I’ve been trying for a while to find the right spot to get a recording during the monthly test! I’ve had a lot of lack of time over the last couple years though unfortunately. Trying to get a recording without wind or car noises. I have a street picked out, but I want to find an even closer spot, like in the original harmonics video.
@@progenitor_amborella yeah I just was where I was, I wasn't expecting it at all. I was actually on the phone with other siren enthusiasts when it started going off.
Oh wow!! That's gorgeous 😍🎶🎶🎵🎵🎼🔊🔊📢 I wouldn't even be scared. It would give me calm feelings to survive a tornado. This the most pleasant siren ambiance harmony i have ever heard. Kinda reminds me of Spyro The Dragon in a way with how the harmony resonates
Still to this day, the sound of sirens in any city with high buildings is both so beautiful, and so terrifying at the same time. The sounds put together make it sound like they're trying to sing a song together..really is incredible! But knowing why they're going off and knowing you're in a big city is equally terrifying.
I miss when Iowa City had the AL-6000s, they harmonize with the Whelens to produce like a perfect 4th. I lived near one of the AL-6000s for a few months many years ago and a Whelen was not too far away, the harmony almost sounded like a dual tone siren to me.
Wow! There must be at least four different sirens nearby as one of them is playing a constant drone C# and the other playing F# and is not spinning (hence the constant drone-like humming noise almost like a pedal tone of C# and F#); the other two must be revloving or spinning as you can hear the B and A# fluctuating in loudness. When combined, they play a F# major suspended 4th chord that resolves to the tonic (F# major itself) using the 4 - 3 resolution for the suspended 4th.
Lol I had the same thought - the harmony sounded like a perfect 4th especially when the AL-6000s were still around. The nearest sirens to here I can think of are a Whelen by the Pentacrest (part of the uiowa system) and a T-128 at College Green Park (one of Iowa City's 3 original T-128s before the AL-6000 and WPS-2806 replacements).
Question: Would you mind if I used this as a background for an ambient piece of music I'm working on? I'm not a professional so I won't be making any profits off it. If it's okay with you and when I post it you'll get a full credit for that track and I'll include the link for this channel on the post. I hope you'll consider it. Thanks.
Plot Twist: The Sirens are Not Meant to Warn everyone that there’s a Tornado. They are to Give Everyone Peaceful Harmony for their Last Moments during the Tornado.
this is just an audio clip relayed over a video form iowa. the real soud if from a different vidoe. and you can tell that therre is no real danger because there are pedistrians walking like everything is fine at 1:07
I guess where Iowa City has their sirens placed with the directional and non directional it makes an amazing harmony/ambience
This is like a lullaby to me. Listening to the sirens are great
So this is where the siren harmony video came from
yep, it was in Iowa City

Nothing like a little Ambient Wave music to calm you down in a scary situation 🤣

Are there any left at all? So sad they're gone but glad they were upgraded in the interest of public safety.
Tornado: IMMA GET YO ASS
Sirens: 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Tornado: wow I’m in awe
Very scary but musical at the same time! I would definetly go inside and take shelter if I heard this!
Chicago sirens: meant to scare people
Iowa City sirens: meant to amaze people
Pensacola sirens: meant to annoy people

Yes, there were I think about four or five sirens. Two Whelens and two ASC T-128s.

@@joshs4594 sure that would be fine! Sorry for the delay.
Finally I can hear it

Now I know where that famous siren harmony video was taken
Man, if only Iowa City still has their Alertronics... Still an awesome siren ambiance anyways!
Yes, that would’ve been epic
I don't know if this or West Des Moines is better.
Main character feeling, the music starts irl in the background on a rainy day

I can't decide if Ankeny's is better(2001s, a Modulator, a 3T22 and a 2T22) or this.
I wish the sirens in Attica sounded like this!
Question for anyone that knows. What sirens were these? Also, I can hear a lower tone one pitching up and down, which one is that one?
The High Pitched Omnidirectional Sirens: Whelen WPS-2800s I Think.
Lower Pitch ASC: T-128 I think.
Higher Pitched ASC: RM-130 I think.
@@JamesSpeed65 Thanks for the information, James!

oo just like that siren harmony yt short
That's because that yt short was also recorded in Iowa City.

It was the Winddowns

I probably wouldn't last long. I'd have a hard time going in before the sirens stopped.
