    For anyone with anxiety in public, it's great to listen to an educational podcast while walking. Podcasts help me reach my goal of the length of time walking by the length of the podcast.

      Walking with no headphones is also good for mental health...we go through most of the day being distracted by some form of entertainment. People often struggle to sleep because that is the first time all day they've actually had to encounter silence.

      @Life_42 4 дня назад

      @@AM2K2 I agree, it's the best. Some people are the opposite and have silence their whole day. Thanks for the advice.

    I appreciate your videos and partially thanks to you, I've taught myself to be more of a forefoot walker which I believe (along with knees over toes exercises) has significantly improved my knee & lower body health as well as core strength. My next goal? Getting that super efficient running stride you exhibit at the beginning of each of your videos. Cheers and thank you!!

    Welcome back bro. Will you be reviewing the new Asics Snapdown 4? I was curious on your thoughts on how the 4 compares to the 2 and 3.

    As I discovered this summer the forefoot strike after starting running in sandals with 8 mm outsole, my feet became so loaded, and I found I did not use my feet the right way all my life.
    I shared this with my finesse coach who does wear barefoot shoes, and we had a huge long discussion, as she is heel striking in barefoot footwear.
    I watched all what RUclips contains))) only you who is showing the forefoot strike.
    It is bizarre that no more vids like you do.
    Main point they say running and waking is different locomotion.
    It’s so endless argue…
    What is MOST SHAME: Vivo barefoot teach people heel strike in their shoes 😢officially.
    Those companies shall talk about correct walking first!!!!!!
    That’s why barefoot wearers injuring.

      Thanks for watching! I agree wholeheartedly. The Heel strike along with prolonged sitting, is causing a dysfunction of our Hip flexors.
      Knee pain.. Look at the example of Kneesovertoesguy, all of his exercises for Knee pain involve rehabilitating the Hip flexors... What if you could easily avert Knee, Hip and Foot pain with just the way you walk?! Heel striking doesn't do that. That is why so many people suffer in pain and try to "buy" their way out of pain, with orthotics, 1"+ Heel Cushioning, etc..

    Been walking in barefoot shoes for about 4 months now. I’ve been having symptoms of foot extensor tendinitis for a few days since a hike. Any advice for a speedy recovery/prevention? Could be simple as being more diligent with my foot exercises.

    • @GrownandHealthy
      @GrownandHealthy  4 дня назад +1

      It could be from overexertion, It could subside with adequate rest. I like to interlace my fingers and Toes and gently flex and extend the toes with a full range of motion.

      @@GrownandHealthy I’ll try this, thank you. It’s been getting better throughout the past day so I’m not too worried. Just going to be more diligent about my exercises and not take my running too far.

    It almost looks like you are heel striking? I've been working a lot on forefoot striking but it doesnt look like your step.. :/

    • @GrownandHealthy
      @GrownandHealthy  3 дня назад +1

      I would look at my videos again.. I distinctly ask that you focus landing on the Fifth tuberosity of the Foot, first.
      This does not mean to walk on your tip toes, like a cartoon character.
      If your gait doesnt look like mine (which it doesn't have to!), You may have skipped over some fundamental information.
      While the Tuberosity is the lowest part of the foot, it is still only millimeters in difference of the heel... almost imperceptible with an untrained eye, but monumentally different in "Feel" and mechanics.

    • @coachjohansson_
      @coachjohansson_ 3 дня назад

      Thank you for your dedicated answer! I think I'm landing a little bit more forward, but still on the fifth tuberosity, but I will go back and watch your videos again and see if I can better my strike. Thank you for all the advice you are giving!

    • @GrownandHealthy
      @GrownandHealthy  3 дня назад

      @@coachjohansson_ It may be due to your speed.. A brisk pace should land further in front (In this video I demonstrated a slow pace) until you reach a jogging to sprint pace where the Heel is elevated and you fully engage the Windlass Mechanism.
      Think of the landing placement in accordance to speed.

    Great video with many great points.
    Nevertheless, my approach, biomechanical analysis result and conclusions are quite different.
    Most problems with human movement originate in blockage of the spine and lack of scientific definition and analysis of Natural Movement, IMHO.
    All these are subjects of Kinegenesis, the fractal biomechanics of Natural Movement.
    Some examples of Natural Movement in walking and running during the evolution can be seen here:
