Today, we are finding out which eeveelution is truly the fastest...at least in terms of obtaining one across the pokemon series! Only one can be the champion!
If you love unique Pokémon challenges as well as uncovering facts about the games you never knew, then you are going to love my channel! I am currently working on the "How fast can you catch X in EVERY Pokémon game" series
where we track down specific pokemon, types, and other interesting groupings in the most optimal way possible.
I use a heavy amount of research and analysis in search of the answer to each episode's question, aiming to tell a fun story of the often tedious but exciting adventures I go through along the way!
Check out all episodes series here: • Catching Challenges!

Nah. But get that good sponsorship money though.
My man getting a Raid sponsorship! Get that bread!
I'm not into games like that so I had to skip it.
No thanks
loved the video but hate the sponsor. Raid shadow legends Is one of the worse games out there
Alternative Title: How fast can I get the inevitable Flareon in each game?
The false prophet
Actually fun video idea
Better idea: how fast can I get a baby pokemon
Pretty much
I think it'd be interesting to see how quickly you can catch a Ditto in every game, since it's so valuable for its breeding utility.
RIP gen 5, getting a ditto in b&w2 is all the way in Giant Chasm
I can't wait for this one :(
@@semaJCh me too this comment is goated
Let's do one better.
Not how quick can you catch Ditto. How quick can you breed with Ditto?
@@mesdecent8051 Still RIP to B2/W2, the daycare ia all the way in the post-game.
for the gen 4 eevee in platinum, you don't need to bike all the way over to the mossy stone. being in the eterna forest at all is enough for Eevee to evolve into leafeon once leveled up
I don't think that's right... The whole point is the rock
@@ItsVenti it is right. in all games the moss and ice rocks appear in, simply being in the area that has the rock is enough. doesn't matter where in that area you are.
@@ashleyvanbeek7045 that's weird but cool to know
@@ashleyvanbeek7045 Well except Legends: Arceus, there you actually have to be in its direct vicinity, rather than the entire Wild Area map.
@@theramendutchman didn't know that. i just caught them from those spacetime distortion things iirc
since abra’s been such a help in these runs, a “how fast can you get abra” would be a cool run!
Love this idea, it’s the best way make it up to Abra 🫡
Or "How fast can you get teleport" in case there's a game that has a different teleporter appearing sooner than Abra
Since they're usually rare (especially in the older gens) it would make for a fun challenge to see how long it takes to get a dragon type in each gen.
Think gens 1 and 3 will have the slowest time of them all. While I'm not sure about gen 1, gen 3's bagon requires 8 badges to get lmao
and then in gen 4 it depends on which game we're talking about, in platinum you can get it as soon as you can access Wayward Cave, but in diamond and pearl it'll be after you beat Byron because the secret entrance is blocked by round stones that requires Strength to move, and Wayward Cave is the only place in the entire game where Gible can be found.
In gen 5 its also very much at the end game for both games, obviously since Axew/Haxorus is awesome
Never played the gen 6 or 7 games, but in gen 8 I believe Applin can be found rather early in the game, after you get the grass badge.
Finally in gen 9 Gible can be found in the west province, but not sure if other dragons can be found in a closer location to Mesagoza than Gible.
@@slow_mk8I remember that in Emerald you could catch Swablu after the city with volcanic ash. If I recall correctly it should be faster than getting a Bagon
@slow_mk8 You can get Axew in Mistralton Cave, accessible by Surf after Driftveil City (5th gym) and before Chargestone Cave (I believe in both BW and their sequels). You don't even need Flash, just need to run around for a bit
@@slow_mk8 Axew is available early in X&Y, you can find it in Connecting Cave at the end of Route 7
@@kooriame3315 but even then y9ou would need to grind it since swablu is normal/flying its altaria thats dragon/flying
In ultra moon, if you manage to get a rainbow bean from the pokepelego on the way to the eevee, you can get a sylveon immediately
Yeah, those are broken
yeah but would the time spent unlocking/playing pokepelago really make up for it?
@TalysAlankil the bean island is the first one, you don't even need to do the whole pelego tutorial
@@Mefous2 yeah, but you'd have to finish akala island all the way up to beating Kiawe's trial to unlock the pokepalago at all, unforuntely. It's not acessable until you have the Charizard ride pokemon.
I accidentally got a Sylveon with charm.
What about 'Get all eevolutions'? And score each one on how long it takes in total? Glaceon will let down the times by FAR in every single game :(, but I think that would make a good followup video.
I have all Eevee evolutions in gen 2
@@FzeroVaporeon what was your total game time?
@@choatixtherobot uh I think my pokédex around that time was like 80 something or 90 something and I don't remember the time it was at but now my pokédex is at 111 and my hours are at 73 and almost 74.
Up to USUM, Glaceon was post game only iirc (and even then it's in the Victory Road equivalent).
Now, it's a stone evolution, so it's somewhat better
Impossible in Gen 1 without trading. No breeding and only 1 eevee available in game.
I couldn't help but laugh every time we end up with yet another Flareon. The one anime character claiming Flareon was the best Eeveelution may have had a point, just not in strength.
Hey Flareon got the highest physical attack among the Eeveelution, of course it's the best Eeveelution in strength.
But just in strength, it got bad speed, bulk, movepool, abilities....... which is why it's not good in battle.
Hey guys, did you know that in terms of human companionship, Flareon is objectively the most huggable Pokemon? While their maximum temperature is likely too much for most, they are capable of controlling it, so they can set themselves to the perfect temperature for you. Along with that, they have a lot of fluff, making them undeniably incredibly soft to touch. But that's not all, they have a very respectable special defense stat of 110, which means that they are likely very calm and resistant to emotional damage. Because of this, if you have a bad day, you can vent to it while hugging it, and it won't mind. It can make itself even more endearing with moves like Charm and Baby Doll Eyes, ensuring that you never have a prolonged bout of depression ever again.
@@TheGalaxyWings hey a wholesome one I never thought I'd see the day
@@DragonInABag
It's actually pretty common.

@@Your_uncle320
That spelling of Glaceon brings me agony.
@@gregorywood7554 sorry i didn't know how to pronounce it but you get my point right
Those 2 are some of the worst and weakest eevolutions lmao
Wonderfully fun video and it was fun to also learn about speedrun strats.
From what I recall, you can actually evolve Eevee into Leafeon in Gen 4 anywhere inside Eterna Forest; no need to run all the way over to the rock. Same with the route the Icy Rock is in and Glaceon.
So glad you enjoyed!! And thanks so much for that info, I had literally NO idea about the eterna forest thing growing up, super cool to learn and sorry to everyone for missing that tidbit! XD
Even if you couldn't evolve the gift Eevee in SwSh, you can breed it at the Daycare (assuming it's female) in the Wild Area and then grab another stone there. Wouldn't that be quicker than all the dialogue cutscenes, even if we account for reseting for a female Eevee?
I would personally say it has the same problem as Let's Go Eevee. Leaving an Eevee unevolved in the fastest Eeveelution is unforgivable
The only time flareon get a w amongst the original eeveelution
As a Flareon fan, I enjoyed this video immensely.
How about an eeveelution bingo where you try to get all eeveelutions in different mainline games? Like, you get Flareon in Red and Blue, and then you have to get Vaporeon in Gold and Silver and so on and so forth
I thought baby doll eyes was the fastest way in PLA because I always accidentally get Sylveons with that move in Eevee’s moveset lol
That is it's first fairy move. And I forgot that requirement when I was trying to get an Umbreon.
So I think some people definitely suggested it, I suggest a "Fastest Magnemite for each game" as it's one of the few pokemon that exists in all regional dex...... except for Galar where only found in DLC.
A fastest Magikarp run is also doable, you just have to buy it in postgame of Unova, they are all fairly common and early in other games.
Bro thats my favorite pokemon/evolution. Thats something i should do ngl
Psyduck is an even better choice; it's been in every game, even in the B/W postgame.
X and y have, hands down, the best bike theme ever.
Your videos have such good quality cant wait to see more
Thanks as always Wraith! :)
This was fun to watch, thanks for making it. The previous videos inspired me to make some speed run ideas and try speedrunning pokemon games again
I found your channel a few days ago and was surprised by how quality these videos are, keep doing you man. You'll get a following in no time.

Another great video James! Always tempted to start another Gen 3 or 4 pkm run whenever you upload something .
Also didn't expect to get a nostalgia trip with Yu-Gi-Oh when I heard the OST at 30:10.
SEV!!! So glad you enjoyed! And you caught my fave song of the video!!!! ;)
Oh my, i just subbed yesterday, and it's a blessing to have another video to watch, that fast, heh!
I love when this happens to me too! XD
Thanks for checking out the channel! :)
Fun fact: If you don't change your date on your DS in BW2, a run to capture Eevee could be substantially lengthened if you play during the in-game spring or summer seasons, as the sewers are flooded. This would require you to beat both Elesa and Clay, participate in the Driftveil Tournament at the PWT, defeat the Plasma grunts on the frigate docked nearby, and then head down Route 6 to finally talk to Cheren, who'll give you the HM for Surf. At that point you'd have to walk all the way back to Castelia City to catch Eevee.
This is a fantastic point I forgot to mention! I got really lucky with my seasons lining up here! Thank you for the detail and watching! :)
I'm shocked that this channel only has four videos. The quality is so high I figured you must have been doing this for years.
I love it!
Thanks so much, really appreciate the kind words! 🥹
X and y could have ended sooner because you could have stopped by the stone shop in lumiose to get either a fire or water stone but jolteon did need some love here
You can’t go to the stone shop until you turn on the cities power
@@unlikelybread9268 no you can it’s in the only other part of the city you can go before turning the power on
Yeah, I was also thinking that. I even remember seeing a video of two guys racing to get a team of Eeveelutions in a "totally legit" copy of Pokémon X and Y and they used the Stone Shop to get the evolutions before the second gym. The video, if you are curious, is made by MandJTV and PM7. I can't remember which channel it's on , but it was part of their John Michael Cup Season 1.
@@unlikelybread9268 I've been doing a playthrough of X & Y recently... and infact am currently playing it as I type this... I can confirm, you do NOT need to turn on the cities power to access the stone shop.
Yeah, I completely agree. jolteon did need some love
The false prophet returns to be a pokemon trainer's bane! 😂
I love that you present this like a guide, as if anyone else is going to do this. Makes me feel like I'm learning skills.
Good lord these challenges have shown me just how monumentally *s l o w* the Alola games are-
I do love slow games, and Moon is one of my favorite pokemon games, but my goodness
Spend in hour in any other games, and your either at the 2nd or 3rd gym, getting into the good stuff
Spend an hour in the Alola games, *your still on the first island*
*Just barely starting to see your first Kahuna battle*
*That's so insane dude*
It definitely has more tutorials and cutscenes than older games.
I feel like 7, 8, and 9 all have similar numbers of cutscenes.
The main reason I dropped the series after gen 7 besides Legends Arceus
There's only - like - 4 Kahunas though compared to the usual 8 Gym Leaders. And 7 or 8 Trials depending on game. Alola is slow, but it's a very different game compared to the usual Pokemon formula.
These kind of challenge videos often become motonous to me but the way you recap and explain the routes is very engaging. 👍
yay another video right after finding ur channel! cant wait for the next one :) keep em coming
Flareon slaaaayed the competition here hehe. Really like this challenge applied to Pokemon games, makes for a nice race-hunt combo 💕🦊 Also gratz for the amazing rate that your channel is growing, it's super deserved and cheers to what's to come Sema 🌈
Boy. I'm sure glad my favorite Eeveelution ended up in 2rd place overall. Good for them.
I hope this isnt the end of your attempts at the GameCube spin offs. Be neat to see some runs through those games
And side games in general. Conquest would be REALLY fun to do this challenge in because Eevee is your starter
You don't need to be next to the moss rock to evolve eevee, just in the same area as it, so you don't need to travel all the way through the forest to evolve eevee.
I need more of this type of content. Like once or twice per week.
You don't need to be BESIDES the mossy and icy rock, those are just landmarks of the route. You just need to level up the Pokémon while on the route with an overworld rock.
As an avid Flareon enjoyer, this video made me laugh so hard seeing my favorite eeveelution come up time and time again.
Got recommended one of your video's a few day's ago, been binging them all during lunch 😁 subbed immediately, you're awesome dude
Thank you so much! I totally know that feeling, love having a new channel to get through during lunch. ;D
Stoked you have been enjoying! :)
“i thought it was going to be a headache, but it was actually pretty fun all around” is a perfect description of gen 7
I DEMAND MORE HOENN! But the spin offs were a great addition!!!
Thank you for Judai’s theme :’)
Bike racks wtf!?!
Glad you were able to still enjoy with the lack of hoenn, we will have to make up for it somehow! ;)
YOU NOTICED?!?! That theme was too perfect ;)
Bike racks ftw!!!!
Try to catch a meowth in every game ( alola/ Galar/ kanto forms are admitted!)
Flareon: “Dread it. Run from it. Destiny arrives all the same, and now it's here. Or should I say; I am”
Fun fact, if you don't count PLA as a main series game, jigglypuff is the only pokemon that is able to be caught (not just obtained, bred, given, etc but actually caught) in every single main series game
I swear all these Flareons had be thinking I clicked on a Drunk Oak video.
I clicked on this video just to find out why my boy Sylveon is crying with a spotlight on him
Maybe the real eeveelutions were the friends we made along the way.
I've been loving these catching/evolving series. I think you should do Magikarp next since I'm pretty sure they're in every game and are loved by everyone.
I’m so annoyed how much GameFreak has been pushing Eevee so much in marketing in the past couple of years yet they haven’t made another Eeveelution in 10 years. Like I’m pretty sure everybody wants an Eeveelution for every type to happen eventually, right?
How Fast Can You Get A Dragon Types? would be a great challenge! Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much! Great idea for sure!!!
Thank you, this video needed to exist on the internet. During your X/Y playthrough, i can see how you got Rhyhorn and Rhydon confused as both games X/Y and the Let's Go games encourage use of Rhyhorn and Rhydon came before Rhyhorn as it was the first "Pocket Monster" illustrated to start the franchise!
As a massive flareon fan, this is a major W for me. (I say masive fan, I mean, I have as much flareon stuff as possible. TBF, Orange is my favorite colour LOL)
You have earned my sub. You used Jaden/Judai’s theme from Yugioh Gx when you got Jolteon in Shield and that’s how i knew 😅
OMG IM GONNA CRY
Let's go!!! I am sure we will see more of that theme in the future ;)
@@semaJCh i used to edit anime battle videos and the Yugioh/GX OST were always my signature songs to tie them together. Keep up the great work!
So Im actually sure, for Legends Arceus, if you are "Lucky" enough, the red ores pass the Alpha Snorlax on the Feildlands actually have a 5% chance to drop a Fire stone.
And you can access that area before you actually get 1 star. You just simply have to dodge all the wild Pokemon over there since you are too low level to fight them
If you are lucky enough you can catch your Eevee, run past Snorlax and bam get your Fire Stone on the very first Red ore residue.
That will almost definitely be way quicker than following the story and reaching the Heartwoods since you don't even need to finish the tutorial.
I have played pokemon platinum many times through with hundred of hours And I am now learning you can use the bike rack to use your bike! Thank you for teaching me something new about my favourite game.
I’d love to see how fast you can get a poskon of every type
It would be interesting to see which Eevelutions are the hardest to get in every game.

Another great video especially for such a new channel.
Since your doing the 3rd games now i do wonder how well the remakes would stack up in these some of these challenges compared to the original games
Catch Magnemite in every game
Excellent video as always james! ❤️
The trainer charecter I made for this one is Ellen (She/they). She's a pokemon professor specializing in Eeveelutions! What conditions trigger them, how there adaptations help them in the wild, possible new evolutions, etc. For this particular experiment, they wanted to see which eevelutions was the most accessible to new trainers.
Correction: Eevee in D/P is available in post-game via the Hall of Fame. Dex is not a requirement.
Great video! We stan Eevee in this househould
MOOP!!!! Thank you!!!!!
Fun video! Though, I do have a suggestion if you wanted to try a slightly different version of the challenge.
The goal at the end would be to get one of every eeveelution, without repeating games, aiming for the shortest total time
This way your not drowning in a million Flareon, you have to be strategic and think which game would be fastest for each eevee (and even possible to get the needed eeveelution), and by not repeating games for the challenge there's more variety for the viewer
If it's too complicated I completely understand, but thought it might be a fun idea
ooo i like this idea too
@@lythd glad you like it!
Sword and shield would probably be the fastest one for glaceon since you can just get an ice stone from the digging brothers
@@lindseylindsey9200 ooh, good point
Another possible strategy for crystal version could be breeding an eevee with a ditto.
I know that eevee's eggs take a lot of time to hatch, but an hatched pokemon has a huge amont of friendship points to start with and will evolve very soon.
"And we all have our favs", you said that as I was looking at my Espeon tatoo that I got 3 days ago lol
Flareon fans rejoice!!
How long does it take to get the Pseudo Legendary in EVERY Pokémon Game? Specifically the PL that appears in each generation. Dragonite in the Gen 1 Games, Tyranitar in the Gen 2 Games, Metagross or Salamence in the Gen 3 games etc.

@@semaJCh its hard not to give it to you
I’m hoping you’re not one of the people who are weird about Vaporeon, it’s so hard to find normal Pokémon fans 😭
Did you know that vaporeon…
Is pretty cool?
My first game was Pokémon Red where I used a vaporeon, that I loved more than my own charizard, vaporeon unlike charizard, never once fainted after evolving, it’s health and defense with its decent special attack too, it’s just such an amazing Pokémon. I remember the way I found out I could evolve it with a water stone is because I had been using staryu and was going to evolve that but chose my cute eevee instead.
this video made me realise i haven't done my eeveelutions only run of arceus, kind of a tradition for me that my second run through any pokemon game is that i can only use eevee and eeveelutions, once i can get one that is, since not all games are eevee friendly.
Youre so cool and underrated
Hey sema, question, if you could choose what the next eevee evolution, what would be its type, name, ability, and method of evolution?
As someone whose favorite Eevelution is Flareon, I got a huge kick out of all the Fire Stone suffering.
You can also breed Eevee in Sword and Shield, as you have access to the wild area nursery fairly easily and you get an Eevee from the train station NPC. You also have the digging duo near the nursery, which can yield evolution stones. Although, grabbing the fire stone on the way is probably still faster.
Kid named Hoenn
of course! at the beggining of the video i was like "bet the eeveelution thats quickest to attain is the worst one", i was right... i remember playing gen one and being like "flareon is a worse arcanine, vaporeon is as good as a lapras, and jolteon is the 2nd best electric type only being beat by... zapdos?!" either way, im glad my second favorite eeveelution got second place!
You could have saved more time in Arceus if you skipped the whole rank thing and climb the mountain to the west to skip the bridge guy.
This isn’t every game it’s every generation
well done. thanks. the eeveelutions family is just so good.
fun video!
minor correction: turning daylight savings on and off in gen 2 can be done repeatedly without resetting, just keep doing it and you'll eventually get the call.
Funnily enough, I got Pokemon Shield and used that Leaf Stone in Turffield to make a Leafeon out of an Eevee I caught. I wanted a grass type for my team, but I chose Scorbunny as my starter and none of the other gen 8 grass type Pokemon were really appealing to me so I filled out my team with a Leafeon and he is awesome. He proved especially useful against Nessa's ace Drednaw. I just took finding that grass stone before the first gym as a sign that I should use a Leafeon in this game.
Maybe for another video you could do "best Eeveelution to use in each game" where you factor in how soon you can get one versus how many gyms will be left by the time you get that one or something like that. I normally only use current gen Pokemon for my A team in each game I play or old Pokemon with new evolutions like Murkrow and Gligar in Brilliant Diamond but I'll be happy to make exceptions for more Eeveelutions in the future. Literally the only bad thing that I can say about my time with Brilliant Diamond is that I couldn't get an Eevee before finishing the Pokedex. I so wish they added that upgrade from Platinum into it, but I still had a great time and managed to make a very strong team that was able to perfectly match every single one of Cynthia's Pokemon.
i hope you will do some other pokemon challenges in the future, these videos are kinda cool
you got my sub ;)
Once I saw that the mossy rock was just there in the first map in LA, I decided to use Leafeon. It did quite well even though it’s movepool is pretty limited
Man Loses Last Little Bit Of Sanity He Didn't Know He Had Left Trying Not to Be Buried In Flareons
With B2W2 as per RT Game's Nuzlocke you can repel manipulate the eevee as it is the only pokemon in the sewers that can be level 19 which would increase the chance from the 5% mentioned to 100% if you could feasibly have a level 19 pokemon there
i like how the first captain in usum is as long as some of the other runs
9:38 who in the world told this guy how to say bidoof like that?!
I’m honestly tempted to try this out in Pokémon brick bronze since you get a free eevee pretty early on and after the second gym there’s a minigame where you have a chance to get one of the evolution stones.
I just found your channel and watched all of your videos. Can't wait to see more.
Would you consider doing a Jigglypuff or Scyther in every game run? Those are mine and my husbands favorite Pokemon and both can be found in almost all games. I think Jigglypuff is unobtainable in Arceus and Scyther is transfer only in one or two games.
Thank you so much for the support! Stoked you enjoyed! 😊
And I totally agree, love both of those ideas! The jigglypuff one has been on my list since starting as I have a thumbnail idea and theme that I think would be a lot of fun. 😁
Make it another where you get see how fast you can get the Eeveelution(s) introduced that generation for every Pokemon game that introduced one, since this is what I thought this video was going to turn out being anyways.
