I'm delighted to hear my old band (Love Affair)'s song "Everlasting Love" featured here. We played Belfast during this period - I remember the barbed wire barrier around the whole city, with armed military guards. During the night a bomb went off next to our hotel. You deal with it...
Beautiful memory
Fantastic tune! I loved the film and I’ve been listening to the song over and over again since seeing the film the other night. I actually was wondering when I was watching the film did the band actually play Belfast during this time. Now I have my answer haha! Thanks for sharing Morgan.
That's when we believed in everlasting love and ever song spoke to u.
My brother Lance corpral Andrew Martyn Webster was a soldier with the 1st kings regiment fighting it was a very scary time. He died on the shankill road estate in may 1979. I really enjoyed this film Jude Hill is a wonderful actor whoever taught him to act has done a fantastic job. Bought back lots of mixed memories from my brother.
Oh my! I didn't know you were in Love Affair! As a fan of Mott the Hoople, I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. Thank you for all the great work you've done over the years.
every time I see a single clip from this movie I burst into tears
será outro sucesso de jemie Dornan
I wonder why???
There are soany messages in that movie. I know I will cry too.
Can’t wait to watch this film in Belfast where I lived in 1969 a city I love I came from the country to Belfast in 1967 and fell in love with Belfast, the streets, the humour and most of the people, a city divided by conflict but never divided, I’m tears just watching the trailer what’s it going to be like when I put “me arse” (as they would say in Belfast) on a seat in a Belfast cinema.
This movie was so great. Loved the humor and the tears.
The movie was so good - definitely worth a watch
This movie resonates the thing that most people usually forget when it comes to political issues which is humanity, family and love. Every conflict around the world, in Northern Ireland, Middle East, Afghanistan etc, all of them are politically moved, constant blaming from every political sides, and when this happens, people forget about humanity and just focusing on the problem. This movie try to remind us that maybe we need to sit for a moment and try to look what we have around us and just enjoy the love that we have from our surrounding.
There is so much heart in this movie. If you get to see only one movie in the cinema this year, make it this one
We absolutely loved the movie "Belfast". Our family visited in 2015 & stayed @ the Hotel Europa. Kenneth Branagh weaves an incredible story of a family faced with challenges who show great courage, sprinkled with incredible Irish wit & humor. The first movie we've seen in a theatre in two years. A must-see! Enjoy.
One of the best movies my wife and I have ever seen! Great acting all around! If you haven't seen it, GO
Saw it last night in Quimper , France. Just one word to describe this film - " perfect " . Will be going again. Thank you Kenneth Branagh and all the wonderful actors involved. Buddy is the star of the show.
A Fantastic Film... You know the saying.. I laughed, I cried. Powerful film.
I loved this movie, the soundtrack also was amazing
Lucky to have played a very small part in this glorious film
All I can say is it's so real in r the times we are going through right now, bringing it all home!
This is going to be fantastic. I went to Belfast years ago to see Kenneth on stage there and loved the city. Can't wait to see this film!
I watched the movie last night - loved it! Wonderful story and great music!
Ciaran Hinds should be nominated as supporting actor

Loved the movie. So beautifully done and touching. It deserves all the awards!!
Loved this movie! Will be going back this weekend to see a 2nd time!
Wow incredible cast and beautiful story from the master of Shakespeare, Kenneth Branagh, a story close to my heart that I'll now be able to see from my irish roots perspective. How cool is this 🙂
Belfast…
I really really loved this film.
really wanna see this, this film looks like a work of art. It’s not something I would’ve been into years ago, but this film makes me want to know about Belfast and this history, whilst it’s got humour mixed in.
And Jamie has become one of my favourite actors and celebrities.
He has a way of delivering lines that really makes me feel “Touch my family and I’ll kill you” - I hear the protectiveness in his voice.
It’s also interesting hearing him act with his own accent
This movie made me cry and laugh more than any film I’ve seen in as long as I can remember.
What a brilliant film and I mean everything! Just watched it this evening in Alicante. I hope it wins lots of awards. The must see film of 2022 👏👏👏
Best film of the year. It’s family & community at its best. Loved it!
This movie is truly amazing
Fantastic. Can't wait to see it.
💖Kenneth Branagh, Judi Dench, Ciaran Hinds, Jamie Dorman - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stellar … can’t wait to see this.

I'm crying just watching the trailers ~ not sure I'd make through the entire film.

The Irish troubles actually began in the 1920s and before that, I once knew someone in a film camp whose ancestors were members of the original IRA which was formed and disbanded over a course of several decades including again in the 1970s
You have to keep reminding yourself that this movie and Licorice Pizza are only set 3, maybe 4 years apart.
I’m sorry I can’t watch this it’s the story of my life 😢
If only we would get out of all Ireland and set it free
❤️
Svp veuillez mettre les traductions et les sous titrages en français pensez aux fans de ces 2 acteurs Merci beaucoup.
they mention 1969, but it was in 1972 that Belfast was almost leveled. The French navy seized Qaddaffi's shipment of SAM missiles, heavy machine guns and 3,000,000 rounds of heavy ammo destined for Belfast Harbour. Brits brought in troops from Aden, NATO, and England to face down the IRA. Without the Libyan shipment, the IRA backed down. It had been estimated by the intelligence services that at least 30% of Belfast would have been destroyed in the fighting. So the situation was a bit more serious than depicted in the film.
the Branagh family had moved by 1972 so that’s why those troubles weren’t addressed - it’s a movie about Kenneth’s childhood which included the troubles - not a movie about the troubles per say - hope that make sense
@@ej3016 right, there have been several other films more devoted to The Troubles. I was in London at the time, worked for a newspaper. I don't think Americans appreciate issues which have their origins dating back a thousand years and more.
@@nwofoe2866 which Americans are you referring to
@@ej3016 most Americans at this point, but not including Natives (I won't call them Native Americans). If you are a Swedish-American, for example, do you think about Rurik or the Mongols who threatened almost 900 years ago, or as Varangians, your people defending Constantinople 900 years ago? If you're Scots, do you really spend much time thinking about the Plantagenets? Etc.
My biggest issue and a distraction was with the casting of Judi Dench as the Grandmother. Maybe Great Grandmother! She is 86 for gods sake and Jamie Dornan is 39, and both are showing their age. What? Was she supposed to have had him when she was pushing 50?
the age difference between Judi and Ciarin is slightly off too - he’s 68 😳 Pa (Ciarin) says to Buddy that he’s been married to Buddy’s grandmother for fifty years and I cringed - am hoping when I see the movie and not just interviews / previews that it won’t be as big a problem as it seems
the film did nothing for me. it didn't captivate me enough. but the actors were amazing especially the little boy.
I haven't seen the movie yet but the movies clips give me idea that we can draw from in our own lives now as the changes the socialist are trying to make upon us now in our own country. This movie brings out the cold hard facts. I will fight for America forever as long as there is a shread of hope.
i will watch it, but it looks a loooot like Roma (2018), similar plot, art direction and even decade of setting.
tomorrow
@CHRISTIAN CINE REVIEWS (தமிழ்) I meant I will see it the next day.
