Idea for PVP Challenge: Auction Style PVP challenge but instead of bidding on items you are instead bidding on monster kills. For example one of the "Items" auctioned could be 10 Zulrah kills. After the auction is over you go kill all the monsters you had the highest bid on and you can use any items gained from those kills in the final fight.
@@TealAV how is looking forward to something a bit much? doesn't mean it saved his life, if im having a boring shift i look forward to things like this and it eases the shift
I feel like this challenge would have been better if you brought all your wearables to the reveal, and swapped down to your backups as things were cancelled out. That way, there's a little more strategy as to how much time you should waste on backups vs acquiring main pieces that might get cancelled out.
The no-duplicates rule is a winner. I feel like while you usually have different plans, sometimes you show up with almost identical gear, as if the meta for certain challenges has already been figured out.
The no duplicates rule is useless. If certain armor or weapons is "the meta" because it's the best you can get, then both players should go for it. For example if you could get B gloves, you should always go for that. If you went with something worse than that you are making a mistake. Edit: the only real interaction this rule provides is blocking each other. So if you are going magic then you could get a rune scim as well and some range gear to block the other person from doing those. Maybe just maybe that might be worth. But that could be done with both players having ban lists for gear.
@@MK-13337 I get what you're saying from a competitive perspective, but as viewers, the worst episodes are the area/limited monster challenges which sometimes boil down to "smith full addy and recoils" or "kill gorillas/bbd's/rune dragons for full rune and d scim" and then we watch two maxed players beat on each other when the outcome is essentially a coin flip. You could call that a problem with the challenges being selected, but part of the appeal is the sense that the player with the better strategy will be rewarded, and that disappears when there's a "meta" strategy that is obviously best. Not only are these sorts of challenges common, but if you look at how the episodes are edited, the actual strategy stage (which is usually the focus of the episode) is only 10-15 minutes and they stretch the gear reveals out to 15 minutes+ to pad the length because there's nothing interesting to watch. I don't think it's a rule for every challenge, but they've done enough episodes to know when there is an obvious meta strategy and when the episode has a chance to be stale. In those circumstances I think the no duplicates rule is better than simply reducing the time limit (which rewards drop luck too heavily) or downgrading items (it's usually better to get the best items and get then downgraded than to try a different strategy).
@@jakeplissken You could make it so both players have a hidden ban list of items. either so that if an item is banned by Link for example then neither of them can use it, or so that if Link bans an item Rargh can't use it. 3 bans should be enough of a deterrent to just for example go r cbow + black d'hide and no backup plan. Edit: I think one-sided bans are better, so for example Link can ban rune scimmy and still get one himself as a backup.
an idea: each player can pick 8 skills, you may then only use those skills to prepare for the fight within a set time limit. for example, if a player picks runecrafting they can craft runes, if they pick smithing they can create armor. if they pick attack they can only fight with the accurate style. if they don't pick something, for example magic, they cannot use magic in the fight or to prepare
I think all three melee stats should be clumped together at no extra cost, because it comes down to being able to melee, magic or ranged, not a specific style of a damage skill
Season 3 Score Update (before Link's video): Link: 6 Rargh: 7 Also, potential video idea: collect 28 pieces of wearable equipment, and then drop it all in party room, then we fight!
I quite like when there’s one video on Tuesday, the other on Thursday! If you switched it up because it helps get more views or something that’s totally fair, but I’m at least excited to have two different days again next week!
This was so much fun to watch!! you guys should do a similar one with a twist where if lets say rargh gets 5 rune full helms and link gets 4 rune full helms, rargh can use up 4 rune full helms to cancel all of links' and then only Rargh can bring one to the fight
so in the reveal, instead of just locking in your items, it would be awesome if you can bring every single drop you got, and then you can cancel out the opponent's items, this way every item you get has a potential value
idea for a PvP challenge: Like a normal pvp challenge but all of your gear and food must fit into one inventory, so the more equipment you have the less food you've got to play with in the fight. You've gotta balance up if each equipment piece is worth the loss of food and if having more equipment is worth it.
ahhh I was waiting for Links upload to binge both and couldn't wait any longer, just before the fight I find out my wait was fruitless xD Next week gun be goood
This is so smart! Every pvp challenge should have that caveat, where duplicates between you aren't available in the fight. It guarantees variation between your strategies!
You should compare each of your defense bonuses side by side at the end of each reveal. I keep finding myself trying to figure that out off the top of my head. 😅
Future Challenge Idea: Upgrades Only I think it'd be a fun (but very challenging) idea to do a timed challenge where you're free to go anywhere and kill anything (no skilling) and use any drops you manage to collect, but only if you're able to get every inferior version to that point. For example, if you get a mithril scimitar you may only use it if you first collect a bronze, iron, steel, and black scimitar. Of course there can be some subjective rulings for how items that don't fit directly into the metal hierarchy work, but I think it'd be a really interesting level or prioritization and seeing some things killed that we never otherwise see.
ima be honest I prefer listening to link and watching his view but since you intergrate both views and switch up on eachothers channels I just switch between both of you its pretty nice :) double the content keep up the good work!
I had an interesting idea to bring coin drops into the challenges. You should flip a coin at the end of each challenge. Heads allows you to use coins at shops, tails means you cannot use the coins at all. Then spin a four sided spinner with 2, 4, 6, or 8min on the spinner. You’d then have that much time to spend the coins in shops around the map. Unlimited teles for the allotted time. The interesting thing about this would be allowing you to fill empty Armor slots that you couldn't fill with only drops. And you can’t rely on coins to fill a slot because you don’t know if the coin flip will be in your favor or not
When I saw "no duplicates" in the thumbnail for some reason I expected it to be that you can't kill something that also drops a wearable you've already gotten (presumably not cointing Rare Drop Table), but this is great too.
Thanks for another good episode! I actually lol'd when I saw you walk out the bank in your final set up and link with his no platebody. Not gonna lie though, I knew link was gonna win when he hit us with the "expected value" phrase. Haha. Always next time though!
Challenge Idea: You have an hour and a half to get any items you want with any gear you have. You must get up to 3 items for each main equipment slot (e.g. Helm, Legs, ect.). Then you compare items. If you both have the same item, it is null and neither of you can use it. You dont have to get 3 items, but not doing so will give the opponent an edge in that slot. The idea being: anticipate what items your opponent will have, then bring something obscure to ensure you have an item in every slot. The time limit means you will have to sacrifice some slots for the ones you find most important. At the end, each player reveals their items one at a time and the other counters it if possible. Then, ofcourse, YOU FIGHT.
Before i continue to watch, i just wanted to say whether or not its used. The idea of having the same item as one another , eliminating that item; is an awesome idea !!
Would love to see this challenge again but where if you get an item that fills a slot you don’t already have, you have to stop killing that monster, like you’ve already done. Might want to up the scales, but otherwise that could be a fun one!
Idea: Any armor can be used during collection. However, a bronze dagger MUST be used as your weapon when collecting. 1 hour limit with no restrictions on monsters.
This gave me a great idea. You should do a 'we can only get 5k scales then we have to fight..' challenge. Where you kill say zulrah and soon as you get a certain amount of scales you can't kill it anymore, or until it a specific drop for that certain monster say, a d med then the monster is VOID etc..
PvP Challenge Idea: Each player is given the same amount of time - probably 60 minutes - to kill monsters in ascending order of combat level. You have to start with the lowest combat level monster then when you are ready to move on, you have to kill a monster which is within 3 levels of the one you just killed.
the doublicate thing would be really fun in like a 3 or 4 player thing. because in 1v1 you are still clearly forced to go for the meta stuff because either you get it or at least you block it for the opponent. it's a bit more strategic when you are more people. then you can decide whether you want to rely on the other guys blocking eachother and so on
I think this would be an interesting challenge to return to, but maybe with the rule for negation slightly adjusted to where it negates item for item. if you both have a rune full neither can use it, but if one of you has 2 helms while the other has one, one of each is negates and the person with two would be left with a rune full helm to use. I think that would add some strategy as well as it being less punishing for duplicates.
You guys should do a 3 hour in DMM or similar challenge within a few weeks. Maybe near the end of the season when people don't care about low levels. Just a suggestion!
Idea : Not sure if it's been suggested before but try combining previous challenges..so as an example 1000 Zulrahs + a total level limit.. Or do a silent auction then you have X amount of kills to find your gear.. There's so many mix and matches you can do - Could even do a challenge where could "Inflict" 2 handicaps on the other guy so you limit link to total levels..and he says you can only walk west...figuring the logistics of that one would be tricky though..
PVP idea. You both stream/play at the same time. First to get an item locks it in as theirs. (Ie. If Rargh get rune legs, then Link cannot get rune legs (but can get any other type of legs)). Once one of you has all slots full it stops the clock and the pvp begins with the gear of your choice from what you have gotten up to that time.
I think this challenge is kind of cool but instead of duplicates not being allowed, only one person is allowed that duplicate and the other loses it. You would decide with like a dice roll or something on who rolls the highest.
I quite like this stipulation, but I think the idea could be taken further. You could both record your drop lists, then send them to a third party. The third party would identify all duplicate items, and send the list to both of you. All items that you both got would be disallowed. It would incentivize finding unique items to make your setup around, because the other player would be likely to also have staples!
you should also eliminate dupe drops that you earn, so if you get a black vamb you have to carefully consider still camping that monster or just calling it there and moving on so you don't get another.
A different version of this No Duplicate like this. Yall decide what few monsters to kill and set a limit like 500 or something. and the first time it drops for a slot you have to pick it However if you get a duplicate drop it cancels it out. So now you have to get another unique item for that slot since the other item is no longer available ever. So if you got duplicate Drag daggers then you cant use it and have to find something else. This is more RNG since your at the mercy of your drop rate for what item you get. But also you can make it your chance since you have to decide which monster to kill. If you wanna chance it fighting a monster with a high drop rate and risk not getting it or a lower drop rate monster so your more likely to get drops. And you can add more rules or conditions to make it better for your fight/video making purpose
You guys could do a V2 of this, where you bring all your drops, so if you both have rune fulls you both lose the one you are wearing, but you can use your other helm drops until you guys dont have a shared helm.
are you guys planning on doing another long pvp series like the won season 1 vs kneeception series? it could be super interesting to do one where this time you guys keep a tally of the wins over the series instead of having one big final fight, maybe with like a four episode grace period to build the accounts up first.
Idea for a pvp challenge you bid for drops from monsters but not with cash so for instance a monster drops a rune helm you both would bid the amount of kills it will take to get the item whoever is closest wins Can only bid up to the drop rate :)
You guys should reset your drop log and put it on screen before the fight so we can see everything that was dropped and how many kills. Idk if you guys use runelite, but would be cool to see.
I clicked thinking the video was gonna be "We kill zulrah until it drops us a total of 1000 scales." Obviously a really low number, but maybe pick a common drop for a couple bosses/strong monster's drop tables and do a video with that concept. Might be kinda cool to see "we kill sire until we have 100 binding necklaces" or something
What if you guys did a clue scroll fight? You can only complete a certain amount of clues like.... 5 masters, 10 elites, 20 hards, 35 mediums or 50 easy clues. You can do the spinning wheel to pick.
You should do a challenge where you both try to make as much money as possible from nothing for one hour, then you can buy whatever you want from the GE for the fight.
Bosses only, fill all available slots with first item dropped locking into place. I want to see some heavy RNG. This one may take more time to complete though
Link will still have an extra upload at some point to replace the lack of episode today. So do not fret, you guys get the same amount of content :)
suggestion: you can kill any monster, no bosses for 4 hours straight, BUT you MUST stick to a single combat style, no hybrids
and for extra fun: clue scrolls are not off limits
do another but with 2k scales
@Rargh Did you guys agree beforehand that you couldn’t use a spec restore pool after each kill? I’m sure you can see the benefit of doing that
Is link still having power issues

I clicked thinking the video was gonna be "We kill zulrah until it drops us a total of 1000 scales."
Obviously a really low number, but maybe pick a common drop for a couple bosses/strong monster's drop tables and do a video with that concept.
Might be kinda cool to see "we kill sire until we have 100 binding necklaces" or something
Zulrah til 1k scales could literally be over in 2 kills with the right rng though. it's not even that rare to get the 500 scale drop.
I would’ve gone for chaos druids vial drops and made super attack/strength pots. Wouldn’t have taken too many scales and is a big dps boost.
"We're fillin slots we're fillin slots"
Idea for PVP challenge: A clue scroll only! At least the first 3 tiers. 15 easy 10 medium 5 hard clues. Something along those lines :)
I’d give anything for these to come out twice a week instead
I literally watch every video rargh and link post. God like video makers
anyone else notice they basically do the exact same thing ? blows my mind how similar their tastes and ideas are.
What if you guys did a clue scroll fight? You can only complete a certain amount of clues like.... 5 masters, 10 elites, 20 hards, 35 mediums or 50 easy clues. You can do the spinning wheel to pick.
Don’t know if the banned item rule has been used before but i definitely recommended it a few videos ago :p
Keep up the great content! You always make my day better when I see your guys videos! ❤️
You should do a challenge where you both try to make as much money as possible from nothing for one hour, then you can buy whatever you want from the GE for the fight.
That mace pisses me off. So sorry Rargh... freakin jagex and their unbalanced weapons
the teleport of shame lmao
what a creative video idea, love it!!
Why not use serp helm and poison...?
"Com, yes" - Rargh 2020
Bosses only, fill all available slots with first item dropped locking into place. I want to see some heavy RNG. This one may take more time to complete though
LOL I thought you started rapping at the end thanking the patreons
Fast weapons are OP
It's sad isn't it?
When you were explaining the rules I thought just wait till you venom the mob then stop wasting scales on it lol
