I really enjoyed The Deele's music, prior to L.A. & Babyface branching off on their own. My favorite songs by The Deele are "Two Occasions", and "Body Talk"!
Born and raised in Cincinnati these cats were stars from the beginning, playing the parks after jass festival partys working there way up you just knew it was a matter of time, when they got signed it was no surprise.
Street Beat, Material Thangs, and Eyes Of A Stranger via SOLAR records! Street Beat's "Body Talk" and "Just My Luck" are my favs; "Material Thangs" and "I'll Send You Roses" from Material Thangs LP, along with the chart-topper in early '88: "Two Occasions", followed by "Shoot'em Up Movies" on '87s Eyes Of A Stranger! Kenneth (Babyface) Edmonds is responsible for writing the second track on every album: Just My Luck, I'll Send You Roses, and Shoot'em Up Movies!! They also wrote "Don't Keep Me Waitin'" and the title track, "So Good" on The Whispers' 1984 same title album: as well as "Rock Steady" and "In The Mood" on their '87 LP: Just Gets Better With Time; written and orchestrated by newcomer Gary Taylor! Babyface's 1st single is "I Love You, Babe"; leading to 1993s For The Cool In You album!!
