It's sad that they did less remixes in Tokyo 2020, but we can't really blame them; they went really hard in the previous installments. Too bad it basically became a load of EDM for a good amount of the 2020 events as well. 😓
If there is ever one certainty its that Sega's sound team is fantastic. I can fathom that this was probably Tomoya Ohtani's work and Olympics are just great with their remixes. I forget if all remixes are done by Sega's sound teams or if Mario songs are remixed by Sega and Sonic songs remixed by Nintendo composers but every song thats remixed always has interesting directions and feels taken. Bowsers Galaxy Generator is a personal fave remix its just so funky.
I love it when he actually gets to play instead of reading/interacting with the chat. This one and the smash medley are the ones that come to mind where he just gets to rip. More medleys please!!
The SEGA Sound Team is something magical, their soundtracks are far and away the biggest takeaway from the Olympics games for me. I really wish they got to remix more stuff like this; Sega Sound Team covers in Smash or having them do the music for a Mario spinoff would be amazing.
