Hey! You guys are awesome! It's so nice to look at you, put your tents next to each other, eat together. Very beautiful places, walk long distances a day, well done! Thank you, interesting and educational videos
Wow! What an adventure you guys are having. Those river crossing look cold and the blow downs are like an obstacle course! Hike on, and I look forward to part two. Happy Hiking 🥾- Julia from the UK 🇬🇧
For all those stream crossings it would be nice to have some quick drying socks. Have you had any luck finding any? My Darn Tough's don't seem to dry very fast. Why did you decide to take the tent instead of hammock?
The Injinji aren't bad for drying. Wet/damp feet is really just part of the journey at certain points. I used the tent on this one because of all the burn areas in the Bob and Scapegoat. There were also a few sections that were above tree line for a while. It would have been fine to use a hammock but going into it I wasn't sure so I decided to go with the tent.

I never have. In a group we just make sure to talk loud and make a lot of noise. If I'm by myself sometimes I'll just put on some music or podcast and play it out loud.
Holy shit. Finally caught a sighting of Darwin on the CDT. Its like a Bigfoot sighting these days. You may run into Ibtatt coming the other way soon...another rare species.
I noticed you use a z pole with your pocket tarp. Have you noticed any difference between a standard trekking pole and Z style poles with pitching your tarp?
@@juicehikes5436 I wrapped one at Glenns Lake Head in Glacier but it was on a bear pole. Fortunately there was a log and a Glacier climber around to help me get it unwrapped.

Hi Angel. I liked the Zerk quite a bit but personally I've enjoyed the Nashville Cutaway more. It has better shoulder straps, it's made of a better material, has a pad attachment system on the outside and has the fancy bottom for extra storage. There was really nothing wrong with the Zerk, just a few things that I personally wanted that the Zerk didn't offer. Happy trails!
For some reason it is kind of refreshing to see Darwin filmed in this way he seems to be more free and natural.
Just a couple guys hiking a trail.
Agree. It’s cool seeing Darwin not being “Hey guys” Darwin.
Just found this channel - thrilled I did. Thanks for taking the time to being us all with you.
Thanks for tuning in!
It's great to see the same hike from different perspectives :)
Golly! that is stunning! I am very jealous... I need to get west one of these days. Can't wait for part 2!
Go West as the songs say!! Thanks for tuning in!
The video quality is great! This is all just on a phone? Incredible:)
Thanks! I use a mic that I plug into the USB C port but other than that it's all from the phone!
Glad to see the stabilization on that Galaxy looks great!
Yup! It's pretty great!
@@juicehikes5436 It sure is on my Ultra 20. I pretty much quit using the camera except for zooming.

Thanks for tuning in Dennis! We had a blast on this trip. Part 2 is dropping Friday!

Thanks Julia! The trail is even tougher in Part 2!
What a badass adventure! Looking forward to part 2!
Thanks Buckley!
First video I’ve ever seen of yours. Great job. Subscribed.
Thanks Kelly!
I like your cheery conversational style.
Thanks Barbara!

Do you ever carry a tiny bell on you to notify bears/animals of your presence?

I saw the Abominable Snowman at the top of a pass a few days ago too!
@@juicehikes5436Apparently Big Foot and Ibtatt are second cousins...or so the gossip says.
@@lostdawg67 I'd buy that!
Back on trail Man SHIT!
28 miles after not sleepin well is tough
It's definitely not great! haha
Beautiful place. What were the dates you were on trail here? It looks like it could get killer hot in Jul/Aug.
July 11-18, it did get pretty warm!
Great choice of music during the scene where you got your foodbag cord stuck in the tree. (No laughing matter in the field, though.)
Haha, thanks Todd. It was a mess for sure.
4:08 is this post editing or does the galaxy pan out while recording.
Hey Scott, this was done in post and not on the Galaxy.
I noticed you use a z pole with your pocket tarp. Have you noticed any difference between a standard trekking pole and Z style poles with pitching your tarp?
Nope! It still extends to the same length as more traditional poles and is just as strong.
Great filming Juice, thanks for taking us along for the hike. Did you get your rock sack back in the end for that bear hang? ;-)
Thanks Joe! Haha, I did get it back!
Hey mate, beautiful video. What camera do you use?
Hi Peyton, thanks for tuning in. On this trip I used a Samsung S21 Ultra for photos and videos. Cheers!
Was this filmed on the Samsung S20 Ultra? What settings? Looks great, thanks for the video
Thanks for tuning in! This was on the S21 Ultra on the default 4K30 settings.
@@juicehikes5436 Thanks for the reply!
I like seeing bear hang fails like that... makes me feel normal.
Haha, I botched this one pretty good!

Great video. Amazing views
Thanks TooTall. Montana is a pretty great place!

Love your minimalist sunglass strap… what is that?
Thanks! They are made by Chums. They sell them at sporting goods stores like Cabela's or Bass Pro Shops or online.

@@alpineearth I went with the VX-07

Eventhough it looks stunning, the trail is completely infested by giant howeed. Sad to see that.
I hadn't heard that.
@@juicehikes5436 the high growing plants in the beginning of the video. Where it looks like you guys are bush-wacking a bit. Its an invasive plant....
Aha, yeah that stuff was pretty annoying
Bear hangs are the worst!
Haha, especially annoying at the end of a long day
