Love Vario and this is another sharp looking watch from the brand. Thanks for a great review as always Toni.

Thank you, Fred! As this is a definite “anti-bracelet” watch, I thought of you while doing the review.

I really want a Vertex M36 but as I don't have a spare £2K this would scratch my "Drirty Dozen" itch -- great review as always 👍 thanks.

Thank you for watching! Really happy when people scratch their itches with a microbrand instead of an Allie Ex!

You're very welcome . I enjoy and value your microbrand exposure -- the products of the Allie Wonka luxury watch factories not so much but each to their own eh.

Frumos ceas. Și TLR-ul. Doar recuzita sau este și folosit?

Multumesc pentru subscriptie si comentariu! TLR-ul e doar recuzita.

There are so many dirty dozen interpretations, copies, and follow-ups I do honestly lose track and to some extent also interest. Having said that, it never ceases to amaze me that an essentially utilitarian set of design restrictions also led to an iconic look that actually very rarely ever seems off-putting or boring. The boredome may only set in due to the many choices and takes available. Vario's take certainly adds a little flair here and there. I generally welcomed the crown placement, despite not looking into the technological cause making this positioning inevitable. The mixed case finishing adds character to the watch. The dial texture makes it more attractive to look at. The 'hidden' logo is a smart choice, but this is also because the logo styling is something I have always disliked about Vario. I can only apologise. Clearly this is not a majority view. But for me, the Vario logo seems out of place on most of their watches and I don't welcome seeing it prominently. The rotor noise is disappointing and, for now, satisfies that my choice to avoid Miyota 8 series movements is probably justified. The 9 series receives the same complaint, but my Junghans Max Bill makes easily the same or more audible noise to any Miyota powered watch I own. In other words, it's really not that bad. Having said that, truly audible rotor noise I would not consider fit for the board room (should that be where you find yourself). The bund strap style is a great choice, but also not very board room friendly. Nor is that canvas, to be fair. I did hear correctly that you suggested this would also be suitable to take into the board room? Never mind. Got hung up on that, and truth is, few would ever care and put it on any leather and nobody is likely to blink an eyelid. Personally I don't find most loosely worn large jangly bracelet diver-style watches very board room, and yet, this is regularly seen. Not that I frequent board rooms, so I'm rather going by media portrayal. All in all, I think Vario made a good dirty dozen inspired watch that thanks to original feeling touches manages to stand out sufficiently as a distinctive choice.

Oh, no, I wholeheartedly second your opinion on keeping this as far away from any formal context as possible, even business casual.

@@themicrobrandexpert I will have misheard... I don't know. Sometimes I hear things that aren't there and go too quick.
