His armor is pretty incredible, but his arms and back seem a little less due how thin the armor is spread out, which how eren managed to damage it before.

What I find to be cool is they explained the Jaw as a purely offensive Titan, but the first time we see Gilliard's Jaw; he's shielding Gabi and Falco. He continues this by protecting Reiner, then later he shields Pieck and Gabi.
Really makes it clear how big the gap between titans and humans are, I like to think the Jaw is purely offensive in titan scale; in that its only chance at besting other titans it go 100% mobile and offense. It did very well against Eren’s attack titan, and would probably have had a good chance at beating him if the Ackermans weren’t there. But on human scale, its completely fine going on defense, as small caliber weapons barely even tickle it.
I suppose it's because Porco was supposed to receive the Armored Titan, but was sidelined due to his brother. So when he did receive the Jaw Titan, he tends to use it for defence

Reiner may not be the strongest titan shifter or the best fighter, but there's something special about him. He is depressed, suicidal yet he still wants to atone for his sins and protect his beloved ones. He seems more human in battles than Eren, perhaps even more emotional, while Eren grows to be colder and calculated as time goes by.
He's not the best fighter because that is not his job as the armored titan. He's not a offensive titan, he's a defensive titan that's all about defense. He's the tank, his job is to escort his troops to their destination while providing cover from enemy fire and also to destroy gates, walls and enemy fortresses. Look at this battle. Reiner came in tearing shit up, got shot a few times, brushed it off and annihilated that whole fort with 1 arm and it took freaking warships to bring Reiner down while eren in Marley was getting torn apart by small cannons and had to go on defense by covering his nape and the warhammer took advantage of the situation and knocked off eren's head so soon after transforming and eren had to call in the scouts before he got killed. In war, in a battlefield Reiner dominates eren in every way, strength, durability, experience, destructive power. but in hand to hand combat eren has got the upperhand.
I’m actually pleasantly surprised at their use of CGI. It’s definitely far superior to the use of CGI in the previous seasons for the Colossal Titan. It’s less obvious to the common viewer, even if it’s noticeable to the meticulous viewer. Overall, i think a great reintroduction to Zeke & Reiner and a well-executed exercise in world-building from the Marleyan perspective!

This episode would've made a bloody epic WW1 movie in a world where Titans exist. They kept it so human in the sense that how armies would use Titans in war. This sequence by itself along with the brilliant music is one of the most epic things I've ever watched. If there are anything more epic than this, please do refer them to me.

Reiner has completely learned from his experience on the island to remove joints to move quickly in the Middle East battle, instead of receiving attacks and will limit receiving attacks to cause great damage.
You can say what you want about Reiner but the dude is a beast, he fought through depression, doubt and defeat and still managed to survive and serve as a shield because thats what the Armored Titan is, a shield. All while being the Titan hit the most in terms of usage because of technological advancements starting to make Titans obsolete. Others would have crumbled and died. This is what it means to be a warrior imo.
My favorite scene 0:23 Reiner transformation, with that drop damn 1:55 Reiner scream (+Ballerina scene) 3:29 Reiner and Zeke combination, Zeke appearing from the smokes is very cool wth
I'm glad to see even though there is new episodes and clips that this scene itself is just pure amazing. The music and scenes fit so well together and I actually prefer Reiner using the train in this instead of how the manga chapter was.
Fr, I think the cgi looks better than 2d titans. The movement looks a lot more fluid which is good especially considering how much we're going to see titan fights this season
Also, the scene where Reiner decides not to wait for the help of the Alliance, but to prevent Zeke from carrying out his plan, shows that he is reasonable. In the first fight with Eren, thanks to his battle IQ he and Berthold were able to complete their task.(almost) But most people like to call Reiner a worthless shifter and a fighter.

People except him to fight like eren as if he's built like the attack, no, he's not a fighting type he's a tank type. The armored titan is based of brock Lesnar who isayama is a fan of. Against opponents like eren who are faster and have more freedom of movement yeah he'll struggle a bit. Put another shifter who fights like him, a brawler type then yeah he'll dominate. He's been training since he was a child he would know how to kick another titans ass.

You can say what you want about Reiner but the dude is a beast, he fought through depression, doubt and defeat and still managed to survive and serve as a shield because thats what the Armored Titan is, a shield. All while being the Titan hit the most in terms of usage because of technological advancements starting to make Titans obsolete. Others would have crumbled and died. This is what it means to be a warrior imo.

Also, the scene where Reiner decides not to wait for the help of the Alliance, but to prevent Zeke from carrying out his plan, shows that he is reasonable. In the first fight with Eren, thanks to his battle IQ he and Berthold were able to complete their task.(almost) But most people like to call Reiner a worthless shifter and a fighter.
I’ma keep it real I get how he wasn’t supposed to get the armor and how it was handed to him,but hes not a terrible fighter and we could’ve have some good respectful fights between him and eren but if we’re being honest they were just nerfing Reiner’s ability as a titan and fighter

People except him to fight like eren as if he's built like the attack, no, he's not a fighting type he's a tank type. The armored titan is based of brock Lesnar who isayama is a fan of. Against opponents like eren who are faster and have more freedom of movement yeah he'll struggle a bit. Put another shifter who fights like him, a brawler type then yeah he'll dominate. He's been training since he was a child he would know how to kick another titans ass.
