Red Dead 2 RDR2 Panther & Florida Panther Location / Spawn as John after Epilogue

- Finally after hours of searching videos and commentary I have found the elusive Panther and Florida Panther. The main problem is all videos are Arthur and they are during the day. Do this at night using the save file and then load file trick. Get to the location I point out and then save your file. If you mess up or the panther doesn't spawn then you just load again and rinse and repeat until you get what you want. I had to get both after the epilogue so I got the Florida Panther first, did some challenges for 100% completion and went back to the site several game days later. I was unsuccessful sleeping to make the spawn work but was doing at the wrong time of day so it may work.

I killed three Florida Panters southward off the Braithwaite Manor around Old Harry Hen as Arthur in Chapter 3 and had never encountered one since then. After Epilogue 2 I releazed that I hadn't studied, nor tracked, any of those three panters and headed to the spot to hunt again. Guess what?! Not a single Florida Panter was found around Old Harry Hen, no matter which method I applied - none of the guides I found online worked out for me. Only yours hit it right!

You're a lifesaver!! An absolute gamechanger! Finally went back to 100% the game and I've been hunting this Florida panther for hours in the wrong spot as John. Followed this video to the letter and had one studied, tracked, killed, and skinned in twenty minutes.
You have saved me hours and hours of searching on my own, or even giving up with only the Florida panther remaining for platinum trophy. With all of these useless, so-visited videos, this is the only way to encounter the animal after the epilogue.

I have spent hours trying the normal spawn locations, was begining to think that my game was bugged and was going to give up. I have gone through dozens of message boards and RUclips videos on how to get the Panther to spawn but you seem to be the only person to address this issue- thank you very much.

Down by Catfish Jackson’s - West of Shady Belle there is a spot where the Panther and Florida Panther spawn pretty much 24/7 (as long as you sell the corpse and skin). Happens for Arthur and John from day 1 game launch.
Mind blowing that people have so much trouble with this.
Only the Booby and Boas in Guarma are relatively challenging, and then only because most just want to get back from Guarma asap…

Thank you for this! Had a panther spawn every time, and the Florida Panther on the fourth try. There was a black bear that spawned near the boar on the map, and the Florida Panther spawned further down, on that fourth try. Amazing that it seems to be so hard to find this info anywhere. Not one site had this listed as a panther spawn even.

Thank you so much for this. For the past 3 days I've tried every single reddit thread I could find about panthers and none of them got me anywhere. I've probably spent over 5 hours in the woods surrounding Old Herry Fen and I have had absolutely zero results, not even a panther sighting. I've tried potent baits, regular baits, baiting with a fresh carcass, hunted at night, hunted in the day, did the rock strat, even tried just walking into the woods barefoot to try to get her to attack me but nothing worked. Just when I thought panthers were extinct in my game, I tried this spot out of desperation and instantly got a panther. It instantly ripped my scalp off, so I had to try for about hour and I've killed about 6 panthers and probably got killed by more, reloading the previous save if it wasn't a perfect pelt. Now, after all the pointless time I wasted in the Old Harry Fen, I've finally caught a perfect panther in 3 days. It was an exhausting journey, but I could not bring myself to finish chapter 6 without crafting the LOTE satchel legitimately. Oh, and I've decided I won't even bother trying to get 2 perfect pelts for the panther saddle... I still have a life.
My experience is extremely similar to yours, I spent DAYS walking on old harry fen, did absolutely everything, and this panther NEVER spawned

Because Catfish Jackson’s spot (actually three way intersection to the East) is a much better spot because they are always there and the rock allows you to do it completely safely.
It also has the added bonus of a short ride to sell the corpse so you can immediately get it to spawn again.
My last animal - Classic Panther, and it worked!!! Excellent guide, good job sir!!!

Thank you much. Tried everything and invested 6 hours of frustation on other methods and spots, like the one near braitwaith. Thought my game was bugged but than I found your method and it was the only one that actually worked. Thank you so much. Had a 100 % spawn rate every time. Sometimes i had to do manual spawn reset by doing a camp outside of the spawn area, than save the game, leave it, re enter it, sleep two times until night and the phanter was there every single time :)
The intersection underneath braithwaite manor / catfish Jackson’s /Bolger glade ALWAYS works for me to spawn a regular panther. ALWAYS. Sometimes without predator bait. Give a few days game spawn and let the carcass disappear before going back to another one. But I do need the Florida panther so I will be checking this method out

Genuinely of all the things i have tried with walk throughs for anything on RD2 this was by far the best one. 1st try… nothing, thought this guy was mugging us off and the comments were bots. 2nd try got a black bear and a standard panther. Slept for a day, came back and boom a florida panther. 3rd try. This guys legit a legend

THIS WORKS. This is the only way I was able to find Florida man cat. I loaded 5 times and on the 5th it worked. I let him follow me out to the open and when their agro dropped I studied/tracked them. THANK YOU

Thank you so much! This worked! I'll share how I achieved the illusive Florida Panther to anyone who is still looking to achievement hunt like me,
I set up camp on that road you recommended, saved my game. Proceeded on horse with my bow and poison arrows, and if I didn't get a Florida Panther, I'd kill either the normal Panther or Black Bear and would return to camp. I would then sleep twice, and then save & reload the save so that I could sleep another two times. By then the next predator had spawned and I had to repeat this strategy 4 times, 2 of which I got Florida Panther spawns but they proceeded to kill me lol.
Still works. Got the Florida panther first try doing this method. Thank you

Can confirm this still works. Do exactly as he says in the video. I found a Florida Panther first try in this area after looking for 4 unsuccessful tries near Catfish Jacksons, where regular Panther's spawn (and very rarely Florida Panther's). This is a great spot, thanks for the video
Hmmm…at Catfish Jackson’s I get the Florida Panther about half the time…this location not so much.

Arthur Morgan - "Thanks partner, you helped me out". This does work, took me about 6 tries but it worked, Florida panther was all i needed left. As soon as i looked at it with my bow to see what animal it was, it gave me the Zoologist trophy. I didnt have to track or study it to get it. Even though thats what it said i needed to do.

I found it OK, right before it killed me. On my compendium I need to track and study the panther but it's impossible as you only see them right before they attack.
You can…two methods (both by Catfish Jackson’s which is a far better location than this):
Run around on your horse, when you see the red dot race to the rock in the three way intersection, climb up and use either poison knives aimed at the butt (best) or poison arrows and quick switch the a rifle and rapidly study then track before it dies. The clearing is what makes this better, you have a good range of view with no obstructions. The rock makes it no threat.
The best method though is the same spot, but dismount your horse east of the rock and apply cover scent lotion. Walk past the rock to the road between it and the woods. Drop 1 predator bait and 1 potent predator bait and climb on the rock with your rifle ready. Look toward the woods. It will always slow walk down slightly to your left. It will not know you are there so no red dot and not aggressive. This allows you to study, track, switch to advanced arrows and head shot for a clean kill. Skin it and the compendium entry for either Panther is complete.
Really easy. I made a video to prove it because a live streamer was arguing there are no Florida Panthers after you kill the Legendary, and also that Bull Mooses are rare in game.

I've been trying out the forests south of Rhodes and never had much luck so I went up to the Marsh and just got a glimpse of 1 last night so you can be almost a week just to get a glimpse of 1 who did dash staff and didn't hang around so I couldn't even shoot in because I was picking some flowers when he appeared it seems there are a bit more nervous but thank you for this information
I spent DAYS, DAAAAAYS, Trying to find this fucking panther, I searched EVERYWHERE, on RUclips, Reddit, Google, Tried out EVERYTHING, ALL people would say is that I am unlucky because this shit creature NEVER EVEN SPAWNED, I couldnt find this panther ANYWHERE. And when I finally go to the location on this video I got INSTA KILLED by a Panther LMFAO, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW HAPPY, RELIEVED I AM, FINALLY, FINALLY THE AGONY OF NOT FINDING THIS CREATURE ENDED, YOU'RE MY HERO

You should try Catfish Jackson’s spot if you think this one is good.
Guaranteed Panther every time with a rock for safety and a wide open area to study and track.
