For those wondering why the Water Land theme sounds so much like the Fairy Fountain theme, it’s because both songs were inspired by a 1980 Japanese city pop song, “Morning Glory,” by Tatsuro Yamashita.
@@IWillSmiteYou Koji Kondo did this a lot, actually. The main Mario theme was inspired by T-SQUARE’s “Sister Marian”, the starman theme sounds a lot like the intro to Piper’s “Summer Breeze”, and the underground theme is almost identical to Friendship’s “Let’s Not Talk About It”.
@@IWillSmiteYou If you want more, there’s also Mort Garson’s “Concerto For Philodendron And Pothos”, which inspired Zelda’s Lullaby, Bonzo Dog Band’s “Keynsham”, which inspired the Powerful Mario theme from SM64, and the Spinning Tornado Shot Theme from Dodge Danpei, which sounds almost identical to Gerudo Valley. I don’t think any of these were confirmed (that last one especially), but just listen to them and you’ll get it.
@akaKay Homework done! They all really do sound very similar. I found one myself that sound eerily similar and released around the same time. Nobuo Uematsu's One Winged Angel and Symphony X's Pharaoh.
Just listened to you play some Metal Slug tracks and had to ask, please play "Into the Cosmos" from MS3, that song slaps HARD and I'd love to see you cover it!

Super Mario brothers 3 really pushed the limits of the NES and playing it makes me feel like I’m playing one grand adventure.
