One of the absolute best, most reliable motors Honda has ever put in a dirt bike. I have two of these currently, jetted and piped, they rip. I've owned 5 total.
True, but pretty much all of the Honda single cylinder four-strokes are bulletproof reliable and always have been. I've owned a '99 XR250R since it was new, and it's never had any issues of any kind, and it's nearly 20 years old. I will buy another Honda dirt bike, but never sell the XR. I honestly have no idea how they build engines that are this durable.
I have a crf 230f 2018, oil change is all it needs it's bullet proof never ever had I a problem. I didn't take care of it so plastics are not nice but the engine damn it really surpassed any idea I had I, would never sell it. Where I live you cant buy them anymore they don't make them instead they have the 250f which doesn't come close to the 230. Hella of a bike great and engine and looks good too. Now I want to get an xr400 or a crf 450r 2016/2017. Where I live there is hundreds of dirtbikes, yz, crf, rmz, and many xrs 250r, 400r, 600r, 650r .
I wouldn’t say it’s exactly light but damn a stock 230 really hammers I’ve got a 2018 crf230f something I’d never regret and we’ll for all those kids wondering it’s faster than an yz85 hahaha don’t waste money buy this beast!!!
@@tristan.y Depends what you want to use it for, how much you are going to ride it, how much effort you want in maintenance and finally if you want this to be your main bike or rather a bike you feel the water with and then move on to one that you will stick with for a long time.
I'm buying my second bike now with honda. Going with the 230 crf f, and a 110 crf f for my son marcus. Were getting them tomorrow and want to thank Honda for the love of motorcycles, I will only ride honda. ❤❤🤘🤘🏍🏍
Was my second dirt bike, started with a 80cc 2 stroke Suzuki and went to a 2006 CRF230F it was slow to a point where it was actually fast around the track
It's kind of sad that this bike and the Yamaha still does not have a rear disc brake. I mean for heaven's sake disc brakes are safer and stop better. I don't really think that should be considered and how we can keep these bikes cheap....
However they are really useful on downhills where the terrain is insanely choppy and the incline is moderately steep and you want to have smooth application of braking power without locking up. I.e you can give the breaks a bit of a squeeze with minor panic without locking up yet when you need enough just slam it.

Its an electric start XR200 with a XR250 front rim and disk....cant argue Iive have more fun on a XR200 in woods then my YZ426F
Honda didn't produce a 2018 Honda CRF 230F I thought"Thankfully the CRF230F is making its return for 2019 as Honda didn't build a 2018 CRF230F"
Honda produced the crf230f until 2020. I have a 2019.

I found a clone made in China $1500 brand new. Called a titan 250 dxl
Why would Honda make both the 230f and 250f?
For people like me who want more power but are too small for a 250f. The ride height on a 230f is a inch an a half lower.
