Passively demonetisation helps India to build this UPI. Because post demonetisation every individual needs to open bank account and parallelly then govt was helping people to open zero balance account. As a matter of fact post demonetisation bank account of every indivudual is necessary and aadhar card, pan card are added extra security. Stage was perfectly prepared. Now at the time of covid pandemic ( from 2020 march April) we indians had received huge obstacles regarding our daily life transactional activities including cash/debit/credit card system. We need another payment which should have been much user friendly than online payement system like NEFT. Here comes UPI. Just using phone no. within a second payments are materialized. Just unimaginable. Again credit goes Modi.❤
