1:47 brought back to mind the VA jingle. At first I thought they were going to mention reaching out to the VA online or by text, but then I remembered that was 1977. A toll-free number was as high-tech as it got back then.
This is about the time Mutual started using those stop tones or simply "Bee-doops".... which will stay in use throughout Mutual's run...The bee-doops will be used for a brief period when Mutual radio transitioned to Westwood One radio at the beginning of the 90's😊 🤩💯📻
Mutual began using the "beedoops" in 1974 until Westwood One retired the Mutual name in 1999. After that, CNN radio continued to use them until around 2012.

Thanks for the memories, Cold War politics, The cold winter of 1976 and 1977,Concorde, Government booklets, Vista, when Democrats would talk about actual middle class issues and take on a Democratic presidency. Finally, when 15 billion dollars was considered allot of money for the Federal Government.
At 16:01, just now remembered that sounder after decades!
I use the sounder from the Ivan Scott newscast as the alert notification for texts on my phone
A fascinating look back at the days when radio was a prinary source for news.🎉
Nostalgic post indeed. 👍
