I can feel the gentle snowflakes falling on my face as I stand in a lonely wood in Kursk, Sviridov's birthplace. Amazingly beautiful.
WONDERFUL. SPASSIBA!!

Great composer. Great work. Thumbs up. Hats off...
Sveridov is an excellent stylist, Mighty Handful would embrace him happily. I feel as if he extracts from the depth of my soul, for my childhood something and orchestrates it. But what is absolutely astonishing, after listening his melodic, Slavonic melodies suddenly such an vanguard, almost Proletcult "Vremya Vpered!", cosmic, industrial energizer! I wish he had longer productive life and wrote more, especially symphonic music.
Liryc, nostalgic, contemplative...
Why this music is not famous?
Because 99% of the "romantic" music of the XXth century is unfortunately little-known/unknown. The only composers of the XXth century that music critics highlighted are the ones who destroyed the tonality... it's a modernist bias, highly debatable.

+collectionCB2 That's true. Do you have more orchestral works of Sviridov besides this triptych and Time Forward? Thanks :-)

Georgy Sviridov is the best composer of 20 century

In Maliy Theater in 70th and 80th there was a beautiful play 'Tzar Fedor Ioanovich", with Solominov as Tzar. The play was a tremendous success and one of the reasons this Treptich by Sveridov was part of the play, very organic, as if written with a personality of Fedor Ioanovich in mind.
This work is absolutely beautiful! I looked it up after having the good fortune of listening to it live, played by the St Petersburg Philharmonic a week ago. Works like this should be on the world's playlist!
One of the great too little known pieces of fine music in the modern repertoire. Also play his "Poems in Memory of Eisenin."
Melancholy of the Slavonic chant in its deep sensitivity and expressiveness.
a true beauty. i've been at the concert dedicated to the composer's 100th anniversary, directed by Fedoseev, it's been unique (watch?v=OBLEdwJ_d-I).
Thank you very much
The third part is unbelievably beautiful, and with such simple means. As we all, always new it, that nobody wrote, that I had heard it before. This music had always been. Did Sveridov wrote it? Or simply wrote it down?
Fantastic music
