Things I've noticed in the past month: 1. Obviously, and first and foremost, less modders. Now it's maybe once a week. Before, every single session had multiple. 2. The lazy little sh*ts begging for money and rp drops in chat have all but vanished entirely. I think I've seen one player begging in the past couple weeks. 3. More unskilled greifers. They're either former menu users trying to make do without, or noobs who bought their account when they quit. 4. Spambots now appear less often, and usually post one or two times in chat before leaving, instead of flooding chat with non stop ads for an eternity. 5. The game now runs like it's supposed to. I'd gotten so used to modders killing all scripts in sessions, that the amount of freemode events that pop up now is almost overwhelming. 6. Now when I call my mechanic, he doesn't tell me "I can't right now" for no apparent reason, he actually says "on the way" and my vehicle appears! It's incredible!
I can't stay connected to other players anymore, I keep ""leaving" or eveeyone else has "lefted" , even if I play with one person (wll obviously we can't anymore) Anyone have ideas? (No its not the net, I tested that by connecting to different modems and dongles and the exact same thing happens, yes upnp was always on on the modem, tried everything from firewall stuff to the high priority on the exe etc etc etc and nothing works ) No problem joining lobbies or get dropped in them, but it takes around a minute or 5mins and everyone ""leaves"" Please help. I don't want to be just a solo player
The fact that modders/hackers responded to the anti-cheat by DDOSing Rockstar's servers just shows how petty and childish they are. If they can't have fun (by ruining the game for everyone else), then *_no one else can._*
we did that not just becouse of "we cannot hack anymore ouww" no. (At this time we could and still can now). It was MOSTLY becouse innocent people were targeted (Lunux players cant play anymore, steamdeck players cant play anymore, people who never cheated got banned too sometimes)

Linux users and Deck users being cut out of the game due to Rockstar's laziness. I’m sure someone will comment, saying it’s not Rockstar’s fault and that Linux users should just use Windows. The fact is, BattleEye has support for Linux; Rockstar just needs to enable it. Another argument I’ve seen is that it would make it easier for cheaters, but that doesn’t make sense. Barely 2% of Steam users are Linux players, and even fewer play GTA. Little Timmy isn’t going to swap entire operating systems just to try to mod and risk getting banned anyway.
I have no issues with Linux, but let's remember that GTA V was never officially released with Linux compatibility. The game runs on Linux thanks to Valve's "Proton" project, just like many other titles. I believe Rockstar Games doesn't see Linux as a viable platform because it lacks a large enough player base. Hopefully, this changes in the future, as Linux has gained significant ground in recent years.

Not really, but I'll save y'all from having to watch the video: Hasn't changed a thing other than break hundreds to thousands of mods, cause the game to perform worse for legit players, while the hackers bypassed the whole thing within a couple of hours. And when Cockstar tweak it to fix that, it's bypassed again in a couple more hours. The best way to play and enjoy the game at all is through console now, especially next-gen, not only do you get the better graphics, and a consistent 60fps, but you don't have to deal with idiot hackers. Especially since you won't have an always-running, constantly monitoring spyware program to worry about in the background either.
I agree this is a good start, the fps drops will obviously be addressed and fixed once they feel as if they’ve gotten the patches to a point where they can make the changes needed without messing with the anticheat. All the people complaining about it are clearly the kids using the mod menus that keep rebuying new ones just for a patch to come out, making a cycle where eventually all the kids will run out of ways to bypass rockstars patches, atleast that’s my hope
The anti cheat working as it is now has actually encouraged me to return to public sessions and and I’m enjoying the game more than I have in a long time. I’m running a ryzen 9 5900x and a rtx 3060ti and haven’t noticed any drop in fps.
i guess it depends what settings your playing it at because i have a i7 12700 with a 3070ti an i play it in 4k everything maxed out i used to get 80-100fps now it like 50-70fps
@@halocdpsn im 5600x and 3070ti i play at max 1080p (yes im still on 1080p lol) and no noticeable impact, i cant say for sure as i never really paid attention to my fps beforehand but it fells just as fast as it was before.

I for example could EASILY get 60fps with my rtx2060 (and i see that when going in online without battleye enabled) and yes, i can do that becouse i still use a mod menu. But with battleye enabled i get around 40-30fps. That is just insane to me

Sadly, I've heard reports from other people that perhaps BattlEye anti-cheat has done more harm than good - the modders are not entirely eliminated; some have even already found ways to bypass the anti-cheat; and some of them are even fighting back by cyber attacks aimed at Rockstar. It really does seem that Rockstar will never win the war against modders and hackers.
*FPS Drop problem:* I played for almost a year with one of the performance heaviest graphics mods IN ONLINE. (mod is called (Natural Vision evolved). I got around 60-40 FPS with NVE. After the battleye update i now get 50fps MAX. (Solo session). with a normal public session I now get around 40-30FPS and the game looks ass. See the problem?
I started playing online in march and it definitely improved the public sessions by a LOT now you can free roam and do delivers basically in any public sesh in peace before u never knew if u were going to be teleport to Paleto that would happen in every session, but yesterday some modders were literal crashing whole lobbies i couldn't play because of that it got that annoying.

Wrong there were Grown adults too using them or aka Men child who uses them and paid Mod menu. I spoke to one of them before they used either a mod menu or another software they paid for to DDOS me for 5 minute which is not cool because it wa during covid 19 when people were working from home and I can't afford to lose my work which gives me money haha. Good thing it was on a weekend.
I had a lot of modder players added in my friend list, and for as wrong as this will sounds like, watching them suffering trying to join the game with a mod, getting banned and others literally stopping playing because they're incapable of play without being the "god of the session" was really satisfying. One of them said to me that he was having problems to inject the mod, I only said: "git gud now 😎"
Was in a lobby for 4 hours yesterday... not one cheater showed up to boot or kill the lobby it was glorious. Same today was on for a few hours and no cheaters in sight so hopefully Rockstar can keep up the fight but also address the issues some players are having since the anti cheat was added.
@skyecloud968 I've only seen one cheater in a whole week, out of like 20 servers! That is a massive difference than before where every server had 5+, I did have a bit of a drop in performance but I changed my refresh rate to 165 fro. 240 and it fixed, I can actually play now

2:56 Absolutely sucks, I don't think they'll ever fix the Linux compatibility. Battleye does have a thing in the control panel which allows Wine/Proton but if R* still hasn't flicked the switch to allow it, then it's likely they won't. There goes all the time I, and many other Linux players, spent in this game. Just like that. And R* doesn't even offer refunds or anything, they just don't care about us. RIP my character I've been rolling with since 2016.

I sure do miss custom engine speeds and downforce tuning. Also becoming a cop model and having real police bodyguards was fun, actual cop gameplay lol.
Don't forget to mention the abilitt to turn off dripfeeding so you don't have to wait months until the desired car drops or the ability to get back all the removed 180 vehicles.
the latest 3371 patch (the one that came out on 10/15, basically 3 days ago) has not been bypassed yet and I doubt it will be bypassed within the next few days or even weeks because of what this update changes, so play safe while you still can
Expended and Enhanced will most likely fix performance since you and everyone else at this point is CPU limited and ray tracing is just as cpu intensive as gpu so they will most likely update the game to use more than 4 cores. Either that or add something to the game that no matter how good of hardware you have won't be able to use the new feature.
re you sure it's modders, the games randomly glitching for some players currently. You can get stutters and frame drops long enough to be removed from the session. Had it today with the towtruck mission. Ryzen3950, 64GB and a 3080ti.
My main gripe with Rockstar is that PC is by far the worse place to play any of their games. They not only hate their audience but despise the PC player base. I really hope they can get their act together for GTA6's launch on pc
GTA V PC version only utilizes a maximum of 4 CPU cores, so that's a pretty bad thing for people who have a 6-core or 8-core CPU. Basically it means that the game is not using all the available power from CPUs that have more than 4 cores. And to my understanding, most PC gamers by now have atleast a 6-core CPU. Not sure if it's the same case with GPU usage.
I believe it's even worse than you described, because modern systems actually have two threads per core. I'm pretty sure GTA only utilizes 4 threads. On a 6 core system, you would have 12 threads, and GTA only uses a measly 1/3 of them.
After doing some googling, I'm less sure about this because it seems like it does get a benefit from more cores. I'm not sure if this four core thing is true, but idk.
I just wish I could play Online on my steamdeck again. It was really fun to just play GTAO anywhere on the go, especially for where I work. I hope they eventually allow Linux users to enjoy the full game again. At least for now, I can still play Red Dead Online on my steamdeck.
Somebody already said this, but E&E is most likely coming to PC, and that probably will fix the FPS problem with the new anti cheat. I heard someone saying the its coming on November, but i think its gonna release with the December update
Battle Eye loads the processor and not the video card, and only certain blocks and certain libraries in the operating system. A joint approach is needed here windows intel amd 😐
Stop using your 4090 as a reason why you should get high framerates, that's not how it works. Your PC is not just a graphics card, other components matter as well. GTA Online is very CPU-heavy (you would know this if you had ever looked at your GPU-utilisation while in game). You could achieve significantly higher framerates with a much slower GPU by pairing it with an AMD X3D-CPU.
I know, I have a 5950x. It was just a way to highlight that a high end system(s) shouldn't have to deal with these kinda drops in performance. It's to highlight the issue many of us as facing since the patch(es) have dropped. GTA V is bound to only using 4 cores of your CPU. So maxing out settings to shift everytihng towards GPU or whatever doesnt work either. It's out of my hands. And no, I'm not going to buy a x3d CPU just for GTA V. I have the 5950x, because I stream at the same time. And I'm sure that its not too old at this point.
@@Gtamen as weird as it sounds, the 5950x really sucks for gaming and GTAV specifically and is worse then a 5800x GTAV maxes out at 4 threads, anything beyond that won't get used, the 5950x has 16 cores and 32 threads, more importantly those cores and threads are split on multiple CCDs, what this means is that the 5950x isn't 1 CPU its more like 2 CPUs glued together, the first 8 cores 16 threads are on 1 chip the other 8 and 16 on another, this is REALLY bad for gaming as there is latency between these chips, so if a game is using 1 core on CCD1 and 1 core on CCD2 it will run WORSE then a CPU with 1 CCD for this reason its recommended for gaming to have an 8 core 16 thread CPU if you are going AMD, as these CPUs have 1 CCD, not 2, and perform better due to having no latency bottleneck for gaming specifically you can't just go "Biggest number = best" for CPUs, GPUs sure because GPUs are made with gaming in mind, CPUs are meant for, literally everything, and the top end CPUs on AMDs side sacrifice gaming performance for better multi core performance for applications like video editing, Blender, home server software, things that use A LOT of threads, and gaming, does not use that many, even modern games see maybe 8 threads used, which would be 4 physical cores
@flamingscar5263 yea, but there you said it too. Video editing. It's literally doing everything it should. I'm not the gaming CPU customer. I'm the stream, edit, and game at the same time customer. So for that particular reason, I went with the 5950x. Because it does every (very) well. I've run Cyberpunk with RTX, and everything maxed on a relatively stable 60fps. And when the game takes a nosedive in performance after a patch. I find it hard to blame it on anything else but that.
Of course the game shouldn't have performance issues on a 5950X, I merely mentioned X3D-CPUs as an example because GTA V benefits greatly from 3D V-Cache. The game has had general optimasation issues for years (not because of the 4-core limitation, but because of all the additional stuff added to the map in Online). There is also a bug specific to AMD CPUs that reduces framerates significantly when too many light sources are being rendered (like when looking at the city at night). I'm only arguing that bragging with a 4090 is not the right way to highlight these issues, because any somewhat balanced setup will be CPU-limited in this game.
I don't think BE will long last as chinese skids have already found a way to run their mods when BE is enabled and soon every other mod maker will do the same..
I remember having a GTX 660 when the game came out lol, within months I had to buy an SSD to keep the game running. It was still too choppy to compete in races because the choppy frames would drop me back an insane amount. I have a 1660 super rn and the game is still on the SSD and it runs perfectly at high settings.
As a pc player myself... i believe it has improved the game since the anti cheat was installed. I have been playing in public lobbies the last month, before i never did

I run a Ryzen 5700x and rtx 3080. Literally dropped 5 frames at most, i hit over 100fps consistently at 1440p max everything basically. No noticable change
@@huffie00 Yep.. an people complaining the game is a grind.. simple answer: Just don't grind. Buy a few passive business and just do whatever you want in the game. I've never really hurt for money and I haven't really gone for a grind in many years.
Oh it's so awesome having the game back. In some ways, having it truly at it's peak since it literally came out on Steam. Been having a blast. The only thing I've encountered in a week of heavy playing has been one guy running God Mode, and he couldn't seem to retaliate when I kept running him over so I suspect he was using one of the console born god mode exploits.
I don't know anything about PC, but I do know that R* very often upgrades the game, and this is not mentioned by anyone... Most recent were the added/upgraded (light) reflections on skyscrapers. Also the reflections of surroundings on the wet streets, which now causes loading issues for custom race (prop) tracks, that don't always spawn on time when racing at high speeds in rain. There was a long time that this was not a problem for the then new and now current gen consoles.
So for the performance issues. I'm on a 10 year old potato of a PC and need to have everything at rock bottom (including editing settings file to remove all shadows) to get the RAM usage, which is my bottleneck, down low enough to not have any stutters/freezes, as I'm a drifter and any stutters is just death when you're doing high level drifting. I'm mostly in solo invite only sessions doing car bench-marking and tuning lately and what I've noticed is that since the Battleye patch the game will slowly but surely start to absolutely BLAST your HDD (yes, old PC so no SSD). This starts around the 1-2hr mark and then gets progressively worse the longer the game is on. At first you have like 0.2s freezes every 5-10 minutes. Then they get more frequent and longer as time goes on. I once left the game on the black afk kicked screen for like 6 hours while I was away doing other things and came back to 15+ second long freezes and basically permanent 100% read and write on my HDD making the game effectively DDoS my HDD. As soon as you restart the game, it all is fixed again. So it's like a memory leak, except it isn't affecting your memory it's just starting to read/write more and more to your drive as time goes on (and no it's not the page file as far as I can tell, it's actual read/write). This never ever happened pre patch, and is 100% consistently happening every single time I play since the patch.
It didn't work, because I started playing the game a little under a week ago.. and in my first few lobbies I was presumably modded/hacked? because my rank went from 11 to over 200 and now the game feels shallow. Thankfully they never gave me money so I have some reason to keep playing. I even contacted rockstar, gave them all my info and asked them if they could reset my rank to 11 but they just reply with bots asking for details I already gave.
I mean it seems like people fears about cernal level anti cheat are completely unfounded as I have never heard anyone get hacked from playing a game with that level of anti cheat dispite it being a few years and those games being popular and many at this point...
My pressumption for the performance drops is might ve with the drivers. I haven't gotten any problems with my performance after the anti cheat as I have my game optimized via GeForce Experience and limited to 70FPS via the control panel. I think you should check on that
As for the frames problem, it's most likely BattleEye threads clogging the CPU. That said, I feel like I want to give it a bit more time before I download the game again. I'm waiting for cheating becoming near non-existent and those performance issues being fixed. Also, I'd love for the game to be less grindy. I don't have that much time I can spend on games, and even then, I'd like to play something else than GTA so I don't burn out.
Disabling Battleye does NOTHING because it will still run in the background and record your session; so this helps Rockstar to check the records through Battleye

GTA Online is a more CPU demanding than GPU. You can tell because the behavior of the NPC in the city, every car park has a programing like the alarm goes when you break in or hit the car. GTA Online has so many details put in the game that is not GPU limited is CPU bandwidth demanding
Last month of 2024, literally got teleported to the highest skyscraper, gota bunch of armor and health dropped on me ... Got sent my Chiliad in mah bikini, got teleported Back into the city, had my car changed into a mariachi band all riced out and had the cheater do horrible attempts with my own drift car. Was an experience
The best anti-cheat we can have that ain't kernel level is somebody watching us while we play (like an admin or a developer) that can judge based on the money, ammo, guns, mission we have can judge if we are legit or not, unless Rockstar hire ~1mill+ admins or devs that will do this for each player 24/7, then the best solution is AI anti-cheat that watches the player 24/7 and based on weird inputs (like flying for having weird mechs on top of a smart car), weird rewards of money gathered from nowhere (like mods that modify rewards of mods that give straight up money out of thin air) can judge if the player is cheating or not and get banned.
Guys chill rn every mod is updating or offline. It’s only for 2 months or something. Already there are couple of cheats which bypassed battle eye anti cheat and still people who use steam doesn’t have to bypass or it isn’t even enabled for the people who play in steam. And the account in market are in the price of 5£ or something so it isn’t end. They planning for something big
Literally yesterday all day I couldn't play public lobbies because hackers have been doing insane things like causing crashes with loud distorted death noises and also spamming cash drops. I feel like this was filmed before yesterday. I'm not a streamer either. Also There is no fix for battle eye and linux. The switch for battle eye to allow linux is literally a bypass so that's a no go since that would allow hackers to just use the linux client as it fully bypasses the anti-cheat. Also the best anti-cheats aren't kernel level, kernel level anti-cheat is just a gimmick and vulnerability at this point and some devs have started to move passed it to better options.
... I am extremely weirded out by the fact that people are reporting not just mod menus, but mod menus that are doing things that mod menus haven't been able to do for like 4 years (cash drops) or 2 years (loud banging sounds). I've not run into anything like that so far. Honestly not accusing you of anything but it's odd that all these reports include already patched out things that were impossible pre-anticheat
Kernel level AC is the best in its industry. The spyware industry, mind you. I'm sure they would never abuse total unrestricted access to your files and machine
To be fair as a legit player I won't touch GTAO since implementation of this kernel-level spyware ever again. That's the reason why - not the fact that anticheat was implemented, but what was implemented instead of an actual working anticheat.
These mod client owners are going to forever bypass the anti cheat. BE is known to be bypassed with one large game like rainbow six siege. Its going to go back to normal (modders in every lobby) which is sad still
little bit less modders but strong one are still there, return like before overall, and game crash sometimes. if anti-cheat is experiment on gta 5 for featuring using on gta 6... a lot job to do for fix it.
At least for the money part, I believe it's some rebellion against Rockstar. A lot of people think that GTA has become too much of a grind, and believe that the exorbitant prices on everything is Rockstar trying to force shark cards down our throats. As for the godmode and stuff, honestly yeah I agree, there's zero fun in it and it's just being a shitty person.
Wont defend against the godmode & stuff, but for the money part? I was simply not willing to invest any more of my time on getting cash just so I can actually get what I want to play with. I know that there are ways besides modding to gain cash, but I was also invested in other games like Elden Ring & Minecraft, and personally those 2 weights more compared to GTA V. I do occasionally boot up private session with friends just to mess around with the godmode & stuff, just for fun. But never in Public Servers.
I really hope this works. Normal players should be able to play in public sessions of an online game with relative ☮️. ( I say relative because griefers will always exist; but you can easily defend yourself against them.)
It has been great being able to play GTA online on PC without annoying modders. Funnily enough after dealing with god mode modding wnkrs for so long any griefer is surprisingly easy to take out. Still the odd modder in the occasional session (doors etc fall of car, kicked from session etc) but soooo much less than before. I think the insta bans when detected are proving wonderfully effective.
I don't understand how the servers work. I'll enter one and it's just random then somehow I'll gain a bunch of levels and some cash. It's like the modders trigger events or something
Regarding the performance - GTA V doesn't care about your GPU past a certain point, what matters is your CPU, since that does all the heavy lifting when it comes to NPC's and cars and other objects in the world. I would personally recommend an X3D chip from AMD, since those give a tremendous fps boost in CPU bound games. As for mod menus, they are usable, just not in public sessions, because the way it works is that if you bypass the Battleye requirement and join without it in a session with players, who have Battleye on, those players will serve as sort of detectors themselves and the anticheat will know if you use Battleye or not via those players and then consequently ban you, if you don't. This is why you can only use it in a session with no other players.
Of course they'll try their best to get this to work as they want to make more money and not let people mod in the new gta online which will come with gta 6
Funny just this day i saw a ad from a video of a gta modder for money drops on every platform. Lolz that was not the old DNS trick but the actual private session mod menu's
I went in one public session after the battle eye update, the modders on that session was worst than what I've seen in a year before, plus now I can't even play on my steam deck
I've been playing on invite only sessions for about a year and a half and in fact, I've noticed better performance on the game after the anticheat. I play both on PC (16GB RAM, i5-2310, GTX1050 2GB) and less capable laptop (8GB RAM, Ryzen3 3200U and its iGPU). I have them locked to 60 and 30FPS (respectively, for reasons) and I've rarely seen my PC dip below that while even then, my laptop sits at 20-30. Sure, laptop thrashes a lot but I blame that on the low amount of shared RAM than anything else 🤣 Just today I hopped into a public session just to see how it was and I was surprised to get in a mostly empty (5 other players) with a single level 8000 that quickly emptied away during a business battle. 🤷♂
Over the last week ive been notification spammed multiple times, I've seen ramps and deluxos spawned in, someone made Santa's sleigh with deluxos and deers, there was an upside down lots Santos in the sky in one session...I'd say they figured out how to join public lobbies.
This is worse than dealing with modders, GTA Battleye keeps asking me to restart GTA. Third time now in 2 hours. No idea what's going on as I don't mod.
Gtamen. I am running a RTX 3070 and i9 13900K. I am playing on a 1080P 144Hz display overdrawn and downsampled from 1440P. I maintain 120-140 FPS. in-city.
GTAO's FPS seems to be more impacted by the connection stability and not the hardware itself. Go into a single lobby and your FPS will be greatly improved, but once you enter a full lobby, that drops like a rock. GTAO's online infrastructure doesn't optimize speeds since it's always tracking information for every character online in that lobby. Especially bad when the session host has a bad connection / speeds or if the script host has bad connection and speeds as well. Session host and script host can be different people. This causes the infinite loading / stuck in the clouds issue. Dedicated services would've made things easier and would've made GTAO anti-cheat much easier to enforce. For a company as large at Rockstar / TakeTwo, this would've been completely possible especially with the revenue that GTAV brought in. If the gateway was set to match make people in the same state then the FPS would probably be better as well but w/e it is what it is now.
After years of damage GTA 5s online is irreparable. The fun has already thoroughly been spoiled, the only hope this gives me is that MAYBE just maybe GTA 6 will not be a cheat fest. Though it absolutely will, knowing how coveted it is
I only play GTA V in single player mode with mods, I enjoy the Michael, Franklin and Trevor missions more than having little Timmy being a griefer online😄
I will not lie, it has worked.. 2 weeks in a public session and not one hacker.. just the usual toxic sweats going around but the the FPS is bad.. that random spike from 100FPS to 20FPS is shit and happens frequently in public sessions.
I have a ryzen 5 3600 and rtx 3060 and I get low fps but the problem is that it is accompanied by low cpu usage and low gpu usage no matter how much I increase the graphics settings or decrease them the fps remains fairly stable with just the gpu usage changing and not surpasing 40% on a 180hz monitor with vsync off (game bar and full screen optimization are also off from what people on Reddit recommend) so I believe the problem to be that on low settings the game isn't pushing the gpu for more frames rather than higher graphically intensive ones and it's quite annoying how choppy it gets...
The utilization is low, because your CPU is holding you back. The game is really CPU bound. Upgrade to an X3D chip and you should be seeing a big difference.
@@X_irtz if it is CPU bound, like you said the CPU would be working hard but low utilization means its chilling, I know in some instances a game could be CPU bound and with low CPU utilization but I don't believe that to be the case since even in story mode I get the same problem but with slightly better fps no matter if I try to play at 1440p or 600p by the way both the CPU and the GPU hover around the 50% utilization mark almost never surpassing it unless I turn msa 4x on then the gpu shoots to 80 percent-ish I have 16gb of ram so I don't belive that to be a factor and both my thermals are in check.
@@shadi3993 Low utilization doesn't mean it's not CPU bound, the game can only utilize 4 cores at max anyways. It's the single core speed that makes it CPU bound.
@@X_irtz I understand that, and probably I'm quite cpu bound but not fully since I have a 6 core cpu if I was truly bound on all 4 the game can utilise I would expect the cpu utilisation to atleast hover around 67% or more including background processes but even with msi after burner and monitoring all the 12 threads they all usually hover around 50 and i mean all 12 of them which is why I'm not convinced it's just my cpu or atleast on my end that the whole problem lies in...
I’m a modder and the anti cheat update has changed nothing I am still modding no I’m not a dick modder running around doing a lot of BS that a lot of other modders do ik this doesn’t excuse it but I see absolutely no point in adding this anti cheat other than the fact it has removed ALOT if not all of the free menus. Personally I have run into a lot less dick modders I feel they could of use the money on either a better anti cheat because battle eye is a joke I mean look at r6😅 or just more development for the game considering this game has been out for over 12yrs with modders being in the game since very early on I don’t really see a point everyone has everything
5:45 I don't really agree with the take that "it's not the fault of the developers, it's the fault of people that play the game" At least in the case of GTA, it's not just a matter of aimhacks and esp cheats. It's a matter of literally crashing games, and basically having complete control over the lobby. These aren't simply cheaters like you see in Counter-Strike. In those games, cheating is largely inevitable because they can go as far as using a robotic mouse for aimbot. In GTA, the power that mod menus have is unprecedented. When you get crashed by a menu, it's not like it's some completely unavoidable thing that a hacker does do you. Computers do as they're told, and that's up to the code of the game. There should NEVER be a crash condition in the program as a result of a network event. Things like these are bugs, even if they can only be triggered by modified packet sent by a cheater. The game has terrible sanity checking, and lets players do things they clearly shouldn't. Of course, it's too massive of a game to fix now, but most of the power of mod menus comes from bugs in the networking logic. If the game was built properly from the ground up, we wouldn't have nearly as many issues. But it was probably made this way in haste, as Rockstar didn't seem to realize just how massive their game would get. I'm hopeful for GTA 6, as they've probably learned that online games need more careful programming than singleplayer ones
Things I've noticed in the past month:
1. Obviously, and first and foremost, less modders. Now it's maybe once a week. Before, every single session had multiple.
2. The lazy little sh*ts begging for money and rp drops in chat have all but vanished entirely. I think I've seen one player begging in the past couple weeks.
3. More unskilled greifers. They're either former menu users trying to make do without, or noobs who bought their account when they quit.
4. Spambots now appear less often, and usually post one or two times in chat before leaving, instead of flooding chat with non stop ads for an eternity.
5. The game now runs like it's supposed to. I'd gotten so used to modders killing all scripts in sessions, that the amount of freemode events that pop up now is almost overwhelming.
6. Now when I call my mechanic, he doesn't tell me "I can't right now" for no apparent reason, he actually says "on the way" and my vehicle appears! It's incredible!
Yeah the only negative so far is the drop in performance, but it's all worth it

Anyone have ideas? (No its not the net, I tested that by connecting to different modems and dongles and the exact same thing happens, yes upnp was always on on the modem, tried everything from firewall stuff to the high priority on the exe etc etc etc and nothing works )

The fact that modders/hackers responded to the anti-cheat by DDOSing Rockstar's servers just shows how petty and childish they are.

we did that not just becouse of "we cannot hack anymore ouww" no. (At this time we could and still can now). It was MOSTLY becouse innocent people were targeted (Lunux players cant play anymore, steamdeck players cant play anymore, people who never cheated got banned too sometimes)

Linux users and Deck users being cut out of the game due to Rockstar's laziness. I’m sure someone will comment, saying it’s not Rockstar’s fault and that Linux users should just use Windows. The fact is, BattleEye has support for Linux; Rockstar just needs to enable it. Another argument I’ve seen is that it would make it easier for cheaters, but that doesn’t make sense. Barely 2% of Steam users are Linux players, and even fewer play GTA. Little Timmy isn’t going to swap entire operating systems just to try to mod and risk getting banned anyway.
I have no issues with Linux, but let's remember that GTA V was never officially released with Linux compatibility. The game runs on Linux thanks to Valve's "Proton" project, just like many other titles. I believe Rockstar Games doesn't see Linux as a viable platform because it lacks a large enough player base. Hopefully, this changes in the future, as Linux has gained significant ground in recent years.

Not really, but I'll save y'all from having to watch the video: Hasn't changed a thing other than break hundreds to thousands of mods, cause the game to perform worse for legit players, while the hackers bypassed the whole thing within a couple of hours. And when Cockstar tweak it to fix that, it's bypassed again in a couple more hours.
The best way to play and enjoy the game at all is through console now, especially next-gen, not only do you get the better graphics, and a consistent 60fps, but you don't have to deal with idiot hackers. Especially since you won't have an always-running, constantly monitoring spyware program to worry about in the background either.

I agree this is a good start, the fps drops will obviously be addressed and fixed once they feel as if they’ve gotten the patches to a point where they can make the changes needed without messing with the anticheat. All the people complaining about it are clearly the kids using the mod menus that keep rebuying new ones just for a patch to come out, making a cycle where eventually all the kids will run out of ways to bypass rockstars patches, atleast that’s my hope

The anti cheat working as it is now has actually encouraged me to return to public sessions and and I’m enjoying the game more than I have in a long time. I’m running a ryzen 9 5900x and a rtx 3060ti and haven’t noticed any drop in fps.
i guess it depends what settings your playing it at because i have a i7 12700 with a 3070ti an i play it in 4k everything maxed out i used to get 80-100fps now it like 50-70fps

Lmao I’ve been modding online since before and after the anti-cheat and I’m still using menu online
Sadly, I've heard reports from other people that perhaps BattlEye anti-cheat has done more harm than good - the modders are not entirely eliminated; some have even already found ways to bypass the anti-cheat; and some of them are even fighting back by cyber attacks aimed at Rockstar. It really does seem that Rockstar will never win the war against modders and hackers.
*FPS Drop problem:*
I played for almost a year with one of the performance heaviest graphics mods IN ONLINE. (mod is called (Natural Vision evolved).
I got around 60-40 FPS with NVE.
After the battleye update i now get 50fps MAX. (Solo session). with a normal public session I now get around 40-30FPS and the game looks ass.
See the problem?
I started playing online in march and it definitely improved the public sessions by a LOT now you can free roam and do delivers basically in any public sesh in peace before u never knew if u were going to be teleport to Paleto that would happen in every session, but yesterday some modders were literal crashing whole lobbies i couldn't play because of that it got that annoying.
Theirs always option of Invite only session btw.

The last week of GTA Online public sessions have been the most peaceful i've ever seen since the game came out.
The thing is all the free mod menus are gone which were majority of the kid modders
Wrong there were Grown adults too using them or aka Men child who uses them and paid Mod menu. I spoke to one of them before they used either a mod menu or another software they paid for to DDOS me for 5 minute which is not cool because it wa during covid 19 when people were working from home and I can't afford to lose my work which gives me money haha. Good thing it was on a weekend.

I had a lot of modder players added in my friend list, and for as wrong as this will sounds like, watching them suffering trying to join the game with a mod, getting banned and others literally stopping playing because they're incapable of play without being the "god of the session" was really satisfying. One of them said to me that he was having problems to inject the mod, I only said: "git gud now 😎"
I do still see modded names in lobbies but I don't really see them doing anything bad and the ones that do end up getting removed pretty quick.
Was in a lobby for 4 hours yesterday... not one cheater showed up to boot or kill the lobby it was glorious. Same today was on for a few hours and no cheaters in sight so hopefully Rockstar can keep up the fight but also address the issues some players are having since the anti cheat was added.
So I can come back now? is it really safe or do I need to VPN to hide myself from DDOS when I join a lobby in gta 5 online from grown ass men child?

@skyecloud968 I've only seen one cheater in a whole week, out of like 20 servers! That is a massive difference than before where every server had 5+, I did have a bit of a drop in performance but I changed my refresh rate to 165 fro. 240 and it fixed, I can actually play now
from my memory a lot of the modders i asked, a lot of them only used it to combat other modders from crashing them.

Battleye does have a thing in the control panel which allows Wine/Proton but if R* still hasn't flicked the switch to allow it, then it's likely they won't. There goes all the time I, and many other Linux players, spent in this game. Just like that. And R* doesn't even offer refunds or anything, they just don't care about us. RIP my character I've been rolling with since 2016.

Don't forget to mention the abilitt to turn off dripfeeding so you don't have to wait months until the desired car drops or the ability to get back all the removed 180 vehicles.
the latest 3371 patch (the one that came out on 10/15, basically 3 days ago) has not been bypassed yet and I doubt it will be bypassed within the next few days or even weeks because of what this update changes, so play safe while you still can
No need to doubt already, cuz you already know the answer when those modders and hacker fools actually check the checkbox and enable Battleye
Expended and Enhanced will most likely fix performance since you and everyone else at this point is CPU limited and ray tracing is just as cpu intensive as gpu so they will most likely update the game to use more than 4 cores. Either that or add something to the game that no matter how good of hardware you have won't be able to use the new feature.

re you sure it's modders, the games randomly glitching for some players currently. You can get stutters and frame drops long enough to be removed from the session.

My main gripe with Rockstar is that PC is by far the worse place to play any of their games. They not only hate their audience but despise the PC player base. I really hope they can get their act together for GTA6's launch on pc
GTA V PC version only utilizes a maximum of 4 CPU cores, so that's a pretty bad thing for people who have a 6-core or 8-core CPU. Basically it means that the game is not using all the available power from CPUs that have more than 4 cores. And to my understanding, most PC gamers by now have atleast a 6-core CPU. Not sure if it's the same case with GPU usage.
I believe it's even worse than you described, because modern systems actually have two threads per core. I'm pretty sure GTA only utilizes 4 threads. On a 6 core system, you would have 12 threads, and GTA only uses a measly 1/3 of them.
After doing some googling, I'm less sure about this because it seems like it does get a benefit from more cores. I'm not sure if this four core thing is true, but idk.

I have a 3700x 8c/16t using afterburner it basically doesn't touch anything more than 4 cores, the rest lays unused.
I used to have 2 or more modders in every lobby, now it's 1 modder in every second/third lobby. Not perfect but a huge improvement.
I just wish I could play Online on my steamdeck again. It was really fun to just play GTAO anywhere on the go, especially for where I work.
I hope they eventually allow Linux users to enjoy the full game again.

Somebody already said this, but E&E is most likely coming to PC, and that probably will fix the FPS problem with the new anti cheat. I heard someone saying the its coming on November, but i think its gonna release with the December update
Battle Eye loads the processor and not the video card, and only certain blocks and certain libraries in the operating system. A joint approach is needed here windows intel amd 😐

Stop using your 4090 as a reason why you should get high framerates, that's not how it works. Your PC is not just a graphics card, other components matter as well. GTA Online is very CPU-heavy (you would know this if you had ever looked at your GPU-utilisation while in game). You could achieve significantly higher framerates with a much slower GPU by pairing it with an AMD X3D-CPU.
I know, I have a 5950x. It was just a way to highlight that a high end system(s) shouldn't have to deal with these kinda drops in performance. It's to highlight the issue many of us as facing since the patch(es) have dropped. GTA V is bound to only using 4 cores of your CPU. So maxing out settings to shift everytihng towards GPU or whatever doesnt work either. It's out of my hands. And no, I'm not going to buy a x3d CPU just for GTA V. I have the 5950x, because I stream at the same time. And I'm sure that its not too old at this point.
@@Gtamen as weird as it sounds, the 5950x really sucks for gaming and GTAV specifically and is worse then a 5800x
GTAV maxes out at 4 threads, anything beyond that won't get used, the 5950x has 16 cores and 32 threads, more importantly those cores and threads are split on multiple CCDs, what this means is that the 5950x isn't 1 CPU its more like 2 CPUs glued together, the first 8 cores 16 threads are on 1 chip the other 8 and 16 on another, this is REALLY bad for gaming as there is latency between these chips, so if a game is using 1 core on CCD1 and 1 core on CCD2 it will run WORSE then a CPU with 1 CCD
for this reason its recommended for gaming to have an 8 core 16 thread CPU if you are going AMD, as these CPUs have 1 CCD, not 2, and perform better due to having no latency bottleneck
for gaming specifically you can't just go "Biggest number = best" for CPUs, GPUs sure because GPUs are made with gaming in mind, CPUs are meant for, literally everything, and the top end CPUs on AMDs side sacrifice gaming performance for better multi core performance for applications like video editing, Blender, home server software, things that use A LOT of threads, and gaming, does not use that many, even modern games see maybe 8 threads used, which would be 4 physical cores
@flamingscar5263 yea, but there you said it too. Video editing. It's literally doing everything it should. I'm not the gaming CPU customer. I'm the stream, edit, and game at the same time customer. So for that particular reason, I went with the 5950x. Because it does every (very) well. I've run Cyberpunk with RTX, and everything maxed on a relatively stable 60fps. And when the game takes a nosedive in performance after a patch. I find it hard to blame it on anything else but that.
Of course the game shouldn't have performance issues on a 5950X, I merely mentioned X3D-CPUs as an example because GTA V benefits greatly from 3D V-Cache.
The game has had general optimasation issues for years (not because of the 4-core limitation, but because of all the additional stuff added to the map in Online).
There is also a bug specific to AMD CPUs that reduces framerates significantly when too many light sources are being rendered (like when looking at the city at night).
I'm only arguing that bragging with a 4090 is not the right way to highlight these issues, because any somewhat balanced setup will be CPU-limited in this game.
I don't think BE will long last as chinese skids have already found a way to run their mods when BE is enabled and soon every other mod maker will do the same..

I remember having a GTX 660 when the game came out lol, within months I had to buy an SSD to keep the game running. It was still too choppy to compete in races because the choppy frames would drop me back an insane amount. I have a 1660 super rn and the game is still on the SSD and it runs perfectly at high settings.

Oh it's so awesome having the game back. In some ways, having it truly at it's peak since it literally came out on Steam. Been having a blast.
The only thing I've encountered in a week of heavy playing has been one guy running God Mode, and he couldn't seem to retaliate when I kept running him over so I suspect he was using one of the console born god mode exploits.

I don't know anything about PC, but I do know that R* very often upgrades the game, and this is not mentioned by anyone...
Most recent were the added/upgraded (light) reflections on skyscrapers. Also the reflections of surroundings on the wet streets, which now causes loading issues for custom race (prop) tracks, that don't always spawn on time when racing at high speeds in rain. There was a long time that this was not a problem for the then new and now current gen consoles.
this could actually be a class action lawsuit, its illegal to force Kernel level software without the permission of the owner of the PC.
So for the performance issues. I'm on a 10 year old potato of a PC and need to have everything at rock bottom (including editing settings file to remove all shadows) to get the RAM usage, which is my bottleneck, down low enough to not have any stutters/freezes, as I'm a drifter and any stutters is just death when you're doing high level drifting.
I'm mostly in solo invite only sessions doing car bench-marking and tuning lately and what I've noticed is that since the Battleye patch the game will slowly but surely start to absolutely BLAST your HDD (yes, old PC so no SSD). This starts around the 1-2hr mark and then gets progressively worse the longer the game is on. At first you have like 0.2s freezes every 5-10 minutes. Then they get more frequent and longer as time goes on.
I once left the game on the black afk kicked screen for like 6 hours while I was away doing other things and came back to 15+ second long freezes and basically permanent 100% read and write on my HDD making the game effectively DDoS my HDD. As soon as you restart the game, it all is fixed again. So it's like a memory leak, except it isn't affecting your memory it's just starting to read/write more and more to your drive as time goes on (and no it's not the page file as far as I can tell, it's actual read/write). This never ever happened pre patch, and is 100% consistently happening every single time I play since the patch.
I quit playing GTA on pc and when I heard GTA has an anti-cheat I start playing on pc and I saw no modders this is a dream
It didn't work, because I started playing the game a little under a week ago.. and in my first few lobbies I was presumably modded/hacked? because my rank went from 11 to over 200 and now the game feels shallow. Thankfully they never gave me money so I have some reason to keep playing. I even contacted rockstar, gave them all my info and asked them if they could reset my rank to 11 but they just reply with bots asking for details I already gave.
I mean it seems like people fears about cernal level anti cheat are completely unfounded as I have never heard anyone get hacked from playing a game with that level of anti cheat dispite it being a few years and those games being popular and many at this point...
My pressumption for the performance drops is might ve with the drivers. I haven't gotten any problems with my performance after the anti cheat as I have my game optimized via GeForce Experience and limited to 70FPS via the control panel. I think you should check on that
I was modder once but i started playing normal now but i still see some modders in my lobby daily
As for the frames problem, it's most likely BattleEye threads clogging the CPU.
That said, I feel like I want to give it a bit more time before I download the game again. I'm waiting for cheating becoming near non-existent and those performance issues being fixed.
Also, I'd love for the game to be less grindy. I don't have that much time I can spend on games, and even then, I'd like to play something else than GTA so I don't burn out.
Disabling Battleye does NOTHING because it will still run in the background and record your session; so this helps Rockstar to check the records through Battleye

GTA Online is a more CPU demanding than GPU. You can tell because the behavior of the NPC in the city, every car park has a programing like the alarm goes when you break in or hit the car. GTA Online has so many details put in the game that is not GPU limited is CPU bandwidth demanding
Last month of 2024, literally got teleported to the highest skyscraper, gota bunch of armor and health dropped on me ... Got sent my Chiliad in mah bikini, got teleported Back into the city, had my car changed into a mariachi band all riced out and had the cheater do horrible attempts with my own drift car. Was an experience

The best anti-cheat we can have that ain't kernel level is somebody watching us while we play (like an admin or a developer) that can judge based on the money, ammo, guns, mission we have can judge if we are legit or not, unless Rockstar hire ~1mill+ admins or devs that will do this for each player 24/7, then the best solution is AI anti-cheat that watches the player 24/7 and based on weird inputs (like flying for having weird mechs on top of a smart car), weird rewards of money gathered from nowhere (like mods that modify rewards of mods that give straight up money out of thin air) can judge if the player is cheating or not and get banned.
Guys chill rn every mod is updating or offline. It’s only for 2 months or something. Already there are couple of cheats which bypassed battle eye anti cheat and still people who use steam doesn’t have to bypass or it isn’t even enabled for the people who play in steam. And the account in market are in the price of 5£ or something so it isn’t end. They planning for something big
Literally yesterday all day I couldn't play public lobbies because hackers have been doing insane things like causing crashes with loud distorted death noises and also spamming cash drops. I feel like this was filmed before yesterday. I'm not a streamer either. Also There is no fix for battle eye and linux. The switch for battle eye to allow linux is literally a bypass so that's a no go since that would allow hackers to just use the linux client as it fully bypasses the anti-cheat. Also the best anti-cheats aren't kernel level, kernel level anti-cheat is just a gimmick and vulnerability at this point and some devs have started to move passed it to better options.
... I am extremely weirded out by the fact that people are reporting not just mod menus, but mod menus that are doing things that mod menus haven't been able to do for like 4 years (cash drops) or 2 years (loud banging sounds). I've not run into anything like that so far.
Honestly not accusing you of anything but it's odd that all these reports include already patched out things that were impossible pre-anticheat

To be fair as a legit player I won't touch GTAO since implementation of this kernel-level spyware ever again. That's the reason why - not the fact that anticheat was implemented, but what was implemented instead of an actual working anticheat.
These mod client owners are going to forever bypass the anti cheat. BE is known to be bypassed with one large game like rainbow six siege. Its going to go back to normal (modders in every lobby) which is sad still

I still don't understand where's the fun in mods and hacking. Infinite money, immortality... why?? It kills all the objective of playing.
At least for the money part, I believe it's some rebellion against Rockstar. A lot of people think that GTA has become too much of a grind, and believe that the exorbitant prices on everything is Rockstar trying to force shark cards down our throats.
As for the godmode and stuff, honestly yeah I agree, there's zero fun in it and it's just being a shitty person.

Wont defend against the godmode & stuff, but for the money part? I was simply not willing to invest any more of my time on getting cash just so I can actually get what I want to play with.
I know that there are ways besides modding to gain cash, but I was also invested in other games like Elden Ring & Minecraft, and personally those 2 weights more compared to GTA V.
I do occasionally boot up private session with friends just to mess around with the godmode & stuff, just for fun. But never in Public Servers.
I really hope this works. Normal players should be able to play in public sessions of an online game with relative ☮️. ( I say relative because griefers will always exist; but you can easily defend yourself against them.)

It has been great being able to play GTA online on PC without annoying modders. Funnily enough after dealing with god mode modding wnkrs for so long any griefer is surprisingly easy to take out. Still the odd modder in the occasional session (doors etc fall of car, kicked from session etc) but soooo much less than before. I think the insta bans when detected are proving wonderfully effective.
I don't understand how the servers work. I'll enter one and it's just random then somehow I'll gain a bunch of levels and some cash. It's like the modders trigger events or something
Regarding the performance - GTA V doesn't care about your GPU past a certain point, what matters is your CPU, since that does all the heavy lifting when it comes to NPC's and cars and other objects in the world. I would personally recommend an X3D chip from AMD, since those give a tremendous fps boost in CPU bound games.
As for mod menus, they are usable, just not in public sessions, because the way it works is that if you bypass the Battleye requirement and join without it in a session with players, who have Battleye on, those players will serve as sort of detectors themselves and the anticheat will know if you use Battleye or not via those players and then consequently ban you, if you don't. This is why you can only use it in a session with no other players.
So basically the latest Battleye anti cheat patch just pushed modders into a private session? That's huge!!!!
Of course they'll try their best to get this to work as they want to make more money and not let people mod in the new gta online which will come with gta 6
Funny just this day i saw a ad from a video of a gta modder for money drops on every platform. Lolz that was not the old DNS trick but the actual private session mod menu's
I went in one public session after the battle eye update, the modders on that session was worst than what I've seen in a year before, plus now I can't even play on my steam deck
I've been playing on invite only sessions for about a year and a half and in fact, I've noticed better performance on the game after the anticheat. I play both on PC (16GB RAM, i5-2310, GTX1050 2GB) and less capable laptop (8GB RAM, Ryzen3 3200U and its iGPU). I have them locked to 60 and 30FPS (respectively, for reasons) and I've rarely seen my PC dip below that while even then, my laptop sits at 20-30. Sure, laptop thrashes a lot but I blame that on the low amount of shared RAM than anything else 🤣
Just today I hopped into a public session just to see how it was and I was surprised to get in a mostly empty (5 other players) with a single level 8000 that quickly emptied away during a business battle. 🤷♂
Over the last week ive been notification spammed multiple times, I've seen ramps and deluxos spawned in, someone made Santa's sleigh with deluxos and deers, there was an upside down lots Santos in the sky in one session...I'd say they figured out how to join public lobbies.

People are updating mod menus to bypass BE
GTAO's FPS seems to be more impacted by the connection stability and not the hardware itself. Go into a single lobby and your FPS will be greatly improved, but once you enter a full lobby, that drops like a rock. GTAO's online infrastructure doesn't optimize speeds since it's always tracking information for every character online in that lobby. Especially bad when the session host has a bad connection / speeds or if the script host has bad connection and speeds as well. Session host and script host can be different people. This causes the infinite loading / stuck in the clouds issue. Dedicated services would've made things easier and would've made GTAO anti-cheat much easier to enforce. For a company as large at Rockstar / TakeTwo, this would've been completely possible especially with the revenue that GTAV brought in. If the gateway was set to match make people in the same state then the FPS would probably be better as well but w/e it is what it is now.
Over the last two days, Cheaters have been causing an extremely loud banging noise (watch your volume) and then crashing the lobby.
That's crazy given they fixed the loud banging sound *before* the BattleEye thing.

After years of damage GTA 5s online is irreparable. The fun has already thoroughly been spoiled, the only hope this gives me is that MAYBE just maybe GTA 6 will not be a cheat fest. Though it absolutely will, knowing how coveted it is

I only play GTA V in single player mode with mods, I enjoy the Michael, Franklin and Trevor missions more than having little Timmy being a griefer online😄
I will not lie, it has worked.. 2 weeks in a public session and not one hacker.. just the usual toxic sweats going around but the the FPS is bad.. that random spike from 100FPS to 20FPS is shit and happens frequently in public sessions.
I have a ryzen 5 3600 and rtx 3060 and I get low fps but the problem is that it is accompanied by low cpu usage and low gpu usage no matter how much I increase the graphics settings or decrease them the fps remains fairly stable with just the gpu usage changing and not surpasing 40% on a 180hz monitor with vsync off (game bar and full screen optimization are also off from what people on Reddit recommend) so I believe the problem to be that on low settings the game isn't pushing the gpu for more frames rather than higher graphically intensive ones and it's quite annoying how choppy it gets...
The utilization is low, because your CPU is holding you back. The game is really CPU bound. Upgrade to an X3D chip and you should be seeing a big difference.
@@X_irtz if it is CPU bound, like you said the CPU would be working hard but low utilization means its chilling, I know in some instances a game could be CPU bound and with low CPU utilization but I don't believe that to be the case since even in story mode I get the same problem but with slightly better fps no matter if I try to play at 1440p or 600p by the way both the CPU and the GPU hover around the 50% utilization mark almost never surpassing it unless I turn msa 4x on then the gpu shoots to 80 percent-ish I have 16gb of ram so I don't belive that to be a factor and both my thermals are in check.
@@shadi3993 Low utilization doesn't mean it's not CPU bound, the game can only utilize 4 cores at max anyways. It's the single core speed that makes it CPU bound.
@@X_irtz I understand that, and probably I'm quite cpu bound but not fully since I have a 6 core cpu if I was truly bound on all 4 the game can utilise I would expect the cpu utilisation to atleast hover around 67% or more including background processes but even with msi after burner and monitoring all the 12 threads they all usually hover around 50 and i mean all 12 of them which is why I'm not convinced it's just my cpu or atleast on my end that the whole problem lies in...

I’m a modder and the anti cheat update has changed nothing I am still modding no I’m not a dick modder running around doing a lot of BS that a lot of other modders do ik this doesn’t excuse it but I see absolutely no point in adding this anti cheat other than the fact it has removed ALOT if not all of the free menus. Personally I have run into a lot less dick modders I feel they could of use the money on either a better anti cheat because battle eye is a joke I mean look at r6😅 or just more development for the game considering this game has been out for over 12yrs with modders being in the game since very early on I don’t really see a point everyone has everything

At least in the case of GTA, it's not just a matter of aimhacks and esp cheats. It's a matter of literally crashing games, and basically having complete control over the lobby. These aren't simply cheaters like you see in Counter-Strike. In those games, cheating is largely inevitable because they can go as far as using a robotic mouse for aimbot. In GTA, the power that mod menus have is unprecedented.
When you get crashed by a menu, it's not like it's some completely unavoidable thing that a hacker does do you. Computers do as they're told, and that's up to the code of the game. There should NEVER be a crash condition in the program as a result of a network event. Things like these are bugs, even if they can only be triggered by modified packet sent by a cheater.
The game has terrible sanity checking, and lets players do things they clearly shouldn't. Of course, it's too massive of a game to fix now, but most of the power of mod menus comes from bugs in the networking logic.
If the game was built properly from the ground up, we wouldn't have nearly as many issues. But it was probably made this way in haste, as Rockstar didn't seem to realize just how massive their game would get.
I'm hopeful for GTA 6, as they've probably learned that online games need more careful programming than singleplayer ones
