I think Ezio's Family doesn't really refer to his biological family, but rather to his other family, the Assassins. This is why I think this is the canon theme for the Assassin's Creed

I always wondered why the main theme chosen was named "Ezio's family". They died at the very beginning of AC2.
But then I realized : the Assassins. The rebels, the never-say-die, never back down and never give up.
All those people, united through space and time by this creed and this refusal to submit to unjustified authority.

The origins one hit so hard, the music you've been listening to the whole game drops on you right as the ending scene comes in with the ac logo, the nostalgia of the older games hit diff with origins.

Rogue’s theme is so underrated! It’s a fantastic fusion of different parts of Ezio’s family, AC3 main theme and the seafaring sound of the AC4 theme (and a melody from the British Empire theme from AC4). Brings it all together and reflects fantastically on how Rogue ties into AC3, uses the gameplay of 4 and has an emphasis on Shay’s past as an Assassin and his movement to the Templar order.
Also halfway sounds like a Nightwish track which my dad really digs cuz' he loves that band

What I love most about the ACII version is that each member of the Auditore family has its own instrument and they're introduced one at a time. For example, Ezio is the acoustic guitar, Petruccio the vocalist, etc. And that when we get to the climax of the piece, as the music crescendos, it is symbolizing Ezio racing to save his family before they're killed. But he fails. So the end leaves us with only the acoustic guitar to remember the theme. Alone.

Odyssey has to be one of my favorite games of all time. The ancient Greek setting was definitely my favorite part of it and its map. Good times with that game.
Same. I played Black Flag, Syndicate, Origins as well. However Odyssey's Greek setting and Kassandra (she is so damn hot) are the main two reasons that made me love Odyssey the most out of all Assassin's creed games. Although I am completely aware Odyssey is not actually an Assassin's game but more like an RPG

I think it makes absolute sense for Shay to have also received this song for his game. He may have joined the Templars, but he was the one acting the most like an Assassin Ezio would have been proud of. The assassins of his time had lost their way in a lust for power, sacrificing the people for it.
Great point. I wouldn't say the assassins of that time lost themselves in a lust of power, but in blind chase to have the upper hand in their conflict with Templars, that it became more important than the principles they initially fought for. Shay was too good and too smart to stay and ignore it, and good for him.

Ezio's Family hits hard in general, but I just have so many memories attached to the Origins and Odyssey main themes. Origins in particular. Goddamn that was one hell of a special game.

Well I think recently they’ve been remaking the theme with instruments relating to the settings of the games, like Odyssey’s version was probably performed by a Greek Guitar or Valhalla’s was probably performed by a Norse instrument the Vikingrs used

Not really. The only thing experience can do for musicians is to probably speed up the workflow. The sense of creativity just comes naturally.
The Unity theme does not exist as an official track on the OST, but you can hear it in two places in-game.
The first is in the opening credits, when you first see the logo appear on screen. Do not press any button and you'll be able to hear it.
The second, and far more obvious, is for some reason in the sewers after killing Le Rois de Thunes or whatever his name is (end of sequence 4 I think). Linger in the sewers for a while and you'll hear that beautiful, dark rendition of the theme, which runs for around 43 - 45 seconds.
(Oh, and fun fact, the Syndicate theme is performed by Evie's actress!)

I Tattooed the logo above my heart. Still no regrets. I know the series had it's ups and downs, but i still love it. The message it sends and this song in particular gives me hope, even though i lost it years ago. Nothing is true, everything is permitted

To be honest, Bayek and Aya were the ones started the Brotherhood, it was originally called "The Hidden Ones". Ezio is just the mentor of the brotherhood during his time, AKA the master assassin

To me this isn't just ezios theme. This is everyone's theme. It incapsulates their sadness and their will differently in every rendition. They aren't just a band of criminals. They are a brotherhood.
shame how underappreciated the syndicate version is, imo one of the most emotional ones
I love the plucking sound adopted in Rogue's version and how later renditions adopted the same sound. That standalone, constant plucking almost represents a clock, and gives off a feeling that the Assassin's Creed games take place out of time. More than that, it also sounds like it represents the Animus in a way. Idk how to describe it, I just hear it and immediately think: "Yup, that's Assassin's Creed"
Ezio"s family theme could fit into any settings. Imagine a full AC games of other different events being played out. Ezio's theme as the benefactor all of them

as much as i don’t like odyssey as an AC game, it’s rendition of ezio’s family is my personal favorite.
Honestly I think odyssey and valhalla especially odyssey would've been better received if they titled it "ODYSSEY from the world of assassins creed" rather than an actual ac game.
I do agree odyssey is one of my favorite games but it doesnt feel like an AC game and thats my only problem

Rogue's theme is so clever that it picks up the best parts of the ac3 theme and mixes them with the ac2 theme which makes it sound amazing...and yes...the game had more than enough potential for a sequel..I always wanted a new story and shay's story looked promising but ultimately..ubisoft did not make it into a full game and treated it like a damn spinoff although it could have been so much better..and i so fucking wanted to see a sequel of shay..

I'm currently playing Ezio's Collection for the first time (after only previously ever having played the modern AC games from Origins - Valhalla) and by god this theme (now knowing it's Ezio) tears me up 😢
Make sure you get the entire Ezio experience: The prequel shorts Lineage, followed by the 3 games and ends with epilogue Embers.

I have both the mini-movies included in my trilogy disc, so will be watching Embers afterwards. I'm sure there will be tears at some point 😢

Pretty sure if you are watching this video then you are like me in saying the Ezio character connected with you like few others ever did. As someone who loves movie soundtracks, history and video games, the Ezio trilogy was the chef's kiss of fusing all of it together for me. A great game. Amazing music. and enough historical tidbits here or there that it led me to studying/inquiring about areas of history, such as the Mongol invasions, Renascence Venice, Istanbul in the 16th century etc.
It's honestly almost something that brings a tear to my eye to hear his theme evolve in subsequent games. Hearing freaking EINAR SELVIK blast out this theme while it sounds like you're hearing the ghosts of the Vikings (or perhaps all other Assassins') as a choir is just incredible.

the assasins creed 2 ezios family always tears me up of nostalgia and just me and my brother playing my brother doesn play alot with me anymore this just cheers me up alot and omg this tune is hella well made
Rogue’s theme is so underrated! It’s a fantastic fusion of different parts of Ezio’s family, AC3 main theme and the seafaring sound of the AC4 theme. Brings it all together and reflects fantastically on how Rogue ties into AC3, uses the gameplay of 4 and has an emphasis on Shay’s past as an Assassin and his movement to the Templar order.
As soon as this theme came on in Origins and Odyssey, my heart jumped.

Austin Wintory rekindled my love for the Ezio's Family theme with Frye's Family
First time i played AC2 was two days ago, this song, Makes me feel nostalgic and happy also sad. I don’t know why but this is a masterpiece i already feel nostalgic, I haven’t finished the game.
I walked on the streets of Rome I killed Kings and I saved kingdoms I changed the course of history and defeated tyrants I brought peace to lands in the name of creed, and then i took a sip of my mountain dew
Its actually so strange to think that AC2 and Syndicate are only 6 years apart..
