This F1 2006 season pack caught my attention recently, and it got me very intrigued. It uses the same driver model found in the Red Lion 05(2005 Red Bull RB1) mod by CR Formula.
This driver model features fully rebuilt 3D arms/hands, that look much more realistic than Kunos' default hands, and retains the Red Lion 05’s the cool animations.
Version: 2.0.
I’ve only tried the Ferrari so far and I’m not sure if each car has its own physics, or if they all share the same.
It handled well(once the tyres warmed up!), but it was still very spin-happy in 2nd & 3rd gear, even with full TC on(probably just my heavy foot!). I was running the default setup, except for fuel load.
Visually though, most of the cars seem to present at least one or more glaring visual issues - anything from missing non-tobacco skins, very low ride heights(planks buried below the ground under load), overly shiny/reflective tyres/chrome, stretched under-car shadows, overly -positive front tyre cambers, etc - all of which I hope can be fixed in the next updates.
The potential is there for this to be a top-tier mod - I really hope they can achieve it.
