This was a valuable review for me. While other monitor reviews focus on gaming, I want a working monitor for other purposes. You did a great job of covering my interests. Thank you.
Thanks for the solid review. I own the panel myself and agree on your rating. Pro tip from me: For 21:9 on Netflix and RUclips I use the "Zoom to Fill" plugin. It gives you the option to crop content to 21:9 easily. And just fyi: Cinematic movies always have been shot in a 21:9 ratio. Before digital it was called Cinemascope, but it basically translates almost exactly to 21:9. So yes, this is how movies should be watched. Take care and keep up the good stuff!
@@AtHomewithLucas I think experimentation is certainly a good thing, but you may fair better jumping into the meat and potatoes of the video. Just my two cents, but kudos to you for making content. Keep going.
Yeah I'm just now filling the intros will loads of product and haven't really thought about time. I can definitely make them faster once I focus on editing the intro so they are more snappy. Thanks 😀
Great question...the S6 stand is 100% better. You can move it all over the place. The contrast is better on the S6 4000:1 vs S5 3000:1 and maybe a slight image quality boost on the S6.
Thanks for the review. I just received similar one yesterday and I have been unable to have the monitor speakers work. My question is does this monitor have external speakers?
I'm hesitating between the Dell S3422DWG 34'' WQHD and the Samsung ViewFinity S65VC. Which one do you recommend for content creation and gaming ? I use a Mac mini M2 pro + 32 GO RAM Thanks for your feedback
This one looks great. One thing you want with monitor arms is gas springs so you can move them easily. WALI Single Monitor Mount, Gas Spring Monitor Arm a.co/d/2i2tO5c
@@AtHomewithLucas First impressions are good. I have this monitor on a height adjustable table and from time to time the screen gets very shaky, but I can live with it. I kinda knew this by watching you video, so it wasn't that big a surprise for me :) The resolution is fine, but for office use it can wear out you eyes pretty quickly. I'd like to try the Samsung View Finity 9 with 4K resolution and see if it's any better, but this will do for now. Camera is going to have its first test tomorrow, but I'm confident that it will be just fine!
Hi Lucas, I cannot find an IPS version of the S6. All of these say that they are VA, please clarify: I have checked all 3 models on the samsung website and they are all VA, i tried posting the links here but my comments do not go through with links.
Hey so IPS monitor panels typically serve as compact flatscreens - like Samsung's 24-inch S40UA - while VA panels are widely adopted for curved monitors, like Samsung's 49-inch S95UA. Both panel technologies provide numerous benefits across all use cases and industries.
Thanks for the tips! I have started playing the sims4 and its so much more burry than my older monitor, is this because its stretched out? Using HDMI cable so not sure why it doesnt look sharp and the font looks really pixely. The graphics do not seem great at all. Any ideas?
@AtHomewithLucas using PC for sims using a multi hdmi adapter. Could it be that? Ps5 seems to be fine. It's having trouble recognising the hdmi input so should I try hdmi cables without the adapter?
Oh the Keyboard, Video and Mouse feature. Yeah I've never needed that so I always forget to review it. I'll try to review it on my next monitor coming soon.
*For shooter games like COD, would you say the experience is great among other 100hz you've tested before? I'm thinking of getting the 32" version for productivity then gaming in the side*
Don't go 32" get a 34" you will love it. It really is the future of monitors. But yes, Samsung makes a very smooth 100hz monitor. Other monitors are just not as smooth at only 100hz.
Hi. There its a good review, i was looking. For a review on this model wich is the basic S6, im thinking to get it to conect a laptop, but my question is on the usbc-c conection, does it support video and charge over usb-c or or just data,? This is one of my big concerns, cause the next S6 has thurderbolt conection but is way mlre expensive!, thanks in advance !!!
Hey Lucas. Awesome review! Just curiously, I was wondering how this screen compares to the Samsung Odyssey G5 34" Curved Ultra-Wide Gaming Monitor (took a look see at your review on this screen as well). With Samsung's EDU/EPP discounts applied, there's only a 10$ difference between the two, and I would like your opinion on which screen is ultimately better. Thanks!
@AtHomewithLucas Darn I'm having buyers remorse. Could you help me understand better why the Odessy is your recommendation here? I'm struggling to see how the odessy isn't the same monitor but with better Hrz. Any pros for the Viewfinity?
@White0ni let me say yes the ViewFinity S6 is a perfect monitor. But the Odyssey is better if you game or not. What makes a great gaming monitor also translates to a great daily monitor. If you can afford the Odyssey buy it. You won't regret it. What you get is a better display panel. Better colors and blacks with a faster refresh rate, which is good for all aspects of computing. Not to mention, it has a better stand.
Hi there! Looking at buying a work monitor for home and wanted to check if I plug my laptop in via hdmi if the quality on the monitor is still the same? Can you share the monitor screen if sharing screen on teams do you know? I am in between this monitor and the Dell 34 Curved Monitor - S3422DW. Thanks! ☺️
Hey, great question. Yes, the image will still be the same. As for teams, I'm not sure about that, sorry. This monitor is better than the Dell unless you will be gaming.
Hello. I am planning to buy this but my table’s dimensions are quite small (100x55cm). Do you think it would be overwhelming given the depth of my desk and the size of the monitor? Thank you
Yes, higher pixel density will give you better text. 4k is better than 2k. You also want more than 100hz refresh rate for smooth text while scrolling. I'd recommend a monitor with 120hz or higher.
If you have HDMI 2.1, the latest version of the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) standard, has a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz at 4K resolution and 240 Hz at 1080p.
Thanks for the review! I’m very close to biting the bullet and buying this. I have 2 questions though that I’m hoping you can help with: 1. Can I still get max refresh rate setting with using a DP connection? 2. Can I use DP connection for full resolution? Or does that only happen with a USB-C connection? Thanks!
Great questions. Yes, you will get full refresh rates and image resolution with Displayport. Displayport is still the fastest, while USB-C is more versatile.
