This week's episode has Jerry and Justin going through listener write-ins relating to mixed up memos. Sometimes in life, people just aren't on the same wavelength.. whether the memo was never sent or it's getting completely ignored we're trying to sort the best way to deal with it. From someone who has a fiancé that just up and left out of the blue, to someone that is dealing with a roommate that is trying to make moves on her some memos need to be sent.

Oh my gosh. Story 5. I was roommates with my best friend freshman year of college. I wasted YEARS being friends with a horrible person that always ditched me for the bf of the month. When people show you who they are, believe them. You deserve real friends.

For story 5, they are definitely NOT being oversensitive. The writer should 100% distance herself from Maddy and just turn the relationship into just a roommate thing. I agree that the writer should tell Maddy that she needs to pay rent, but honestly after the lease is up you should def leave or find someone else to take her place if she wants to move. I really feel for OP, I've been in a similar position before and it's so hurtful when your friend is ignoring/using you and continously leaves you out. The fact that OP voiced how she needed support and went through losing her mom yet Maddy STILL couldn't even be there for her?! I hope OP reads this and knows you deserve better friends than that, drop her!
Story 1: I had a similar situation with my ex and my cousin. It has been 7 years now. I am still waiting on the karma part.😅
However, I am so happy now that I didn't marry him and that we don't have kids together.
I am 6 months married to a great man and we gave a 2 month old boy.
To OP: you will find someone who will treat you how you deserve to be treated❤

I’ve always listened on Spotify, and I’ve just came on RUclips to confirm that Holly is not a person. Because this is the first time I listened to you guys talk about Holly and said, wait it sounds like they are talking to a dog, I legit thought you guys had an intern called Holly 😂😂😂

the last story baffles me. 'bestie' has been a fairweather friend for a few years. ditch her and make better friends and roomies. can't pay rent? she needs to move in with precious boyfie or back home. the end.
Story 5; gurl, just give up. That is not a friendship anymore. I have seen this happen time and time again with other people and myself- the second your friend loses all contact with reality bc they are too busy f*cking around, its done. Not to say there is anything wrong with experimenting and seeing what fits, im all for that but you dont just up and abandon people completely. There is life outside of just romantic pursuits. Not even a spouse should interrupt a friendship to this extent. This is not "a season in life" , this is an active choice of hers to invest more in a random guy who is probably gonna be a stranger in another 2-3 months instead of giving up one fucking evening to be with a grieving friend. You deserve better!
( Sending hugs as my mom also has Alzheimer's and its a fecking bitch of a disease)
Story 4: I literally just went through this conversation with my mom. I'm the second of 6 and ages range from 11-41. Parents in an ugly divorce, mom plays victim knowing he's cheated for 40yrs. I set a hard boundary with my mother, told her I don't have to capacity to be her therapist anymore. I get you think our father is an a$$, but he's still OUR father. You CHOSE him for us. I also told her I'm done with the toxic relationship and if that's what she wants go find it with someone else cause I'm done.
It's the only conversation she wants to have with any of us 6 children. I've pushed her to get into therapy and she has 1500 excuses for not taking care of her mental and physical health.
In the end, I told her don't call me unless you want a healthy relationship with with me. But I'm done with dealing with the bull crap. She hasn't called me in 2 months but will text to ask for money.
Not the first time I've had to say a hard boundary. They didn't know my number or where I lived for 5 yrs and couldn't care either way.
Don't be like me OP let them deal with their own life and don't waste your energy waiting and hoping for change. You'll be waiting for a while... Good luck! Take care of you first.
hey! i’m the OP from story #4 and thank you! i’m sorry that you also have experienced this but i’m jealous of your ability to set the boundaries AND keep them.
@@mariahgray27 ohhh it's been a process... Yrs of my on individual therapy and many tural an error boundaries that I learned over time it has to be a hard boundary.
My relationship with my parents was already strained prior... Abandoned the older siblings when we were still in high school my sister in 8th grade. Stopped paying anything on the house we were living in. I cut them off... And because my husband is EXTREMELY close to his family he wanted me to work in it with mine. He regrets his decision every day. He now understands my family will always be who they are. But I can choose to not interact with them.
I hope things are going well for you!? Keep your head up! It's hard to break away from toxic family.

One of my friends tells me whatever feelings you have for this person is PRACTICE. I looove that advice. It works even when you’re already in in a relationship. The ideas you have of the perfect partner, they are practice! I believe in you, you are a strong independent person who is badass at playing all the instruments you play - you got this :)

Omg, can totally relate to what Justin says about story 1 about if someone is talking about all the future plans. Had a similar experience as this OP years ago. Dodged a bullet not marrying that person!

When i heard story 1 all i could think about is that the other girl is pregnant. if it wasn’t ring clarity hitting him then she’s pregnant already and feels like he must go with her.
With Story 5...I would move out. She isn't a good friend and is also a freeloader, so either she needs to leave or OP needs to leave. I wouldn't stay in that situation.

Forgive me for being on a dif account but for the story of the girl who can’t move on in the quartet i feel yall missed something huge. She needs to pour that love into herself. With her saying she is always the one who loves too much i think she might just need time alone and give herself that love until the right person comes along. It’s like she’s attracting these types of relationships. I know for sure that’s been the case for me. I always love people who don’t seem to reciprocate and I had to realize I’m a girl worth fighting for and these type of guys ain’t worth 💩 or my time.
Jerry I think has ALOT of confidence in men...no not EVERY man will drop their LONGTERM..LONGTIME gf "highschool sweetheart" for someone new...many will stay with them until they are older and realize they grown apart...what if this is her CHANCE? If she can risk it and leave...maybe tell him if she feel shes had any reciprocated feelings...life is risks and takin shots! If their relationship is strong he won't stray.
