You should try Retro Game Challenge (Nintendo DS) for something with a similar premise. There's a lot less games, its different in many ways, but it is a game about going back to the 80s and playing fictional retro games.

It looks just AMAZING ! I whislisted the game months ago (when you told about it) and now I'm just matrixed by the teaser on Steam... ^^' Can't wait septembre 18th !!!
Btw Derek Yu is a GENIUS of game design and I "followed" him since his first game who was an absolute banger. It was not Spelunky but long before that, a (free) game called "Eternal Daughter" made with Multimedia Fusion and this game really marked my childhood...

damn what a cool game, reminds me of them bootleg gamecarts with 50 games on. id love to play this with my bro, sure theres some gems. also reminds me of going through a amiga disk box picking out pd games to try. very very cool and A LOT of work.
