Fun Fact: The team that designed the TARDIS interior found out what Jodie's favorite snack was, and that's when they put in that little biscuit dispenser just for her. She didnt know about it, so that look on her face is a legit reaction.

Far from my favourite but the more they show it the more I enjoy it. Like I'm the Witchfinders (or was it Kerblam?) they did a top down shot which showed the floor and it looked really cool. Also I think the general lighting in the Tardis has looked better in the last few episodes
I really enjoyed this episode. I love the look of the new TARDIS inside and out and the Custard Cream dispenser is awesome. They said in a behind the scenes that they asked Jodie what her favourite biscuit was and that in the shot she is genuinely surprised as she wasn't expecting it.The new titles are awesome. I was talking to former Dr Who composer Mark Ayres (Radiophonic Workshop) recently and he said Segun Akinola rang him up to get a copy of the original theme to work with.
When Jodi was going around the TARDIS checking everything out, that was her REAL reaction, especially the biscuit dispenser. They asked her randomly what her favorite was, and they designed a cookie dispenser. That was true joy on her face.
I'm still getting used to the new Tardis exterior. It's so different from the others. But I'm in love with the new title sequence. It's utterly beautiful and out of this world.

Looks amazing and I love the super deep, bass-y intro. I think I may be in the minority but I also really like the new TARDIS. I like warm colours in the TARDIS and Capaldi's always left me feeling cold. However, I do agree that this episode isn't the most memorable. Surely, the benefit of having three companions is that they all bring a different perspective to the situation but all three of their reactions at being on an alien planet seemed to be "mild confusion". We also don't know them well enough yet, especially Yaz, but we spend more time hearing from the guest characters instead.
I love the new titles and theme, they're basically the natural progression of the original theme, as if it had continued evolving on itself rather than being completely replaced by JNT in the 80s. The TARDIS, it's not great, it looks like they took the coral look of 9 and 10's Tardis a bit too far, it almost looks more like a Kroton than something Time Lord. Personally if we're going with non-mechanical then I'd prefer something more like the 8th Doctor's Tardis.
Both the new TARDIS and the new title sequence have been interesting for me. The more I watch the new titles, the more I love them to the point where I now believe they are some of the best titles the show has had. The new TARDIS, however, is looking less and less impressive for me. The whole crystalline design is not for my tastes, the whole structure and layout of the pillars and column results in unimpressive camera angles and shots, and much like the Eccleston/Tennant TARDIS, it feels too small and barren. Certainly not a patch on the Capaldi TARDIS which was much bigger, more technological and more lived in.
@@abnormallynormal4614 I have seen the classics and they were fine for the time. What I meant was that given the evolution and progression of the TARDISes in Modern Who, I feel as though they've taken a massive step-backwards and made it small after the massive Capaldi TARDIS
Unpopular opinion: I do like this TARDIS, not as much as the other ones, but I like it. However, I do think they could've use the space better, maybe put some stairs and levels and stuff. That way it gets more dinamic and you have more opcions on how to do a scene. You feel me? Also, different lighting.
I think one big mistake Series 11 is doing is just not showing it enough. We'd get an interior shot most episodes, and now it's only hitting 5/9 so far appearances with barely any time dedicated to them. I think the interior's alright but we are just not seeing it enough.
I think there are plenty of options to do scenes there but they don't do them. Like one of my favourite parts of it is that hexagon wall, just in front of the main wall, so why can't we have two companions having a conversation while standing on either side of it?

That was my first time being surprised by the new TARDIS interior (if you don't count the War Doctor's since that was just 9/10's tardis with the classic series walls).
For this new TARDIS I think they were trying to go for a natrual look to the console, but I personally not a huge fan of it, it seems small, empty, and dark(lighting wise). I liked the TARDIS when it was bright, had chairs, and coat rack. When it was lived in.
Is anyone else finding these episodes more enjoyable now than when we watched them live? I'm starting to wonder if we really all were plagued by the 'new doctor syndrome' where we cannot help but dislike all the changes to the show.

Graham is definitely the best companion this year, hell I’d say he’s the best character this year, I’m sure by the end of the series he’ll be your favourite too as let’s say that some companions (YAZ) don’t do much in the show
Part Hunger Games, part Maze Runner....subparred enemies, killer scarfs aka The Remants...not as innovative as the Stenza Warrior Tzim-Sha / Tim Shaw from Episode 1 ( which I YET to review / react / comment, don't like falling a little behind on things ) Angstrom and Epzo are quite the adversaries turned allies, and that Call of Duty IV reference had me in stitches ( I bet if Ryan Sinclair makes it to the end of the Season, his COD 4 privileges will be like the gun he held.... BLANK! Moving on....) But the TARDIS scenes were very entertaining, ❤️ the outside, but the inside... crystal monoliths, hexagonal shapes, orange lights....no " it's bigger on the inside" reference?!? Hot damn I miss 12's Posh Kitchen look ( and 12 as well.... nearly a year later ), but the hourglass, the mini crystal TARDIS...and a Cookie Dispenser 😋, I definitely ❤️ the little touches. Not a strong second episode ( last year's Smile still have that touch ), but a good start for 13, Ryan, Yasmin and Graham. Great reaction to The Ghost Monument Sesska, onwards to Episode 3. Oh, before I go, Graham O'Brien wearing ladies sunglasses?!? All I can say is there is one person who can wear the shades....and look dam good in them ( #12STILLownstheShades... I'll leave it at that..😎. ) Now I'm done. 😉.
Loved your reaction to the opening credits. I think they are my favorite of all the opening credits. I like the new TARDIS too though I know many others do not. I agree this episode was not as good as the first one.
What is the Timeless Child, Chibnall!? Thirteen's (Jodie's) reaction to getting her TARDIS back is so beyond beautiful and will be a standout moment of her run for me. It's friends now, not companions(still not entirely sure how I feel about that myself yet - five days out from the finale). It's a charming character trait of our lovely new Doctor; making friends, keeping friends and almost adopting them as family. I think maybe she feels alone in the world again. So, she grabs new friends wherever she can 😄
I hope that the Timeless Child is a call back and hopefully refers to Susan or Jenny. (the doctors granddaughter and his daughter from tennants run) and that we'll eventually see them
I may be wrong, but during the Sylvester McCoy era, they introduced the idea that the Doctor was far older than he said and had a mysterious past. They felt that the Doctor lost much of his appeal because of Gallifrey. One of the theories is that Omega, Rassilon and "The Other" started the Time Lords. Rassilon and Omega betrayed the Other, who got lost in time, but came back as "the doctor" The doctor has no memory of this. (this is based on clues in the Virgin novels written by that era show writers) Some of the concepts were kind of off putting- that Gallifrians didn't give birth, but were "loomed" into existence. The Others consciousness found its way into the loom and created the Doctor. The Loom has been more ore less abandoned by RTD and Moffat as they showed The Doctor was a baby, had family, children and grandkids. And of course the 50th showing the kids. However, they may try to show the Doctor may be older than the original 12 regenerations.
After this episode originally aired... I went through the list in my head of who it could be but I pretty quickly settled on it's obviously the Doctor and maybe has something to do with his/her parents. Considering all of the vague "family is everything" thread through S11. I'm really hoping we get a bigger hint about it in the finale.
I was 6 when I saw the very first episode. Of course my memories were heightened with DVD rewatches but I loved the sense of opening a Police Box straight into another dimensional interior. It was always bigger on the inside. This interior is behind the back of the Police Box. The illusion has gone.

5:38 Yup! Same reaction when I am correctmundo!
This season by far has the best Intro sequence of any show ever.
I'm just impatient to see your Rosa reaction now. That's gonna be a full box of tissues 😭😭😭
For this new TARDIS I think they were trying to go for a natrual look to the console, but I personally not a huge fan of it, it seems small, empty, and dark(lighting wise). I liked the TARDIS when it was bright, had chairs, and coat rack. When it was lived in.
5:12 Haha, yes!
Now we have an introduction opening number
Is anyone else finding these episodes more enjoyable now than when we watched them live? I'm starting to wonder if we really all were plagued by the 'new doctor syndrome' where we cannot help but dislike all the changes to the show.
honestly, no. i enjoy jess's reactions and all the hard work she puts into making theses videos. i must say that this doctor who december i will almost always prefer the "other" videos over the new series reactions. thank you for all you do jess
They asked Jodie what her favorite snack was
I love that she choose custard creams
I don't know why, but I really liked this episode a lot. I liked the two racers, I liked the resolution where they decided to take joint-win... and yeah... love the Tardis moments.
Sesska, I truly love your reactions. THey so mirror my own!
Oh ya I forgot opening credits was on episode 2 not 1
Many people hate this season but I find it to be in my top 5 because although some writing elements are poor Jodie,Mandip,Tosin and Bradley are amazing as team tardis and I love the new creatures and also the new tardis is my 2nd favourite
Edit: The new intro is my favourite intro yet
Yaz: Can you hear that noise?
Flashback to the 50th: You know the sound the TARDIS makes? That wheezing, groaning. That sound brings hope wherever it goes. To anyone who hears it Doctor. Anyone, however lost....even you!"
"That went well." Killer moment!
FYI, if you want that cookie, it’s actually a Custard Creme biscuit. They are quite delicious!
Team Tardis! Woohoo!
Thought I was going to have to wait until Friday for another season eleven reaction. Woo Hoo! Doctor Who December rules!!
Great reaction, so glad you reacted to this
Ryan's dyspraxia is really well managed. Either he got excellent treatment or something else is going on.
You figured the GM out straight away lol
cool intro!!
16:39 I present to you Sesskasays - The Fan
cant wait for ep3 reaction

Graham is definitely the best companion this year, hell I’d say he’s the best character this year, I’m sure by the end of the series he’ll be your favourite too as let’s say that some companions (YAZ) don’t do much in the show
this was practically the hunger games in space.
Come to Daddy! I mean Mummy! I mean...
Another of my favourite episodes from the series 😁
15:50 My favorite line!
Can’t wait for your Rosa reaction
The Doctor runs like little Amelia Pond.
"Come to daddy...I mean mummy."
As part of Doctor Who december you should watch the five doctors
Better than this rubbish.
I was 6 when I saw the very first episode. Of course my memories were heightened with DVD rewatches but I loved the sense of opening a Police Box straight into another dimensional interior. It was always bigger on the inside. This interior is behind the back of the Police Box. The illusion has gone.
I'm liking the new deep bass
