holds the test of time today, so out there in terms of style and soundtrack, seen it in the cinema 25 years ago, lived it then and love it even more now.. Superb.. Mathieu Kassovitiz as the hallway robber still one of the greatest cameos of all time, talk about getting a small role and making the most of it.. Genius 👌👌👌👌👌
They saved the Earth, but not really. Unless they have some way of removing the dead sphere of death its gravitational pull will screw up Earth's orbit....which would ultimately kill everything anyway.
It's the future and we didn't see what happened after the movie finished. I'm sure they had some futuristic device to destroy or remove it from Earth.
It's tiny and it's like a mile above the earth. It's gonna fall down in a matter of days (or more likely hours). Which will probably wipe out a city or two, but won't do anything to Earth's orbit.
Kronaz邪児 62 miles up
Great video as always! Have you ever thought of perhaps doing a character profile video where you talk about or delve into a character, for example Joel from the last of us? Just an thought 👍
Not yet, but I'll consider it, thanks for the suggestion :)
The real thing that needs to be explained about this movie is why Chris Tucker was so damn flamboyant looking 😂 have you ever thought of Jack of Blades from the fable series as a video 😁
The way I heard it the role was initially written to be played by Prince before he died.
@@HiroProtaganist ohhhh ok that makes sense, honestly I would crack up every time I saw him in a different costume each time so he was one of the best parts in the whole movie 😁
Yea he was definitely awesome in the movie. A lot of people didn't like him but I thought he was a perfect amount of absurd for the tone of the movie.
Jack of blades with Ruby's mannerisms and voice... omg 🤣🤣
@@titainx we need a good video and audio editor for that that sounds genius 🤣
One thing i dont understand about the movie since today is "In the first scenes we see the 5th element as a statue", and then 300 years later when they recover the pieces of DNA from the dead alien and its ship, they have a hand. A hand that wasnt from that statue, and that thing is the 5th element. What happened, can someone explain?
It wasnt a statue but a sarcophagus that she was contained in, probably in a sort of stasis
" Lilu dallas multipass "
I remember being six and before falling asleep I saw the mugger scene and for 11 years I’ve been looking for this movie and finally found it and I’m happy I did
why did it constantly try to come to Earth
Awesome analysis for a sci fi cult classic.
Given in the beginning of the film it is described as a snake I believe it could be Apophis the Egyptian god of chaos and darkness
Makes sense that the prophecy, stones and fifth element were in the Egyptian pyramid. The Egyptian goddess of balance and justice seems like an archtype of Leeloo.
I'm going to watch this picture after watching your great explain.
Nice!!!!
Do you have a patreon account? I don't have money to give, but I'm sure some people who love your content as much as I do might.
Yea he does have an account
Actually Fifth Element seems to be a similar story to 1981 Heavy Metal. A lot of similarities. A Sphere of evil, Harry Canyon was a cab driver as was Corbin Dallas. The only thing that could combat the evil, a woman Taarna and Leeloo. Zorg's costume was similar to the buzzsaw-handed villan Taarna fought near the end.
This one of my favorite movies. So nice to see you tackle it.
The Great Evil reminds me of Galactus from Marvel. XD
R.I.P. Ian Holm
This is my absolute favorite film of all time! I saw it in theaters when it was first released. And I saw it again in theaters 20 years later for the anniversary. I watch it often on Blu-ray, there are soo many good quotes. Please create more videos exploring this film.
I just finished watching this movie again. Loved it since I was a kid ☺️
One amazing movie to rewatch a true classic.
loved this movie, thank you
Same here.
Mr Shadow might as well be Sauron or Morgoth from LOTR
This reminds me of the loc nar in heavy metal 1980
"You save my life, and in return I'll spare yours...for now"
Heart is the 5th Element and it is activated by Love.
It is simple pure evil it did nothing but wanted to cause destruction and destroy everything the fifth element so ahead of its time and it’s one of my favourites
This film is about the battle of a pro-human future with emotions and where love still is valued, vs a non-human unfeeling, devoid of all emotion and love.
It’s a battle still being fought to this very day, and this film was ahead of its time.
Can you consider the wallrider from outlast on your list???
sure! i'll add it to the list now, thanks :)
Opera scene is the best bit of film
Let's make it all 2022 and royally fuck up everything it is, was and stood for!
The design of this movie is based on the works of the late French comic book artist Jean Mobieus Gerard, and was even hired by the director to bring his vision to life.
This was and still is one of my favorite movies I watched when I was younger
Did anyone else think it was hilarious that Zorg’s secretary is completely unfazed when she talks to Mr. Shadow?
I've never fully seen this film, but I admit you made me want to look for it
You must watch it!
I woke up from a nap to see that you replied oof am I dreaming still?
One of the best movies ever made and check Valerian: city of a thousand planets by the same guy. A spiritual prequel/sequel to the fifth element.
The great evil is a God of Destruction and the Fith element is a Kaioshin
As a kid this was such a great film watching it when im older made it even better. Hope more films can be as good as this.
Interesting that you deduced that the temple is not a unique structure. I have always thought it was unique due to the uniqueness of the stones and the fact that it was used to "send life into the farthest corners of the universe".
Thanks so much for all your videos, I love your channel
This was the only movie I watched as a kid
A great movie with an all star cast!!!! Milla was and still is a babe! GD the 90s had the best movies!!
I'm watching it right now... for the second time today 😃😃
my parents watch this every time it is on tv but i've never fully understood it or fully watched it
We are getting dangerously close to this movie coming a reality! People are trying to get The Rock as president, sooo I mean it's not that far of a stretch to think that this may be our future .
Reapers, Jack Harper... there's a lot of this movie in Mass Effect
if it takes love to activate the fifth element, that means she has done this to different men, every 5000 years. If she couldn't make them fall in love with her, humanity would be screwed. That's why she was made "perfect" or else men wouldn't desire her.
It's my personal belief that it is not aligned with the earth but always seeks it out as that is the location the Mondoshowan weapon which it can use to destroy everything in the universe. Before then it merely wandered destroying worlds one by one. This way it is locked in an eternal stalemate. It can never be destroyed because destruction is it's domain.
I so want another movie or tv show set in the Fifth Element universe. Not a sequel, prequel or remake, but a whole new movie set in this universe.
Niat hee with film comics explaind lol thats catchy.
I liked your thesis on this Movie
Symbolism is similar to The Last Airbender
How so?
@@jtgd the elements needing to work together with another which is basically heart/courage
One of my favorite movies when i was younger
One of the best movies ever made that came out of the 90s, it may not be the best with pacing or everything that people use to determine a great movie it may have plot holes but if a movie can always be rewashed without fast-forwarding then you got yourself a great movie rewatchability is what makes a great movie in my opinion
Everyone knows the fifth element is the Avatar's ability to take bending away.
I was just a kid when I seen this it’s so great and super underrated!
Big bada boom 💥 Great video as always.
i loved this movie when i was little
The Great Evil reminds me of the Profound Darkness from Phantasy Star.
So basically...it's kind of like Unicron?
reminds me of ghostbuster's 2 evil built up underneath the city
I grew up watching this movie, a cross between Star Wars, Dune, and Blade Runner!!😁
Another scifi. Nice!!!
One of the best movies ever.
I had never heard of this Prior to now, it looks pretty cool. Great video btw are the Titans from Attack on Titan or Titan fall on the list?
you must check it out! and yes thats on the list, thanks :)
This is a pretty awesome movie. Its got funny moments as well as a bit of action.
I never liked the fact they never bothered explaining why the Evil Fireball was intent on destroying life. Does it come from a universe devoid of life and is dead set on removing life from other universes?
Is the universe it came from Hell?
And why every 5000 years? From the existing moon, we know it tried to attack 5000yrs before the film's events, but why not even before that?
Are there multiple evil fireballs roaming around destroying other universes?
Hands down one of my favorite movies!
my favourite movie!
I love zorg's accent😂😂😂
Great vid
So... now what does humanity do? They have an evil moon floating around the earth, and in 5000 years that evil will return. They need to have a plan in place
People say that there is no successful live action anime, I disagree. The Fifth Element is the only successful live-action anime (so far) that did not have an original anime to adapt from......if that makes sense lol.
Still in my list of fav movies!
This is the best action sci fi for me, sleazier than Star Wars
I think they should turn this into a miniseries so they expand on the lore a bit more. This movie has some damn good bones and it'd be a shame to let it languish in a corner somewhere. That being said, if it is going to be they need to carefully consider the actors and actresses and stick closely to the film. I don't want there to be a universe that completely unravels the source material.
I see a disturbing resemblance in the antics of Zorg and Musk.😮
Funny how no one used bang on about that Nibiru before this
