@@yamsufhere hey, I got a raw score 104 which is apparently really good based on previous tests. But from what I can recall: Much on matching theories to the individual(s) that developed it- mainly Gestalt and existentialism. Much on career theories and the different assessments available to provide to clients; Holland’s RIASEC Career assessment- you will match the person’s characteristics and interests to what type of career they’ll be suited for. Personality: factors that shape it and the Big 5. Erik Erikson: 1 to 3 questions on him- they’ll give a scenario/example and you state what stage of life they may be in. For assessment: study more to understand t-scores, p-values, standard deviation and how to calculate t-scores if this is a weak area, there will be a question that makes you calculate it. Those are the most important pieces, the multicultural, ethical, and other domains were more simple.
I have been out of school for 13 years, and I've been working as a school counselor during that time. I decided that I wanted to take the NCE and see if I could go private practice, so I bought the book, read the first chapter, remembered almost nothing. Nothing. Parts of it I have never heard in my life. It might as well be in a different language. I am so worried I am going to fail this exam.

I was pretty worried about this exam because I’ve been out of school for 5 years and have an iron deficiency that really messes with my memory, but I took the test today and scored a 138. I’d like to thank you and the makers of the heme iron supplement I’ve been loading up on 😆 Ps- there can be some pretty substantial mental health impacts of iron deficiency (with or without anemia), so I recommend reading up on it a little bit because I’m willing to bet you’ve all encountered at least a few clients affected by this as well. It is also associated with infertility. It’s one of the many things that regularly flies under doctors’ radars

Dr. Rosenthal, thank you so much for helping me prepare to pass my NCE the first time. February 23rd, I passed the first time I sat for my exam. I listened to your cassette over and over and studied from you purple book. I felt more confident going in to sit for my NCE. I tend to have high levels of test anxiety , but not this time. Thank you again for investing into our best outcomes. 🙏❤️
Worked well for me I passed my exam :) Thank you for this video.
I passed today!!!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you
I’ve literally played this to and from work, my internship & school for a straight month & I managed to pass with 3 hours of sleep lol
Still PASSED
Just passed the NCE this past Friday and much of Dr. Rosenthals material still holds up. I utilized the audio and purple book (along with a couple other sources) and passed first try.
Congrats! I am taking the exam in October. Any suggestions on other materials to use when studying? I downloaded the NCE exam app and have been using the Andrew Hewig NCE exam prep book!
Took the NCE today and couldn’t thank you enough for your videos and books! I passed!
I took my CPCE and passed with a 104 on the first try. I used your other materials and listened to this, taking notes, a week before. Then I listened the night before and morning of the test. I will continue to study for the NCE.
Thank you Dr. Rosenthal! I passed my test today with a higher score than I though! Your book and videos really helped
Passed today!! I’ve been listening to this non-stop. Thank you!!!!!
So happy to hear it was helpful! I'll keep cranking out the You Tube Videos
A highly recommended audio tape!!! Very helpful!
I take the test in a hour CPCE … it’s my second time taking it and I have adhd so to study is. Struggle in its self … I pray that I remember everything comes to my mind
I am retaking the exam again in a week. Thank you so much for the review Dr. Rosenthal. I feel frustrated since i didn’t pass it.
Chris did you take the new narrative NCMHCE? If so what do you feel you need to study more on?
I will have my exam in 2 hours. Please, please, send me good vibes! I was studied hard on the top of full time job, school and 4 kids. I need to pass
How'd you do?!? I'm taking mine in May!
We need an update!
- I Can't Tell You The Number of Times I've Listened To This Driving, Walking, Etc. I Passed My Exam Today & This Was Helpful, It's All In The Back of His Purple Book!
I listened to this the night before and morning of my test. It was helpful. I also have the book. Anyway I passed!!! Good luck everyone.
I PASSED!!! Thank you so much!
Thank you for the very helpful and detailed info !!! I passed the CPCE this morning!!! Your tape was so instrumental in my preparation! Thank you so much for being so informative and make the material easy to understand !
My suggestion to anyone taking this exam. Listen to this amazing lecture , but make sure you are actively listening and not getting distracted while listening . I also took notes on this and the combo of audio and the notes got me to pass!
The most important thing to me when I create these materials is to make them upbeat, and easy to understand, so please believe me when I say I really appreciate your comments and suggestions.
Hey Dr. Rosenthal, thank you so much for this Review boot Camp and your purple book! It really helped me. I give God all the glory for making it through my exam. 👍✅
Passed the CECE this month on the first try. Listened to this video frequently and studied the Purple Book. Thanks, Dr. Rosenthal!
I passed! and want to say thank you! lots of group counseling questions, don't neglect that section like I did. Also; if you can, take it close to graduation after or before doesn't matter, but doing it with a full case-load SUCKS.
listened to this 3 times leading up to my exam (as well as reading the purple book) and I passed 🎉
I passed! Thank you for all the tips!!!
I passed! I used Dr Rosenthal's study material. Give some extra attention to career counseling and group. You can thank me later
Thank you Dr Rosenthal, I passed my exam yesterday.
I take my CPCE tomorrow morning, very helpful to refresh especially on appraisal and research and program evaluation. Fingers crossed everything goes well!!!
Watched this video a few times and on the way to the exam. I passed on Saturday!
I PASSED! Thank you for the review.
Pray for me I have my test tomorrow in order to graduate in January 🙏🏽❤️ I know I will. #IamSmart,IamResilient,IamGoingtoPass🥳
Hope this will still be up in April. I am taking my test then and still have a lot of material to cover.
I got mine in May! Best of luck!
Good luck ! I take mine tomorrow 😌
How did it go? Any advice? I'm taking mine in 2 weeks 😮
@@margareteverett8994 how did it go? I have 2 weeks. Any advice?
I’m in the same boat as you! I got my Masters in 2004 and currently work as a school counselor. His book didn’t help me very much. Have you tried listening to any of Dr. Pam Turner’s videos?
Did this video help? I take the CPCE this Saturday!!!
I took this test on July 1st, 2024. I listened to it once a day the week leading up to the exam and also went through the purple book and passed!
I took the CPCE this morning and I passed!
I listened to this otw to my exam and I passed!!
Taking the CPCE tomorrow so I can graduate at the end of this semester! The Purple Book and this video have been so helpful! Let's hope I pass tomorrow!
I am going to take my NCE test tomorrow, whatever the outcome thankyou/ Gracias very much for your support and videos
Pass .thank you
Congratulations!!!
How difficult would you say the exam is? How long did you prepare for the exam? I’d love any advice. I’m taking mine this year, too - beginning of May.
My CACREP exit exam is April 19th to graduate. Tyty❤
How’d it go today?! I take it tomorrow.
I sit for the NCE in 2 days!!! Thank you so much for the refresher! I'll come back & let you know how it goes.
Im nervous, but with reading your purple book, taking notes, and using the Behavioral Pocket Prep app, I should do well. I'm keeping a POSITIVE ATTITUDE! 😅
I PASSED!!!! IM BEYOND ELATED. I passed the 1st time. My 2 biggest resources I used were the purple book (for context) and the Behavioral Pocket Prep App (for taking practice tests).
Be familiar with Career & Group counseling! That was a big portion of my exam (and I heard the same from others too).
Good luck to everyone preparing. I started studying 1 month before the exam.
THANK YOU DR. ROSENTHAL! Im forever greatful!
Thank you for the update and resource and congratulations!!!!! 😍👏🏽
@@craiizy1ify THANK YOU 😊
Did this video help you? I take my CPCE this Saturday!!!
@justinegarcia4997 Absolutely! I was shocked, but it really did. My main 2 studying sources were the Purple Book (3rd edition, not 4th) for context/information and the Behavioral Pocket App for taking practice exams. You got this! Let me know how it goes!
I PASSED THANK YOUUUUU
I passed the exam
Thank you
I’ll be taking my NCE Friday and I’m so afraid I’ll forget what I’ve studied 😮 been going through the book & listening to these videos! Anyone else afraid not to be able to pass this humungous test?!
I’m taking mine this Thursday! We will do great! No matter what happens, we will pass it at some point.
I passed! Thank you so much!🎉
This helped tremendously!
Thank you!
I was pretty worried about this exam because I’ve been out of school for 5 years and have an iron deficiency that really messes with my memory, but I took the test today and scored a 138. I’d like to thank you and the makers of the heme iron supplement I’ve been loading up on 😆
Ps- there can be some pretty substantial mental health impacts of iron deficiency (with or without anemia), so I recommend reading up on it a little bit because I’m willing to bet you’ve all encountered at least a few clients affected by this as well. It is also associated with infertility. It’s one of the many things that regularly flies under doctors’ radars
I took CPCE yesterday and passed. I listened to this 30 times over a month and then took a lot of practice tests online, I also spent extra time learning groups and career counseling which was good there was a decent amount of both. I take NCE in a few weeks! This tape is good but please go in and spend more time reviewing the specifics. There was only one question on Freud- what stage someone was in.
Thanks so much!! So helpful ❤
