This is my rod wrapping station, except I used a narrower box and cut it about 10 inches high and left the front attached so that it keeps the box more sturdy. The front is cut to about 2 1/2 inches tall. I use boxes about 18 inches long by 12 high by no more’n 12 inches wide. Cut your notches and you’re done except for punching a hole under each notch so that I can stick them hair bands through that my wife gives me with the little balls on 1 end of them. If I ain’t got none I make hooks out of a couple of paper clips as I need them, and just poke em through the box where I need em. Tensioner? Run the thread under the box, back to front. 1 down fall though, box tends to get cluttered because it holds so Dadgum many wrapping tools and supplies.
Nonickname: That's the great thing about making it yourself - you can design it for how you like to use it. I really like your idea about leaving the front at 2.5" high; thanks for sharing your ideas!
