Those Smith Persuit face shields are cool but that price tag is heavy. I’m not normally an Oakley fan boy but the Wind Jackets are ridiculously good. The built in forehead sweatband is clutch for both moisture management but works amazingly well for blocking wind on fast descents.
It is pretty rare for me to need to change my pole length one the uphill climb but once I'm going downhill my poles are typically longer as the slope is now going away from me so having an extendable pole is necessary most of the time. That being said you can get away with a fixed pole but you will make some sacrifices along the way.

Does having an extended grip negate the need for the pole to also be extendable or do you change your pole length too?
