Neat stuff! Fascinating things - I never would be able to do this due to my profession but it is still a very interesting and developing aspect of brewing!
As a home brewer who works in the cannabis industry, I often get asked about this product. I’ve historically stayed away from trying to make it due to personal preference (for me cannabis + beer = spins 🤣) but maybe I give this recipe a try!
NA and low ABV beers are definitely easier to stomach! I liked having the tincture too because you can leave it out when you don't want it and you can dose soda or anything else when you're not feeling a beer. Cheers!
Thanks dude! The Windsor yeast was fun to try and seemed to really help reduce the ABV and the cannabis part was fun to play with too. Highly recommend it!
Great video. I loved the topic, the presentation, shots, editing, music as always. The fade to a black screen with your yellow font on top looked very nice. Good Job!
Best video ive seen out there to date on this. I’ve seen a lot of those hop water tincture drinks but ive not ever tasted them. I need to go back to the states for a visit here soon 😂 bring back some weed beers and weed everclear
An important point that was missed is that cannabis is the closest relative of hops. They are brother+sister in the plant kingdom. More interesting would be to brew with cannabis in place of hops, experimenting with leaves vs buds. I've brewed with only wormwood. Or only yarrow. Dandelions would probably work. There's nothing so special about hops. Any bitter herb works well. I highly recommend wormwood. Makes an almost fire brewed taste like the old Strohs beer, and makes for very vivid dreams if drunk before bedtime. I test bitterness by making a tea with an herb. That gives me an idea of how much to use. Make tea with a heaping tablespoon of hops, and then you know how much of another herb to substitute for hops.
There's no good reason to avoid making a brew medicinal if it is an asset in health. Juniper berries, quinine, thyme, nutmeg, licorice, lemon peel, spruce or pine needles, etc. Generally, I add them to the final fermentation when alcohol levels are high enough to disinfect to avoid boiling. Another reason I try to avoid hops all the time is because I like a strong good bitterness, but they are loaded with phytoestrogens, which can make men develop breasts.
If ya want to skip adding the grain alcohol, you could use a vegetable glycerin tincture instead. I've never been a fan of alcohol tincture, but glycerin tinctures are great!
@@HopsANDgnarly I use flower to make glycerin tincture and it takes a few weeks to make properly. There are faster ways to get it to extract with vegetable glycerin, but you loose flavor.
@@HopsANDgnarlyuse concentrates with vg and yes the oil will bind, but try maybe an active already distallite or rso for an easier venture, that decarboxilation didn't seen like it was fully decarbed seeing that look of the sugar wax. I like to get either this sugar live resin or shatter I get like 8 grams for 40 and decarb it all. Actually made an excellent limoncello coming in at 25% abv and probably about 3,000mgs in tgat 375ml using an infused simple syrup in recipe having used a already made vg tincture. Also use mct oils as well. Lastly when you ingest any forms of thc it will be aided to the bloodstream by fats why using certain mixes in edibles is crucial and why "nano tech" has made great strides in edible digestion to the bloodstream.
I brew my own beer and have never tasted beer infused with weed but seeing this, I think I'd rather just drink my homebrew and regulate my weed intake by just smoking a cone or 2 whenever I feel like it. Great video though, thanks.
I want to make a flavorfull Hemp Beer with none to less THC. Im thinking of a Kveik NEIPA with CBD Dry Hopping ( Hemping). Would the 40°C harm the flavours of the Terpenes?
It’s not a perfectly homogenous mixture which is part of the reason I didn’t mix it into the batch but it does dissolve into the alcohol pretty well. In the interview he suggested using an emulsifier but I couldn’t get a small enough quantity. So I just give it a good shake before dosing and it works well
Out of interest, do you have formal training in biochemistry and microbiology? Ive noticed a few somewhat advanced techniques most brewers wouldn't know about.
I dont like the way cannabis acts on me (it includes vomiting and even syncope at times) but this video was informative nevertheless! Keep up the good work!
I guess chemicals effect people differently because thc is used to treat nausea/vomiting, syncope, anorexia, anxiety, seizure disorder, parkinsonisan tremors and a host of other things. It's a sham that it's still scheduled with crack and heroin in some states because it has a host of medical uses. It's really good recreationally as well.
@@erichlf I decarbed the concentrate for the tincture but you are right about the flower. That amount wouldn’t have made a difference anyways, it was just for flavor.
It's hard to believe this channel isn't bigger and more popular. Great content and production.

Stoked to see where this industry goes!
Man I’m so happy it was legalized in New York. Totally doing this! Looks like it could work wonderfully with some old school west coast ipas
West coast would be awesome! Let me know how it goes 🤘🏼
🔥🔥🔥. Going to grab that book up.
🤘🏼Link in the description if you wanna kick something back to me. Cheers!

Nice concept for a video dude, love the shiney shiney brew gear 2 😍
I am going to try one of these at some point, still have to grab a copy of that book, thanks for the reminder :)

this is actually great because hops and cannabis (weed) are in the same family!

Absolutely love your videos! I’m pumped to try this on my own.
Stoked you like them! Thanks for watching 🍻
Hell yea! i'm growing some Strawberries & cream right now. i've always wanted to do a lager with dried leaves
Cheers! I think trim would be a great way to make this a little more economical 👌🏼🍻
Best mash in ever! ❤️
Gnarly indeed!
Your equipment is amazing, one of these days I'll get something similar haha! Fantastic content and quality!!
I appreciate it! Cheers

Cross fade me, baby! Awesome content 💨
2:06 - Clearly, someone is completely baked while homebrewing. Isn't it wicked fun that way?
Hey dude, just started watching your videos there bloody good!
What brand/model is your mush heading unit with the touch screen?
Thanks.
Thanks! It’s called the Brewtools B40 and I really think it’s the best system on the market. Some links in the description to check it out

That’s a great suggestion! Would it dissolve easily in glycerin as well? Might have to give that a go

Cross fade? That sounds great to me 😆 The end of the video reminded me of when a friend gave me some mushrooms and links to RUclips videos.
🫠😂🍻
Cool
I heard that tune in your intro in too many adds, but here it fits perfectly😅
Disapointed with the brew, actual flower brings mega flavour ir you soak it fot a week and then add

When you dry hop it will be during fermentation around 18C
Vou fazer uma versão com o que temos no Brasil
Divirta-se!
Cool! Sadly can't make this here 😢
Not with that attitude

Great video! Super informative, I like the low alcohol idea for the beer too, don’t need no cross fading here 🤣
Thanks man! Fading right into nap time lol
Hey man, did you have the recipe for this low ABV beer? Thanks! Always love your videos and edits 👌🏼

Your videos remind me of Mr. Canucks Grow.
I’ll check it out
Damn dude that channel is awesome! Glad you mentioned it
Couldn't you technically substitute most of the hops with cannabis?
Yep it just wouldn't taste like a normal beer
Did you actually get the effect ?
Takes a little while for it to set in but yea if you consume active THC you're gonna feel it
Now i can get high and drunk at the same time
2:08 - when you've already been smoking the ingredients.
Hand milling grain😂 I don’t know how your rotator cuff is still intact.

Cannabis hyperemesis syndrome
why did you finger the grain ? 😂
2:07 The sexiness of this part of the video is to much 😍😁😉
As requested 🙏🏼🍻
You didn't decarboxylate so you wasted the thc. You should have used an rso to make the tincture.
What do you mean I didn’t decarb?
@@HopsANDgnarly to decarboxylate and activate the thc you need heat.

@@HopsANDgnarly I didn't see that in the video. I saw you add the sugar to the alcohol and that was it.

What’s next? Alcohol/weed/shroom brew?! 🎉
Hahaha actually shrooms are legal here too 🍻
I’ll be waiting for the video then! 🤪
The finger slow mo bothers me
