This game is my first MMORPG, and it is really making want to play more! I love the freedom of creating your own character and flying around metropolis, as well as the freedom to choose whether you want to be a hero or a villain. Very good switch game, definitely worth the space it takes up!

This game is great for free if your a DC fan ! and the grinding pays off u dont need 2 spend money just make sure you make a good build
It's weird seeing some people really take the whole Marvel Vs Dc thing so damn seriously that they would compare a game that came out in 2011 to one that was just released in 2019 😕

I like Marvel and all, but DCUO is a dream game for comic fans, being able to make your OWN superhero in the DC universe and interact / battle with iconic figures from that universe.

I’m having a blast on it. I’ve loved this game since it first came out. Wood doesn’t like most RPGs. This game is nothing like Marvel Ultimate alliance 3 and shouldn’t be.
Marcelino Dreams yes this is an open world pvp game, best MMORPG on switch at the moment, brings back a lot of memories from ps3 days 😂

@@kowabungaus1820 It's pretty good. Though many people are still leveling and that has everyone out in open world or instances doing stuff, so at times can look a bit empty.
But starting to see more and more people each day, since it only just came out.

I played this game when it launched on PS3. I’m a DC comics fan so it was a lot of fun. The world building and powers are great. BUT... it was endless payments just to continue playing. At the time you had to buy the game, first. On top of that, I think it was like $70 for a legendary membership for a year (don’t quote me on that as it’s been awhile) which included access to all DLCs... Only to find out you were just leasing the content and once the membership was up you lost access to those DLCs. If I’d have known in the beginning, I would have just bought the DLCs individually. At least that way it would have been available to me forever. Felt robbed.

And then check the marketplace that the cheapest amount you can get is 500($5) and the next amount you can get is 1000 ($10)

2:25 yea max lvl is 30 but after that it’s CR (Combat Rating) which is basically Gear Amour lvl and that is an endless pull of levelling up
The games great but, I would love to have Batman Arkham Asylum and City on Switch. Fully physical too would be great!

Really hope they give a next gen update for ps5 and series x. Already runs like butter at 60fps and i love the style, but better draw distance and overall textures/resolution would be a welcome improvement. Game held up really well though and despite having multiple games coming out here soon i will probably wait and play this for quite a while.
This game have the best character customization I've seen in games. On my account I made 30 marvel and dc heroes or villains and they all look excellent. My favorite is Jean Grey as phoenix. She literally have shiny fire effects on her clothes (and that cost a lot of in-game money).

Having an MMO on a mobile device is awesome. Even if it's old. I hope more MMO games go mobile so I can play at night in bed with my gf sleeping.

All these comments of people surprised that MMOs charge 15 bucks a month subscription makes me feel old. Like really? That's pretty standard subscription price for MMOs since Ultima Online back in 97.
Super bummed they havent added crossplay. My son watched me play on my switch lite and wanted to play so downloaded it on his ps4 and was sad to find out we couldn't play together. That's a shame cause if it became a genuine bonding moment then the devs woulda gotten 2 subs from me plus maybe a few micros on the side. Damn shame

Maybe you're thinking of City of Heroes? Basically the same game without the DC branding. That one is dead yeah.
Haven’t checked it out. Wish it was the same exact concept in the Marvel World. Ultimate Alliance isn’t the same thing. Thanks for making me realize playing it on the PS4 way back was more than enough.

Good review! I have been playing this a lot more than I thought I would on my own Switch. Have always enjoyed this game, but figured I would properly review it for the Switch version. Being that I have been a long time mmorpg player I can hit some points that you didn't cover in your review.

Can someone please tell me how to use chat in this game. The only way I can switch tabs is if I tell a chat to someone nearby. Is there a way to switch tabs and get the menu up without having to chat to random people. I just want to switch tabs from default to combat and loot tab can someone please help me. Also I keep getting invites to groups in my chat and have no clue how to join them when they send a message in my chat box or even click on the message in chat. I say again the only way I can get the chat box settings up is if I go on someone nearby and it opens the menu for the chat box but doing it my way only let's me chat to that person nearby. Please help

Why all the negativity? This video and the comments are a little disappointing. I first started this on the PC many years ago and the fact that I can now play this handheld on the Switch is amazing. I see no reason for comparison to something like MUA 3 either, it’s a great game also but not to be compared to an MMORPG...
The comparison makes little to no sense. They are different genres of games all together, and this is from 2011.... MUA 3 is super new.
Well the actual game is maybe over 10years old by now. CoH & Champions Online came out somehow in the early to mid 2000s or when MMOs were becoming a big thing. Vaguely remember some of it.

It's a waste of time if you do not subscribe. Free & premium level status players get treated like crap.

This game really scratches my RPG itch. Yes, Warframe is a beautiful game with great controls and a fascinating universe to explore, but I love DC too, and I don’t have to grind for endo to level my abilities.
Grinding for endo! I think I have mild PTSD from grinding in Warframe ! I love the game , it’s so exciting , but man they make you grind too much !
The graphics are significantly better on console and less glitches

NEMOSmokes24 it barely is still around. The game doesn’t have much of a playerbase anymore from what I hear. It probably won’t be supported for much longer I mean it’s already 8 years old at this point. I’m guessing it’ll end up dying when next gen starts

Exactly. This game is old and MMO's always look terrible when compared to other games of their time. That's never been different.

@@MedalionDS9 dude mmos in 2011 were not pretty. This was pretty standard. Yea there were other much better looking games at that time but mmos were not known for graphics at the time.

You can totally play this game solo if you want to. I've been playing it solo, and I'm having a lot of fun with it
There's a ton you can do solo, and you can also get pretty far solo... But the real fun is the group stuff honestly. And there's by far a ton more group content compared to solo.

its not so bad i mean its free, but i hear after you hit max level you need to pay pay pay for endgame and that is normaly the dead for some mmoprg. But i really hope someday the port WoW classic or ESO on the switch that would i play everyday!
Im loving it! I played it when it first came out on PC and didn't like it as much as I do now.
Lightning powers are good. Especially the electric power with the cloud I hits everybody
i downloaded it and played it for an hour zzzzzzzzzzz sorry its awful , the lack of sound when hitting the enemy was what really got me tired of it fast , i had it for the PS3 and its still dull since all those years ago …. i had to go in and out of the settings screen 5-6 times to lower the music volume as a pop up screen to suscribe was preventing me from doing so

I was hooked on it years ago on the Xbox one. I was pumped when it came to the switch cause I love the switch and I want to balance out playing my Xbox one and switch equally. But I keep mainly on my Xbox cause the switch lacks big names games. I am a huge assassins creed fan and if the switch would start bringing out the newer ones then I would definitely be playing the switch more cause of the portability aspect
not enough space.. my 256 gb card is full, need 400/512 sooner or later^^ would love to see final fantasy XI on the switch regarding mmo´s, but that wont probably happen anymore :/ would also be happy with FF XIV or a localization of Dragon Quest X or a native english version of phantasy star online 2 since sega translates it now for pc and xbone (sadly switch has only a cloud version :( )

This game is slept on trust and believe that people dont understand that the most important thing todo is gain feat points how do I know this people dont even know to join up with another person who has a different mentor to get more skill points lots of people wont play together if they knew you could run with a lower lvl todo thier main missions youd gain mad powerpoints because you never achieved the same powerpoints that pertain to the other person's mentor can only pick one mentor when creating one charachter so only way to get the other mentor powerpoints is to either make multiple charachters wichalot of people do to get feats from different movement speed races wich are races in the game set to what you picked as movement flight speed run ect

If you want to do damage learn how to clip skill animations with a weapon like a one handed sword

I played it on the PC for a little while, but I'm downloading it now on my Switch and I'll give it another go now they seem to have fleshed out the story. You can't go wrong for free so if it sucks I can just delete it and I don't lose out on money. I'm totally against microtransactions though.
opinions are opinions...BUT this is the game that the switch needed, because theres nothing mmo on the switch outside of maybe warframe :/, if you dont like comics like rgt here this game is definitely not for you ....i've played it routinely on the xbox, but this being on the switch is perfect, and the level cap is not 30, thats the just the level you get to before gearscore comes into play, find people to play with and also it has NATIVE CHAT, so no using that crappy nintendo app, just plug in a headset with a microphone into the jack and you can just start talking....i use my xbox headset on the switch to chat

Actually the max level is 30 but the combat rating goes up to 284 like a level. I'm 276 right now and yeah Im to addicted to this game 😍
I've played DCUO for many platforms. I always just stop playing it after a few days. Maybe I will play it more on Switch. There's nothing really like on the platform. I would play Ultimate Alliance but I'm beyond tired of paying 60 dollars for years old games on Switch. It's ridiculous

When you say more superheroes, does that mean I get to play with Batman or any other DC heroes or is it just my custom hero? Because only playing a custom heroes in a universe never really interest me. Same goes with that X-men game back in the day.
Naturally you mainly play your own hero. It's a MMO, that means everyone plays in the same world. And it would be really weird to have 200000000 batmans running around doing the same things. You can play as the real heroes in PVP, but other than that they are just for storytelling and sometimes they might be a boss or an ally in a mission.
