Great video and content! I have two Echomap units in my boat and one dedicated to Livescope... Agree with the sensitivity, when I use the washdown pump/hose, even a drop of water on the screen causes the screen to pause!@! One thing you did not mention is that the GPSMap supports the HELM feature and you can record video on your phone. Just for that alone, I think I may upgrade. Thanks for the great video.

I agree with you 💯 the menu popping up on the bottom of the screen bugged the crap out of me when I first got my Livescope. Then I found the setting to turn it off. I do a lot of ice fishing also, so a touchscreen with gloves doesn’t work. New sub!

But it doesn't happen that often. The thing I don't like about the echomap series is that it doesn't support active captain. What is live scope? I'm currently looking for a sounder, considering the Echomap 95sv with GT56UHD transducer and then there's the 95xsv (seemingly no transducer included. The xsv is $1,000 more expensive in Australia 🇦🇺 where I live, plus I'd need to buy the transducer.
I have no knowledge of these sounders nor any experience with them.

I'll search your channels videos when I get home from work, but was wondering if you could give an answer in the meantime if at all possible.
From what I see, they can both be hooked up to the same live scope, and the xsv has better resolution, but not sure if that better resolution is worth the extra $1,100 or not

The 95sv with 56 transducer is $1,450, the 753xsv with 56 transducer $2,550 (pushing financial limit, but could make it work if its superiority to the 95sv is very noticeable).
I'll be moving the unit between a Kayak and 14ft aluminium boat (utilising a 2nd transducer) to save cost on needing two sounders.
So, still wouldn't know if 10 inch is too big to mount on a yak.

Not being able to network a gpsmap and a echomap is the deal breaker for me. I realize it isn’t totally necessary. I have two echomap’s and I mark a lot of waypoints from the console unit with side imaging. The two networked together and sharing waypoints makes it really nice. If Garmin could somehow change the way the menu at the bottom appears. Maybe a single tap in the middle of the screen to bring up the menu and double tap to pause the screen and bring up the crosshairs. I agree though, it can get a little frustrating.
