Endeavor's emotion hit me the hardest. Because to him, he gave up EVERYTHING... his morals and the trust and love of his family. And seeing All Might depowered like that made him feel like all the shit he did, was for nothing.

Everyone who reacts to this episode forgets that they had to take the bullet train to another city to get to the villain hideout. No one at UA can get there. Yelling at Aizawa (who was specifically left behind to trick the villains by appearing on TV) because he can't make it to the Kamino Ward in Tokyo from whatever suburb UA is built in is unfair.
Also the fact that both all might and all for one, are so insanely powerful, no one at this point in the show could touch them. Edgshot, endeavor, and the rest of the heros couldnt touch all for one, and one attack blew them all away. Only all might could've beat him.
actually kamino is a ward in Yokohama which is like an hour a way from tokyo. i think UA is some what near tokyo so aizawa could actually show up if he needed to and if the fight was there but since it was in yokahama that's actually might be why notable others couldn't make it
Honestly I didn't even think about any of this but I also didn't yell at them for not helping because the students aren't even allowed to fight so why would they go even if they could make it. All for one also killed a hero earlier and took out the others in a flash so yeah. They would also make it worse for all might because all for one wouldn't care about hurting heroes in training

I see a lot of people missing the symbology that’s in Eastern Media because they aren’t quite as “Spell it out for me” moments: AllMight sacrificed his arm BECAUSE he saw Deku do similar strategies with Todoroki. Meaning he’s learning from his student as much as he’s teaching him. This is a large tenet to two societal structures that Horikoshi reveres: the American Soldier and the Japanese Samurai. They are the most “You learn from teaching” theorists in human history.
@@ionlycreatedthissothatican6859 but he did try to kill afo the first time they fought. all might thought he had killed him so your logic doesn't really work.

This has been the episode I've been waiting for y'all to react to since y'all started watching the series. My personal favorite fight in the show and United States of Smash is my personal favorite scene. The animation, the score, my sense of patriotism; all boils over.
I read the manga long before this came out but I literally can’t watch this or the muscular fight without my breath hitching in my throat and tears welling up in my eyes
Thunderspants, if you're talking about shazam, Aquaman, joker that just came out this year then please shut up because those movies were both good and man of steel, Batman v Superman, and wonderwoman are also good hell even if justice league and suicide squad wasn't as good as the others they were both far from terrible. Also why do y'all constantly feel the need to talk shit about wb movies for no reason smfh y'all fake superhero fans be annoying
People out here trying to pretend AFO isn’t well over 100 years old and is taking a United States of Smash straight to the face and somehow it shouldn’t be enough because “All Might was weakened.” Like AFO nearly died in his first fight with All Might and had been living with assistance of machines (he LITERALLY comments on All Might’s arrival with “come to kill me a second time?”). The fact that the USOS didn’t KILL him is amazing and speaks to how strong he really is.
i've seen grown adults crying to this episode and I cried the first time...Naruto, Ichigo and Luffy would be pride because it's definitely in the top 3 of current animes
Remember this is two characters fighting their weakened states. All might stated in his prime he could've taken out the advanced nomu in 5 hits whereas it took over 300 punches in his weakened state. All for one was also extremely weakened. He had tunes plugged throughout his body and was struggling to move and was also struggling to use his quirks as well as was struggling to still other people's quirks. I want an animated version of their first fight since it's the only time they fought each other at their strongest. All for one gave hints of what happened in their first fight. He stated that at one point during the fight all might was attacking him with his guts leaking out from the damage he sustained. There's also a flashback image of all might standing over all for one's smash face. My guess is that their first fight was gory asf. Gran torino stated that all might underestimated all for one which is why he lost his stomach. He stated that all might could've ended him but his selfishness allowed all for one to escape.
I think the whole 'spirit bomb' scene was a twist on the formula, I.e the whole of this hero society is built around 1 guy, and if he's gone then it all crumbles. So it's more a moment of desperation instead of inspiration
Every time bakugo sees almight go all out in person, the look on his face is like reality is hitting him knowing he will never be able to do something like that. The power is incomprehensible
Yeah get hype get emotional it’s the end of an era this episode marks the end of the first saga of my hero academia everything about the story shift from here on out excited for y’all to see this change and what’s to come
Well after 2 weeks of annoyance, first with the change in schedule before the big fight and some personal issues with editing choices for last weeks' episode, I must say I really enjoyed this reaction.
I was genuinely mad at allmight when after punching all for one in the head and slamming him into the ground, instead of continuing to bash his head in, he sat there and listened to all for one talking. He could have killed all for one and he just sat there and had a whole conversation WITH HIS HAND IN HIS HEAD.
"The Symbol of Peace is Broken" Kohei Horikoshi: *Are you sure about that?* a big reason as to why this episode is highly anticipated by the fandom is not just the final Smash, but the amount of light shined onto characters, you wouldn't think would get such an amount at this point. Bakugo's character as a whole becomes more understandable now compared to before when everyone wrote him off as just an asshole, who exactly Shigaraki is & who All For One is, and especially Endeavor. again, like Bakugo, we all took him as just another Asshole, but this episode subtly showed why. his jealousy for always being stuck behind All Might's persona & incredible strength led him to become a man who treated his own family like test subjects and weapons. with the sight of All Might's true form, the question "what was the point of it all" pops up. Kohei Horikoshi may be guilty of using various tropes & cliches from other Shounen Anime, but you gotta give the guy credit for putting effort into a majority of his characters.
It's called executions, cliches don't matter and it's always below execution

@@donmike2810 Just got to this episode today, and I also searched around online for what Aizawa could do. One point that stood out to me was that AFO stealing Aizawa's quirk would have been a monstrous risk to take.
If other people showed up, even if they were trying to help they would get in the way. Allmight would just have more people to protect and afo would have a new selection of quirks to steal. The only one who could have helped was aizawa
This fight was absolutely amazing, and truly epitomizes the "passing of the torch" moments in anime. However, I do feel the lack of consequences prevents this from being incredible. Technically no named characters died in this battle, which is fine I suppose, and main cast deaths rarely occur during shonin anime, All for One was setup as the big bad of the show, so I really think that keeping Jeanist dead or Gran Torino dying would have raised the stakes.
Fry G The Darkarchangel nah he’s dead, the body bag was opened and it looks just like him, unless we’ve got someone faking dead corpses I don’t see it.
Alex James isn’t Jeanist dead tho? If I remember correctly they still haven’t mentioned whether he’s dead or not in the manga yet so I just assumed he died. And also in a way All Might did die, it’s just Toshinori is still alive
Right? I'm not sure if they mentioned it or something, but by the end of the battle, several blocks of buildings had been demolished. People had to have died there

I keep coming back to watch your reaction. Simply because I love your videos and the episode is so good and I enjoy just watching people react to stuff 😂
I misunderstood the comment and thought it was like an old adage or something. Like something your gramma would say to you. "When the black man is quiet, shits going down"
Again usually ok witht he dub for this series, but I think the dub fell a little short in this episode on a few points. First on how the dub just likes to add things kinda made some scenes less impactful. The little grunt All For One gives as he fires off his final air cannon and adding in that final line of Midoria saying "And now it's left to me" wasn't necessary as I found that the silence and implication of All Might using everything had a bigger impact. Wasn't really feeling the delivery of Nana Shimura's talk to All Might as he was going Plus Ultra. In the Japanese version it sounded softer and more intimate, whereas the dub was more like an announcement. And the Japanese version of "United States of Smash" didn't require the echoing effect the dub has. But really bugs me the most is how they changed the line for Endeavor. The dub makes it sound like he was encouraging All Might (as proven in the reaction), but it was really him being angry and frustrated that all his sacrifice and suffering he put his family through was all for a scrawny man that he could probably snap like a twig. It was a great character moment for Endeavor, but the dub ruined it by making it sound like he was being supportive in his own tough way which was clearly not the case.
Endeavor's emotion hit me the hardest. Because to him, he gave up EVERYTHING... his morals and the trust and love of his family. And seeing All Might depowered like that made him feel like all the shit he did, was for nothing.
People hate endeavor, but Horikoshi has to make some characters difficult to tolerate. Shout out to season 1 bakugo.

It is really annoying having them yell for the other heroes to help.. it shows they really didnt realize the gap allmight had over everyone..
Or it shows that they were caught up in the moment
Rana: Yo All-Might hit him back though!
AllForOne: Impact Recoil...
Rana: Oh fuckoff!
its crazy how my hero has such a realistic world despite almost everyone having super powers
Yeah unlike that of one piece.
I think one piece has the worst crowd
I see a lot of people missing the symbology that’s in Eastern Media because they aren’t quite as “Spell it out for me” moments:
AllMight sacrificed his arm BECAUSE he saw Deku do similar strategies with Todoroki. Meaning he’s learning from his student as much as he’s teaching him.
This is a large tenet to two societal structures that Horikoshi reveres: the American Soldier and the Japanese Samurai. They are the most “You learn from teaching” theorists in human history.
Mickey didn't drop the remote this time YESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Didn't they say it will be punishable by DEATH

Since the first episode I have been waiting for this episode. And especially 12:00.

“Throw that dude in a volcano “ lol he don’t want no BS
AFO would probably just climb out after you leave lol.
They don't realise that all might is a HERO

@@ionlycreatedthissothatican6859 but he did try to kill afo the first time they fought. all might thought he had killed him so your logic doesn't really work.
10:06 "But you were there, kiddo."
i always get choked up and teary eyed every time I hear "Now its your turn" XD
I always took the “now it’s your turn” line as All Might talking directly to Deku, telling him that he now has to take over as the next symbol of peace.
"He looks like a skeleton"

My dad: why the hell are you crying so loud!?
Me: Good bye One For All
How fitting that in MHA Nana Shimura and All Might are Teacher-Student, while in another anime (FMA), they’re Elder Sister-Youngest Brother
The United States of Smash is a technique that has been passed down the Armstrong family for generations!!
It’s funny enough that it hit me when I saw the casting of FMAB compared to MHA and I was in shock
The roughest thing for All Might letting go of One for All is that not only was it everything that made him a pillar of justice, but it was the last piece of Nana Shimura he felt connected to. But as he said, there is nothing more heroic than self-sacrifice
10:05 The anime voice actor who voices All For One is John Swasey, who also voices Van Hohenheim from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Lord Death from Soul Eater, the Undertaker from Black Butler and Zara Ideale from Black Clover. :)
"Next...is Your turn" is the famous line each OFA holder says to their pupil/successor as the pass on the power. It's like a sign of respect & "rite of passage" for the chosen successor, as each user was given the ever so careful specific task of cultivating the power to defeat AFO in the future. Hence why specific types of like spirited/minded/hearted people were chosen & selected...for their true heartful qualities & passion to protect & self sacrifice as *"True Hero"*
I guess I'll be the one to appreciate Marketa's silent admiration for All Might. Such an amazing character and sometimes words don't need to be said.
get up and show them why youre better. i love this moment so much. exactly like a vegeta moment
This has been the episode I've been waiting for y'all to react to since y'all started watching the series. My personal favorite fight in the show and United States of Smash is my personal favorite scene. The animation, the score, my sense of patriotism; all boils over.
United States of Smash is easily in the top five best moments in anime.
"GO!!" ... What made you think they are in the same city? Its literary a train ride away.
ITS FINALLY HERE. BRB watching the reaction
I read the manga long before this came out but I literally can’t watch this or the muscular fight without my breath hitching in my throat and tears welling up in my eyes
To anyone who watched this episode the first time: did you think that All Might would die after he defeated All for One, cause I did at first.
I didn’t at all, surprisely
As we find out in Season 3, he was supposed to. He found a way to beat fate.

Its pretty obvious, but I love the detail that Nana and All Might have the same colors in their uniforms. Especially the yellow gloves!

I haven't seen Mickey so visibly shooketh in a while lol
The music when he says United States of Smash makes me tear up every time bro. Wow. All Might is the greatest ever!
Music at that time is a tie against demon slayer episode 19 music
I swear no matter how many times I watch this episode, the feels REALLY hit
The first time I watched this episode I was an absolute emotional wreck, just sobbing. I was genuinely scared that Dad Might was gonna die
Everytime I watch this episode, I always try to hold back my tears. Can't help it.
How is it that Japan does Superman better than WB did in the recent movies?
Superman is cool as fuck in Man Of Steel and Batman V. Superman
Sad that the only time they got superman right was in the justice league movie at the end but nobody cared anymore because wb fucked it up so much
@@airborne19j Jesus JL superman the worst superman I have ever seen in my entire life.

lo l yea I like him a whole lot more than Superman
この回はいつ観ても最高、そしてどこの国の人も同じ感動を共有できて嬉しい。
それはそうと日本人いるかね。。
You should watch the United States of Smash part in sub, Chris Sabbot made a good job but the Japanes VA went to another level to deliver that line
Charles Plasma Definitely agree, but I guess the majority of people here want to see the Dub reactions lol
I dont agree, it doesnt compare to Dub at all.
I think the whole 'spirit bomb' scene was a twist on the formula, I.e the whole of this hero society is built around 1 guy, and if he's gone then it all crumbles. So it's more a moment of desperation instead of inspiration
this episode always makes me emotional, and the first few times i watched it + now after season 4 started, i cried a ton
Lmao. They finally got to this part. One of the most epic parts in the story to date, anime-wise. Another one will come up in Season 4.
its been a while since i last watch this episode and i started chocking up with the emotions
I waited soooo loooong for this reaction
Every time bakugo sees almight go all out in person, the look on his face is like reality is hitting him knowing he will never be able to do something like that. The power is incomprehensible
Yeah get hype get emotional it’s the end of an era this episode marks the end of the first saga of my hero academia everything about the story shift from here on out excited for y’all to see this change and what’s to come
Well after 2 weeks of annoyance, first with the change in schedule before the big fight and some personal issues with editing choices for last weeks' episode, I must say I really enjoyed this reaction.
If this was any other episode, I would have gone to sleep and seen it in the morning. But this just couldn't wait.
I shook, screamed and cried so much during this episode. And I cry pretty much every time I see a reaction to it I cry as well.
I love how psychological All For One is. All Might should've won this with only mild difficulty but All For One knew all the right buttons to press.
The man is ancient, he's been around the block a few times
United States of smash is easily a top 5 moment in all of anime for me
#4 Hero gets one shotted, normie response maybe more ppl should be on scene.
They called normies for a reason bro
Knowing know that All Might genuinely thought this was his end makes this scene much more epic and emotional
I'm curious to see how they react to Bakugo's "speech".
All For One’s voice is SO MUCH better in the Japanese Dub.
Yes
Holy shit yes. Especially when he says despite his weak body he's got his heart of justice.
He sounds more intimidating and creepy
"The Symbol of Peace is Broken"
Kohei Horikoshi: *Are you sure about that?*
a big reason as to why this episode is highly anticipated by the fandom is not just the final Smash, but the amount of light shined onto characters, you wouldn't think would get such an amount at this point.
@@leeleelee7878 exectution is important, but if that's all he really had then it just amounts to timing. there's no need to really add more if execution is all it took.
I can't lie. I cried when he unveiled United States of SMASH!!!!!
Suraj's recap at the end is perfect. A small spark really created a raging wildfire, and All Might gave it all, everything he had.
*UNITED STATES OF SMASH*
Ughhh gives me chills everytime
I'm not crying, your crying! One of the best episodes ever!!!
All might: "i've failed-"
Normies: "Yes!!!"
This episode is certainly fantastic but to ME the Japanese version of this gives me more chills. I actually really like the English dub that they do for this show but there's just something about the emotion that the Japanese voice actor puts into the United States of Smash that just gets me every time I see it.
lol the normies knee-jerk solution to every crisis is throw as many people as you can at it no matter how far away or unqualified they are for the task
I didn't like that either but aizawa could've been helpful I think. Just stare at all for one from a distance while all might beats his ass.
@@donmike2810 Just got to this episode today, and I also searched around online for what Aizawa could do. One point that stood out to me was that AFO stealing Aizawa's quirk would have been a monstrous risk to take.
@@krillinslosingstreak Thats true but I think the scenario still should've been bought up at least. Guess the author never thought about it.
Don Mike he didn’t think of it it this scenario but spoilers
He did for plus ultra shigaraki.
@@donmike2810 Also Aizawa can only erase a single quirk at a time.
Ironically someone indirectly died as a result of this battle, later on in the manga
@@luisfraga4759 is he dead though? It was really ambiguous
People had to have died there
10:00 All for One is voiced by Jihn Swasy. He is a legend be sure to check out the S3 blu rays for more in depth into the Actor and the chsracter he voices

I keep coming back to watch your reaction. Simply because I love your videos and the episode is so good and I enjoy just watching people react to stuff 😂
When the black guy doesn't talk as much as he usually does, during the episode, you know the scene is hair raisingly EPIC!!
I misunderstood the comment and thought it was like an old adage or something. Like something your gramma would say to you. "When the black man is quiet, shits going down"
@@matthewletexier Haha Nah Nah bro, I dont know the guy's name, thats why went with the descriptor.. He usually talks alot during the reactions.
@@abhilashdarshan3873 I know, but out of context its pretty funny to think of it like that
“That is clearly something i would do” -Wise words from All For One
DO YOUR BEST, TOSHINORI
