- STELLANTIS IN FINANCIAL CRISIS! No RAMS, JEEPS, or DODGES at CAR SHOW
They are no attending the car shows this year. Why? Pricey real estate?
Oh yes, and don't forget to SUBSCRIBE for more
Local Ram dealer by me was taking $13-$15K off 3 specific 2024 Ram 2500 Rebels. Got them down under $68K. That was through December. They didn't sell. Now the discount is down to $7-9K off. Gee, I wonder what's gonna happen lol.
Discounts are coming
Over by me the Dodge/Ram dealer had some decent savings when I looked online. That was a few weeks ago. I was looking yesterday and the prices are back up again.
There have been signs of some yoyo up and down on pricing by several OEMs. Trying to play the ebs and swales.
Whenever I go to the repo yard here on the island. 90 percent of the vehicles are Dodge in a small percent of everybody else. So what does that tell you. Good information keep it coming
Thanks very much. Yes they are a popular vehicle for the scrap yards indeed.
That actually says absolutely nothing about Stellantis. That says more about the buyers. They bought what they couldn’t afford.
Maybe they realized they made a mistake when looking for a Quality vehicle and decided not to pay anymore since it's practically junk.
Stellantis is in trouble....cant imagine why! The end is near. Hasta la vista baby
haha adios amigos
I luv the fact that you're on point with these updates on what's going on. The car industry is one of the big indicators of how the economy, over all, is doing. And as always, The Best to You and Yours ✌️💚
Well said!
I bet you voted for Biden at least twice.
Speaking of Ram truck, I seen one on the side of the road steaming from being overheated. Brand new truck too.
Haha, junk
Okay 😴🤥
Almost every company that has partnered with CDJR or oversaw them has gone bankrupt or close to it. Remember when Benz was attached to them and they dumped them into a landfill?
Cheerz
What!!! no Doge Hornets at the auto shows? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha, right? Have a look at the Alfa Tonale
The market is softening all brands except Toyota might be in trouble, but even Toyota sales are slipping.
For sure. For EVs Tesla has also been sliding even with price drops
Stellantis makes great vehicles in Europe. I guess there are different needs, trends and markets in the US.
What do they provide there other than Maserati, etc?
@@markholubetz Peugeot and Citroen. These are French cars and are very competitive against the German competitors. They also have Opel. Fiat is another brand that they have. Not a brand famous for reliability but a brand that makes very affordable city cars. They also have Alfa Romeo, Italian cars famous for great design and sporty performance. Oh and they also have Jeep. Their EV Jeep Avenger got awarded car of the year for 2023 by the press.
But overall, Citroen, Peugeot and Fiat are the main brands of Stellantis.
@@IMAN7THRYLOSThat might be the case in Europe but the problem is North America portfolio is essentially Chrysler leftover and with no new products coming out of the pipeline.
Those European models are Mid to Small size vehicles and are not the right fit for N.A. market preferences.
To make it worse, without major refit/retool/redesigning, those European models cannot be manufacturing and sales in Canada & USA.
All these take time and mega $, which both they don't have 😢
IMO, Stallantis has priced their products at a point where it makes no sense to ever consider them for purchase. There vehicles are clearly not selling. Dramatic reduction in price, not increased marketing, is what Stallantis needs. It's obvious to me that no one NEEDS a $100k RAM or Jeep. Now, the question is who WANTS one at that price point?
Totally right. Why pay 100 grand for a rolling dumpster? Few people can justify that
They need to lower their Wrangler and Gladiator prices in the U.S. by 30-35% to compete with Ford and GM larger SUVs and by 40-50% (not 5% off msrp) to compete with popular new mid-size Korean Models of Kia and Hyundai. Jeep also has few replacement parts available for JK Wranglers, and they are arrogant about it, everything is under "engineering re-design", and is on Back-order!!! Maybe Stellantis is actively trying to sell their former FCA Chrysler brands and there are no takers? That's why they are milking us with crazy prices right now, and then will ultimately close the Chrysler jeep business entirely? Maybe not, but it sure seems that way to an outsider who owns a Jeep. Service charges at dealerships are now 10 times (yes 1000%) higher than they were in 2014. Service costs except for oil changes doubled every year since 2014!
U are correct Mark.....i didn't even notice until now. The DC auto show is this month, and no stellantis products on display. You'd think they would at least want a small display for the hornet and whatever new stuff may be coming up. There are quite a few manufacturers that dont show up anymore......landrover and jaguar used to have pretty nice displays.....but they are no shows as well.
Thanks Dave, yes a lot of it is they realize its mostly a tire kicking exercise and likely few sales come from it. Its always a business decision.
If Stellantis would start building Quality vehicles, then people would start buying them.
Bingo
Not at these prices!
I truly think Ford should just purchase the brands Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram to increased Ford brand which they only have Lincoln vs GM has many brands under their umbrella. Stellantis is not a American brand their experience and focused is European cars Stellantis is just going to buried the last of the 3 American brands.
Ford is in financial trouble as well. Between EVs and recalls, the brand is bleeding bad.
That would be an interesting transaction
It's too bad that Chrysler and family can't stand on their own feet. What would it take to get some serious US investors into running things? Maybe that ship has sailed already.
Stella Tia wants to be a luxury vehicle and they have priced out the average buyers
well.....
Stellantis is attempting to turn Jeeps into luxury off road vehicles comparable with Range Rover. Jeep Wranglers have a solid market niche, with a loyal customer base, but Wranglers, Range Rovers, & Land Rovers, are very different vehicles. Wrangler buyers want a vehicle that is designed to be modified and customized to go anywhere and has a large after market network.
Range Rover/Land Rover are just luxury vehicles with 4 wheel drive. Stellantis is making a major mistake attempting to turn Jeep into something Jeep loyalists don’t want. Jeeps have become very expensive due to more and better technology being added to Wranglers.
Basic Wranglers are still available at a competitive price.
Jeeps can’t hold a candle to LR in terms of quality and luxury feel and the poor reliability is on par with the TATA motors special
Spot on!
Yes
Would you say the quality of the Ram has deteriorated over what period of time?1 yr. 2yrs or 5yrs?I appreciate your response 😊.I don’t see this lasting in terms of not ever going back to car shows but I see this as being a temporary decision.
I think the quality has always been a little low but the older trucks such as the 90s generation was likely the best as it was a simpler time with the most durable engine such as the 360 and 318 cu in.
The 12 valve Cummins is gold also
No not at all. Check out the 2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten, Limited and the lower models. They are the best looking, mind blowing beauty. The prices are so fkg insane?
The Canadian government recently announced that they would be paying Stellantis almost $28 *Billion* CAD to build a battery factory in Ontario. Plus they gave them a $700 Million CAD grant. Don't you just love corporate welfare?
CW is strong in both Canada and the US both countries are socialist welfare states.
100 percent socialism or even full blown co--m
@@markholubetz That is the plan for North America. Mexico has become a narco state, so they'll be safe from Leftist garbage as long as the cartels are in power.
How the heck did Stalantis profit 20 billion in 2023? Lots are packed with supplies.
That tells a pretty good story about who is making the cash
They *can't* take their new Jeeps to the big shows...Every time someone takes a picture of them, something falls off the Jeep! Can't have anyone seeing that!
Haha, right?
You're so fucking full of it fall apart going to the shows.. What are you 5 years old? Lol
What will it take to get the price of the wranglers down to a price that normal people can afford?
Tried few times with Chrysler products . 1993 Jeep Wrangler, transmission failure with 30.000 km.
2003 Jeep Wrangler suspension problems and rust . 2007 Dodge Nitro,...cheap interior, bad fuel economy and bad performance ( motor and suspension).
What they all had in common was a underqalified and overpriced dealerships .
Also the cars are so overpriced .
A Jeep Wrangler should start maybe in the 20.000 and not costs up to 100.000 $😂
Totally right, the Wrangler is soooo over priced. Buyers have caused this mess though because they accepted it
Too damn expensive.
I agree
I seen the 2024 Jeep summit reserve at the car show and others 🤔
What did ya think?
Well, Stallantis tried to drive a couple of vehicles to the show, but they kept falling apart on the way. Being they couldn't afford a tow truck to take them to the show, they just gave up and took an uber home.
Haha, nice
False. There’s no marketing value in Auto Shows anymore. All vehicles are appliances. No one goes to CES to see a refrigerator, let alone an entire show full of them.
I’ve seen these auto show cars/trucks
Mid week... Everything you described
in the beginning... that’s the problem
with letting the “ vermin” in free of
charge, while others have to purchase
the privilege of viewing the new cars. CB
Bingo
Problem is ram trucks are pure garbage and there one of the most expensive they need to just fold and call it a day
Chrysler products are, have, and will always be junk.
Indeed
Exactly
Really, you think so. I have a 19 Ram rebel DT fully loaded and it has not one problem recall floor mat. I sold a 2015 challenger RT shaker fully loaded in 2020 because of the Plan demic and it's certified needed nothing......
@@aaaaaaab11Get rid of it while you can!!!!
The big three are done in America. Greedy shareholders wanting ever bigger returns. Greedy banks loaning 10, $20.000 or more above MSRP. Greedy dealerships tacking on thousands for unnecessary ad-ons. Then you have a Greedy poorly educated UAW thinking that they deserve huge salaries. It was the perfect storm of greed. Now its over!
Eliminating popular products and NO investment in NEW products PEOPLE WANT EQUAL THIS scenario ☹️ I was looking forward to the NEW RAM DAKOTA !
This guy is nuts. Have you seen the dealers with rows of 2023s still on all lots.
That’s the point, they are not selling
Love my ram -Big Horn with Hemi !
Unlikely that Stellantis is actually broke, but no question they are working through a lean patch. Not turning up at major car shows is a smart move IMHO. Supporting a major show is a very expensive proposition, if you don't have any special reason to be there, better to "keep your powder dry" and return when the time is right and there is new and engaging product to show, whenever, and whatever that may be. Showing off a new EV right now would be pure folly, why would you? Showing existing or old product, what for? Anyone can see it at a local dealer. Better to go away, back to the design desks, get to work on whatever comes next, and make sure it is compelling, not just another quick knee jerk me too shit box like everyone else. The best things in life, always take longer.
HAH! GM CAN'T GIVE AWAY THOSE BIG $200,000 AND UP PICKUPS! THEY LANGUISH ON FORD'S LOTS TOO! DON'T BELIEVE THIS GUY! JUST DRIVE AROUND THESE LOTS AND CHECK THE DEALER MARKUP PRICES!
THEIR VEHICLES ARE CRAP! I HOPE THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!!
Nice
Ram has nothing to offer, they are trying to sell a dated platform for a 40% price increase, their heavy dutys are still using the same cab and transmission since 09' ford and gm both had major refreshes in the last couple years, the truck market is competitive and ram is complacent
Not good quality and I struggle with service that can’t fix their products, ask me how I know
Reminds me of a story I heard from a Ram owner. The Dealer Service Dept just threw computers at the issue until they figured out a wire burned up which was what the Owner claimed to have smelled, burning plastic with an electrical burning smell. The Owner knew, the techs were clueless.@@markholubetz
given how crappy products they have maybe better to go bakcrupt
its coming
I was at the Jeep dealer with my 2016 Rubicon needing a new engine after blowing up twice and the lot was FULL of jeeps with all sorts of discounts on the windshields. I spoke to a sales person and asked about the huge numbers of jeeps and was told we can't sell them. The problem with crappy product coupled with insane prices are keeping people from buying. Congratulations to Stelantis for successfully ruining a wonderful US car line with your stupid European mentality.
They messed up the brand especially where Ram and Jeep are concerned IMHO
You forgot to name the ever popular Fiat and Alpha Romeo. Stellantis will blame the UAW. Why bring a bucket of shit to a auto show?
Haha
The Dodge brand barely exists.Ram has mostly delivery vans, apart from the pick up truck. And Chrysler has the Pacifica, which has a very poor reliability rating.
The only thing that keeps those 3 brands alive is the Jeep brand. And that brand was not even created by Chrysler but bought from AMC.
Actually the Chrysler Pacifica rating is not bad but their hybrid has a poor rating, which has only less than 20% of sales makes it look bad..
Exactly
Stellantis will dump Chrysler corp within the next 5 years due to financial haemorrhaging from the brand.
Things are happening but they are investing in a pile of euro cars
Most American brands are garbage just look at dependability rating and retained value after 5 yrs.
Exactly
They have a huge net cash position, not going bankrupt anytime soon. They have a record year. BS video.
Ram is done!!!
Boom!
Do realize this high price increase by Stallantis is to pay all the carbon taxes for the EPA fines for their fleet mileage that do not meet federal requirements. Stellantis paid hundreds of millions last year to Tesla to buy carbon credits!!! Tesla didn't have to do anything but to build their clown battery cars and the money just comes rolling in all thanks to federal laws!!!
What do you expect car prices to do when you pay out hundreds of millions to a clown car competitor??!!!
I have not owned a GM, Ford, or Chrysler in 30 years. I had an 1984 Cadillac Seville with the disastrous HT 4100 V-8. Never again.
I have always owned cars from the Far East, and i haven't had the problems of Detroit. European cars are endless money pits.
Thanks for sharing
