As a guy who grew up playing in the 70s through college in the late 80s, this information is invaluable for the younger generation. There were no resources like this back in the day. I’m jealous. Appreciate what you’re doing!
Congrats man, can't wait to see you play. I have a question if you didn't go through an academy and aren't playing through college what is the best way to get recruited professionally?
Play small sided game, eat real organic food, sleep early wake up early, basically build your talent to be valuable of being a pro player, if you want a book here is a good one about that ( Talent Code )
I'm glad to hear that you got a contract renewal!!! I know they can be rather stressful so I'm glad to hear you go it! I have a question in case you do a Q+A video What advice would you give to players who are 20 to ~ 24/25 that still want to try to go pro, and have tried to join a college team but wasn't able to. Is there any advice you'd give in particular?
Thanks for the session. Was wondering if you had any videos/advice for young players (before college) curious about trialing for clubs abroad in Europe. For example, finding the right club that suits you and your skill level, as well as getting an opportunity (trials, camps?). Thanks!
Yes, the basics are most important to the game. Having a perfect first touch, with the right weight, in the right direction every time is invaluable for a player and you’ll be untouchable. The wall is a great place to work on this when your by yourself. Yes it’s not the most game realistic, but the comfort on the ball is the main thing you can bring to team training and games.
My new sports doc just advised me it will take a year to fix the nerve issues I have been having in my right leg. This all stems from a tackle from behind that happened 10 years ago! I didn’t see the right docs or keep up with treatment when I felt better. This is now going to cost me a fortune thinking I should just give up playing and only stick to walking my dog for the rest of my life… yet another doc says I can try to play again… this is messed up…
