Great rock song, shows their phenomenal range. And, without understanding a word, you can feel the emotion. “F you, we are good”. Love the riffs.

I can’t get over how shockingly young they were when they composed this...raw talent. You must react to its pair...Lividi sui Gomiti (Bruises on the Elbows)...also at 1Live WDR...it’s a stunning piece.
I like how you deconstruct a song.

They opened with this one to the Stones.
    In Italian and quite heavy!
Any song from this show will rock!

This band are really good at dynamic changes. It's most apparent when you see their live performances that they know how to write a song that keeps your attention and perform it that way too. They often add little changes in the lives so it's always fresh. They started as buskers because there isn't much of a new music scene in Rome so the street was where they played and I think it really helped them know the value of attention and the balance of catchy and dynamic. I adore how Damiano uses rhythm with his lyrics. The lyrics are sort of a battle cry against those who told them their style and ambitions would never work. As a band I have always been really impressed with their self confidence, from a very young age they knew how to judge their skill and they dedicate themselves very fully to musicianship so they don't get knocked down by criticism that comes from prejudice because they know when their stuff is good. In a documentary about the making of their first album (when they were aged 17-19- Thomas was still doing his school exams) they had a sign in the studio that said 'Practice and the rest will follow' and it summarises their ethic to me. They aren't afraid to experiment and absorb all music genres so they can put it into their music, Ethan's studied jazz, Damiano pop, they search wide for their influences and yet always keep their own distinct identity when writing. I hope with all the new fame they still get the time to properly develop and compose together because I am so excited to see what they produce in the future and their second album- Teatro d'Ira, is one of my favourites ever.
Personally, Vent'anni is one of my favourites of theirs, the lyrics hit deep. I would recommend that next. (The did a live performance on Italian XFactor that's really worth watching too, Damiano's delivery always effects me.)

Hi! I am really happy to see you again and, above all, to listen to you. They have already explained to you the meaning of the song and that it is not religious in the strict sense. The point is that you have to imagine 4 kids, because that they were when they started, subjected to all the pressures of the record company, the manager and, in addition, that of the haters. They didn't have to rock, because there was no market, they didn't have to have excessive looks, because that wasn't the case ... and then there were the haters (mostly failed middle-aged musicians, and there are still) who said that they can't play, they can't compose, they're just a teen phenomenon. Theirs was a constant struggle to try to be themselves, until the miracle of international success. In fact, the first thing they did after Eurovision was change manager.

Congratulations on your analysis! This song along with "Lividi sui gomiti", "La paura del buio" and "Zitti e buoni" is a song written in response to all those who have criticized them from the beginning !! All those who have never believed in their ability to write music and all those who, in my opinion out of envy, said they were worth nothing. A true rock song, a song with so much anger, a reaction like only the Maneskin can do. Greetings from Alessio

And the music is so good.

I love your enthusiastic comment on this "very very" hard rock track. Inspired by Led Zep (after all Thomas is a Jimmy Page's fan) we are sure that Maneskin know how to play and how to make really good rock music. Finally a breath of fresh air in the midst of rap, trap, etc. Thanks for your fantastic reaction.

Early days in my Maneskin discovery journey, this song was a fair bit too heavy for me, so l often skipped it. Then after a few more listens and a few more after that over a week or so, it quickly climbed up from frequent skip, top 15, top 10 to what it is now, my Top 3....fighting it out with La Paura Del Buio and Zitti E Buoni being 1 & 2 respectively.
This is one of their most underrated songs imo. It's an absolute banger, you'll love it more each time you listen to it.

Thanks so much for your reaction I enjoyed very much you shaking your head to the rythm of the music! :D
The song is not religious however music is so important to them since they have committed all their time their whole lives to music that is become a sort of religion, that's why the the words "in nome del padre, del figlio, dello spirito santo" like you say at the end of a prayer.
The song is more about the struggles to achieve success, the insecurities sometimes and fears and doubts about having chosen the right path but also the determination to go on and do not change in spite of who has done everything possible to stop them, discourage them, change them. He is angry towards those people and he tells them in a very graphic way to stay afar, stop interfering, he describes the struggles like in a constant fight, going down, getting hurt, spitting blood, but always standing up again and again, fighting against risk and hate, with his own rage, but keeping on going because this is the life they've chosen. They opened for The Rolling Stones in Vegas on Nov6 and DJ Gerry from Starlight Music who was there with his son posted the footage of their gig, they opened with this song and although the audio is not very good it's worth to watch because there's an extended guitar solo at the end. I leave the link below and as a bonus please note the footage covered the whole Maneskin gig and Rolling Stones concert and also all the time in between also interesting. Enjoy!

PS - since you want to go back to a ballad here is the link to "Vent'anni" = Twenty years old. The mv is really beautiful but this is the lyrics video since it's worth to check them in my opinion.

So good. I was with my brothers this weekend. One of them was already into them. The other one didn't like them. We told him "You say that now, but we'll see what you have to say a year or two from now.". My only fear is the corporate music execs try to "guide and improve" them. I hope they are strong enough to not cave in...

Great reaction, I like how you deconstruct songs. And you’re right, In nome del padre is really a strong piece of music, actually is in my top3 by Måneskin, perhaps ex aequo on 2nd place with Coraline but after the unbeatable For Your Love. Only thing I’d is that I’ve always sensed a Rage Against the Machine kind of vibe here. Have you too?

On the stage of the final of X Factor 2021, 2 days ago, Måneskin brought home their overwhelming energy with which they opened the evening with their world super hit 'Beggin', and then returned afterwards for a medley of their others hits' I wanna be your slave ',' Zitti e buoni 'and' Mammamia 'during which a wild Damiano first reached the judges' table, then launched himself on the public for a long stage diving 👍 watch the video Is Amazing, you don't regret it 😁👍

If you want to go back to a ballad, here below is a link for "Vent'anni" (20 years old), this is a lyrics video with the Italian lyrics and English translation. This song is kind of an anthem for young people.
The official video is very nice too but I don't think it has subtitles and the lyrics are quite important for this song.
Their other really great ballad would be "Torna a Casa" (Come back home) - and you can find another lyrics video from the same person who did the link below - she has done several of these and she does them very well!

" if you ask me why i'm doing this, it's because in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit"
This song in short talks about how Damiano and the group had to give up a lot of things in order to do what they do (aka music) because music for him/them is their god.
