Yeah Beamer is definitely NOT on any hot seat. He inherited a 2-win catastrophe from Will MusChump and has a winning record in the brutal SEC, despite always having to play Georgia, Clemson, and Tennessee each of his first three seasons. Beamer has recruited lights out since he arrived in Columbia and this upcoming season should be the deepest Carolina has been in every position...maybe ever. They will still be very young and raw on the O-line, and there are questions at WR (although plenty of unproven talent there as well), but LaNorris Sellers could emerge as one of the best young QB's in the country and everyone seems to have forgotten that no one in the SEC could tackle Rocket Sanders when he was healthy. The schedule never gets any easier so you can have a very good team and still be .500 in the SEC, but AD Ray Tanner knows beamer has the team heading in the right direction, and with fewer injuries and a few good bounces this season could be a breakout.

I hate the hot seat talking point as well. Winning in the SEC is really hard, especially at a middling school like ours (sad but true). Progress will be slow and likely not linear. Overall I'm happy with what he's doing. I would suggest people come up with their expectations now, in the off-season, instead of freaking out after every loss and calling for Beamer's job.

@@vagabond197979 I feel like the only reason we're supposedly a middling SEC school is that we are in such a small state and that state is shared with a national championship team (granted they succeeded in the same state, but they also don't play in the SEC so they basically had a couple of tough games a year, where we have 6-7 every season). All that said, I don't even feel like the progress has been slow. Considering the bowl win in year one, the massive wins in year two, I think it was actually too soon and raised insane expectations. The same morons who were hailing Beamer as the greatest coach ever, turned on him immediately when he didn't magically win a championship in year three. But apparently those are people who don't watch recruiting or still don't understand the reality of the SEC. In the past it was nothing short of a miracle for SC to land a 5-star, and if we did they had to be an in-state phenom like Clowney, Latt or Alshon. This season we will have three on the team, two from the DMV. It was also major news when we ever got a 4-star QB like Stephen Garcia. Under Beamer we've had a 5-Star and so many 4-stars that couldn't even get on the field, they had to transfer. High school rankings don't win games, but it is evidence of how fast Beamer revived the program and how much talent SC is fielding this year. Definitely no "hot seat".

I WANT everyone to sleep on my Gamecocks.... I won't say too much but by mid season people will know how good our Defense is and that LaNorris Sellers is the REAL deal.... 'Nuff said GO COCKS !!
