Great video. You mentioned two Of my favourite flowers. Lily's and Dahlias. My favourite lily is the Star gazer and I have a load of them and different species in my garden now along with Dahlias. My lily's got distroyed this year. Gutted. But then some survived and were so beautiful. Great video. Thank you.

I'm from Canada and only found your channel this year but you have been such an inspiration for me as a newbie gardener and also regarding my struggle with my health problems. I used to have ornemental lilys but they were always being eated. I started a collection of day lilys in my backyard and also have canna lilys. I would love to see a video on how to grow lilys from seeds! I hope your health is still better with the changes that you made in your diet :-) Take care of yourself.

I love all Lillies, but in particular is it Calla Lilly ( sorry about spelling) , the beautiful white one. I am going to try buying a plant this year but will harvest the seeds from it and my other blooms. They were mother’s day gifts from my son. So precious to me. Thanks for all your videos.
So nice to get an upclose shot of seeds and pods. I stopped in the middle to go look at my lillies and only found 1 swelling pod that looks shrunk but not dry. Hopefully ill get to harvest some. This year to my suprise i got caladium blooms. Im always so focused on my veggie garden i forgot to look at,my more exotic plants to see what they might do. Thank you for making what should have been obvious much easier and yet very imformative adding all the different lillies. That usual goes over my head to. Your looking happy and healthy. I love ponds so I am a pond lily lover. But more recently I have come to enjoy the daylily with all the different varieties. Seem to be pretty easy to keep up. I love starting anything from seeds so I would love to see a video on starting Lily's from seed. Nice to see you again. Keep up the good work cuz you are one of my go-to people as I'm just getting back into gardening again. 🏵️

My favorite lily are the Stargazer (intoxicating beautiful smell) and Easter Lilies. Learned today those big seed pods are water lilies…I’ll have to look for some!! Thx!

Thank you for showing this. I’m just starting to try saving seeds from my oriental ‘Salmon Star’ lily. It’s my fav. So pretty & an awesome fragrance! It’s mostly white with orange.
I just started planting lilies, bought Easter lily plants and oriental lily bulbs, plants are easy just leave them in pots as they are. for oriental bulbs I plant them in big pot with 30cm height and 40cm width, hope they grow well

Perfect video!!! Just what I needed. My favorite flower I think is a cousin of the lilly. It's a double bearded pink iris. My plant is 3 years old, and blooming more every year. But the seed are very similar. Thanks again

Good to hear! I'd suggest buying bulbs if you're starting from scratch. Some varieties can take years to flower. :)

This is the 2nd summer for my Lilly patch. They grew double the size from last year with flowers 25cm wide, with plants over a meter high. I’m very surprised they had such a significant change.
Hi I absolutely love lilies and I have all varieties of them. One thing I didn’t know was that we could take seeds from the pods and I only found this out from watching your video. I’m new to this channel by the way. Thanks very much I will try this out but sadly I have cut away my huge tree lillies amongst others as they were damaged by the heavy downpours .

Thank you for this video, my oriental lilies are doing beautifully this year, the flowers are huge and there are plenty of them. Past years have been difficult due to the wind and rain, I live in Scotland. I'm ready to harvest my first seeds this year, I'm hoping to spread them out more in my garden and gift to neighbours. I've read or heard somewhere that after 4-5 years, the bulbets should be separated to help encourage healthy blooms for future seasons?

I love stargazer lily's. I've planted several lily bulbs a few years ago and some are still coming up. I need to transplant all of them to a better location. Probably won't get to it this year. I got other projects I have to do first.

Like you, I love daylilies. There is an orange one that when you see its blooms on roadsides, you know it’s summertime. Around here they’re called ditch lilies! These are the single bloom ones & Alabama lists them as wildflowers. I have another orange (wild) variety that has a triple petal bloom. These don’t multiply by fans or seeds, but tubers and they are EXTREMELY INVASIVE! I made the mistake of planting some among my fancy varieties & they are pushing them out. Gotta dig, dig, dig come late fall.
My affection has been captured by the “Tiny” series of Asiatic lilies. They are shorter, so no need to stake and they multiply like crazy from year to year.
I’ve been curious about the seed pods that appear each year. I thought that they would produce a plant, over time, but I’ve never planted them, mainly because they do multiply so vigorously.
I have always loved gathering seeds….all the way back to my childhood. I think it started with 4 o’clocks and marigolds and zinnias. My grandmama always had these in her yards. Thank you for such a great video that answered a lot of my questions. 🤓

Hi! Im new in harvesting seeds.. My friend gave me 3 Madonna lillies that her gardner accidentally cut down.. 2 have a flower, and the other one never bloomed. im guessing because there's just 6 big pepperonchini looking things on it.. Since she gave me these basically stems .. how do i get the seeds from them? I wish i could add pictures to show what I'm trying to explain.. I hope i was able to give you a good visual of what I'm trying to explain..😅

I harvested some native lilies & am waiting for the pods to dry. They r Humbolt lilies very much like the tiger lily. The plant has a wonderful symmetrical conical growth pattern, branching out w/flower on the end of each branch. The only water they get is winter rain. How do I germinate it’s seeds?
Hi, Lee .. I've been collecting lily seed this year but I find that separating the good seed from the 'empty' seed and the chaff is a real pain. Any tips on how to do that? People say blow gently and the lighter stuff will be blown away leaving the good seed, but I find that the good seed blows away with the bad and it's all too easy to end up with everything on the kitchen floor.
