Me too. I can hold a plank with a 100kg sandbag on my hips and lower back for 30 seconds. That's more like my cup of tea.

For me friction is the most key element. Doing a plank on a rubber floor is so much easier than on a wooden one

I love planks! And leg lifts! I do 1 minute holding a plank. Then I do 2 leg lifts for a minute straight. Not only do I want to strengthen my core. But also increase stamina. 🤘🏼☯️

You could do this insetad of normal ab exercises works the abs like crazy you need to do it for more than 5 minutes though.
And I absolutely hate them! Mostly because I've got really weak ABS compared to the average intermediate athlete, so static ABS holds are extremely hard. I'd rather do 3x30 leg raises than 3x30 seconds static ABS holds😅
@@Rayan-mz2co dude…they are always difficult at first. With almost everything it’s a pain in the behind at first. But if you keep doing them it will become much easier. Don’t give up! The human body is amazing in almost every way.

5 minutes is overkill
I stopped doing them I just started as a video started and as you were explaining to add your lats I did after a minute my total was about 2 minutes and 50 seconds and it's mostly my thighs right above my knee were burning after I started tensing everything else but my abs were starting to begin the burn

With a good form I can do between 3:30-3:50,but I don't train planks often.I add them once in a while.But I remember 4years ago I was struggling to do 1:30.😂 If you train progress will come for everyone.Keep working one and good luck.

I can do a 10 minute plank. When you do this exercise for long it warms your body up. Works your abs like crazy I do the straight arm plank so it works the shoulders and you feel it your wrist at the end. You need to do the plank for long periods. This exercise gets your squads pumped too you feel it in your chest too. This is a full body exercise.

What’s the difference between doing planks on arms/hands instead of elbows, or are they basically the same?
I do this version its harder and works the shoulders and wrists more.
Alsow works on straight arm strength. The planks an easier version of the planche.
@@VickersVickers-rk8uk yeah I feel it in the shoulders after a while when I do straight arm, so the straight arm is called planche and the elbow version is called plank?

I extend planks to fully outstretched hands, not even forearms.
can any one help me i have one rep max pull up80kg but my front lever and muscle up are not improving why

without straining, i could almost do 60 seonds

Take in mind tho planks are a lot worse for muscle growth than other dynamic exercises because its static

The ONLY time planks become meh, is when it’s diminishing returns… I.e. your too strong to benefit properly.
