We just found my grandmother's cookbook that went missing after she passed away in 2011. Written in the cover was a note to give it to my wife. This commercial was both beautiful and sad. My lady broke down, went and got it, then cried as she cooked some of my favorite childhood foods. It was like opening a bottle of frozen time... I could almost see my grandma standing beside her in our kitchen....

This one hits right in the feels. I lost my great uncle to dementia today. I remember having him in my life since the beginning and I'm 27 now. Rest in peace uncle Jim.
Aww, you're not alone man. I lost my 100 year old Grandfather less than 2 months ago on Halloween October 31st. My Dad called me at like 4:00 AM and left me a voice message just saying, your Grandfather is gone. I broke down in tears and just cried for like 8 hours straight.
This commercial was made for me. I lost my wife this year and I was wondering how to make some dishes for Thanksgiving dinner. Then this commercial came on TV. It is so true.

A commercial that actually makes me cry. Wow. Wonderful how they start with his home dark and not decorative like the other homes because he lost his wife, but his family brings him back from being alone and brightens everything. So Wonderful.

This commercial is so perfect. I lost my Momma many years ago, and her Mom, my Grandmother, died one year after my Momma. So I had to step up at a very young age to cook Thanksgiving dinner. And while mine is good, in my mind it will never equal my Momma and Grandma’s. They always cooked together. I miss those two wonderful women. Thank you Kroger.

Wow! This is the best holiday film I have seen in a long time! I can honestly say that this film really speaks to those who have lost family members as they celebrate the holidays with family, but still see the chair at the table that will never be filled again.

Wow. Wow wow wow. Wow. Now typically, I expect the usual holiday dribble that they churn out for commercials each year. Kroger, however, took it in a whole different direction. This is stunning. It’s a piece of art as much as it is an advertisement. This made me feel intensely for those celebrating the holidays without a loved one. Kroger, you’ve gained a life long customer, bravo!

Kroger, you did well in this commercial… It has all the feelings that Disney shared in the movie “Up”. There is a lot going on in this piece…and I would love to see more of his adventures with Isabels cookbook!
I love the detail of how he stopped decorating his home for the holidays until he got out THEIR cookbook as opposed to hers and how his family love made him feel alive. Too sweet. Best commercial! Y'all better remember to enter this one for a Clio, LIT and an Emmy!

First commercial I’ve ever searched for to rewatch on RUclips. This is such a great ad Kroger. I lost my grandmother this year and this really hit home how much I will miss traveling to her home and eating her meals around the holidays. Luckily we got her recipes and I can’t wait to make them and pass down those same traditions to my children.

Mine died earlier this year. Both of my grandmas are now gone. I still remember being dropped off at their houses when I was little. It feels weird, even now.

Probably the best commercial I've seen in a long time. My mom saw it on TV first, then asked me to find it again for her to watch/listen. She says the song is a great take on the original and that the animation is so happy and sweet. I couldn't agree more. ❤
I didn't pay attention to this film until my 5 years old son show me and my daughter explain me the meaning and now I cry every time that I see the commercial than you very much for this film .and now is our favorite we come to the t.v. every time we listen the song we pause everything and enjoy this beautiful commercial .

To me this commercial embodies the true spirit of the holiday season, spending time with loved ones and remembering the loved ones who are no longer with us. By finding his wife's old recipe book and using the recipes to prepare a feast for their family, the old man has enabled his wife to be a part of family celebrations for years to come.
Here I am, a 57 year man thinking of how when I taste a dish made with one of my grandma's old recipes I immediately think of her and how much she loved her family. It's crazy how a commercial can bring forth so many powerful memories and feelings, making a 57 year old man cry like a baby.

This commercial is beautiful but it had me in tears! I can’t help but think of my grandpa on thanksgiving. He has been gone for 4 years now and he was my best friend. The elderly man in the video looks like an animated version of him. I miss him so much

This is just wow!! I lost my mother 8 years ago at the age of 19. my first born was only 8 moths at the time. Since then, I lost my granny and my brother and this commercial speaks so many volumes for my family and I as the holidays approach and we no longer see them anymore. I am literally bawling my eyes out. Kroger's you all did great with this.

I’m 32 and I haven’t really cried in 15 years. This did it. It doesn’t help that this song was on my mp3 on the way to my grandpa’s funeral in 2006.
Man this ad hits hard on my emotions. The song fits super perfectly with the amination. As of someone who works full time as a Curtesy Clerk/bagger at a Kroger. This makes my day feel better after a long stressful shift during this Thanksgiving week. Also not to mention that my grandmother was recently diagnosed with liver cancer and we don't know how much longer she'll live.
Among all the chaos on TV now a days this commercial stood out to me and warmed my heart ❤️ thank you Kroger.

My goodness. Kroger has me all in my feels. This made me so emotional. Not only because of the beautiful memories I have of past holidays with my loved ones who are in heaven. It made me think about how my son will be off to college and on his own in a couple of years, and then starting his life as an independent man. I hope he can look back on the memories we've created with him that will make him smile and think about how loved he was and always will be. Kroger, because of this short film, hubby and I will step up our game to make even more beautiful memories for our family. Well done.

What a beautiful commercial to think of loved ones who are no longer with us. Especially around the holidays when you have a heavy heart, missing them the most. I lost my grandpa in September of 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. We were very close, and was the father figure in my life. Losing him turned my world upside down, and I'm still trying to pick up the broken pieces. My grandfather loved to cook for me and my sister, and always made delicious meals. At his house we knew we'd never go home with an empty stomach. One of his favorite things to cook was his apple pies. Right when I saw that in the commercial, I cried. It made me miss all of the wonderful times I had with my grandpa, and wishing that time could have stood still. I miss him so much. I wish grandparents could live forever. Memories are all we have left. Never forget to tell someone how much they mean to you, while they are still here with us. Thank you Kroger, I really needed this. ❤️🎄🥺

I lost my father two years ago. My girlfriend hates and doesn't want kids. I understand and respect her, I've also been away from my entire family since they're all in a different country. I don't feel too good during Christmas season because I'm either all alone in a hotel room or I feel like a stranger watching a happy family get together and do family stuff when I'm dining with the new people I meet. This commercial hits right in the feels because some of us don't even have the little ones to remind us we have family :')

At first I thought the ad was using Kina Grannis' cover of "Iris" she released a few years back, but turns out this song is Colbie Caillat's version she just released that sounds veeeerrrry similar. Either way it's a great song to choose for a holiday ad. Every time I hear it though I'll still keep thinking it's Kina's cover 😅

This short definitely reads into the fond memories of loved ones that have come and gone, whether it be through traditions, places you visit, restoring something that belonged to your loved one, or, in this case, cooking and/or baking recipes your loved ones had passed on.

When I first saw this, I knew it was a Kroger commercial because of the 3D CGI. But it tugged at the heartstrings so much, it made me think of the Publix holidays commercials.
However, having layer seen the new Publix holidays commercials for this year, Kroger finally outdid Publix.
