      Better late than never, honestly. I’m still bitter the englington isnt a true subway. But whatever.
      I hope we can extend the western portion of the Ontario Line so it goes up to Dufferin and up to line 2. It would be great for that transit desert.

    • @TheSharkasmCrew
      @TheSharkasmCrew 2 месяца назад

      Well technically they expanded line 2 in the early 80s, added the scarborough extension in the mid-late 80s, expanded university line in the 90s, built line 4 in the early 2000s, and expanded the university line again in the late 2010s. But yeah I agree they're remarkable unambitious and seem to always be reactive rather than proactive.

    • @TheSharkasmCrew

      @@tcsnowdream9975 that would be pretty sick. Could go up dufferin after a stop at queen and ossington, and then curve over to the junction 😳 they could also be utilizing the UP way better, if they had a station at liberty village, junction, and maybe mt dennis, and made it cheaper then it would be like a whole 'nother subway line! I don't get why its so pricey, in vancouver you can ride from downtown all the way to the airport for standard skytrain fare.

    I hope more subway lines in toronto are built above ground with elevated guideways! Lots of streets outside the core are wide enough to accommodate the space, it doesn't have to worry about red traffic lights like lrts and is cheaper than tunneling. the davenport diamond elevated guideway shows it can be done in toronto, quickly and relatively cheaply

      How, the problem south of Bloor was ALWAYS east-west traffic, even with the inception of the subway. And the Eglinton line is suppose to help with east-west traffic north of Bloor. We don't need a line crossing the downtown. What a waste. And seems all Doug Ford has done since being elected was give developers free reign to tear down shopping centers, restaurants entertainment venues, retail, and put up ugly condo and apartment towers. So not only is congestion 10, 100, 1000 fold, we have less and less places to go. Toronto is a very very sick city.

    • @ant8504
      @ant8504 Год назад

      @@jab2780 this line's main goal is to relieve the north-south traffic that exists on the Yonge portion of line 1. It's actually way better planned than previous relief line which would have had little functionality besides the aforementioned goal, at least the Ontario line will provide connections to more communities. Although I do agree with your critisms of Doug Ford. I personally believe that the Ontario line is a much needed project but I feel his motivations for greenlighting it is to take the attention off of his concessions to his developer buddies.

      @jab2780 Год назад +3

      NO. Canada was founded by very specific people, just as every "indian" tribe was on the continent. "Indians" fought for land just as every other peoples on the planet. Canada is NOT a nation of immigrants. It was founded by Europeans for Europeans. I'm not against immigration, but I am against this idea Canada, USA, and increasingly, UK and Europe are for everyone and anyone, but outside the West is okay for certain peoples and that land belongs to those peoples. The land under EVERYONES' feet was fought/taken by someone. Europeans founded Canada and USA. Period.

    • @jjjiljjjj
      @jjjiljjjj Год назад +1

      @@jab2780 Canada and USA were built already by the First Nations. The illegal European immigrants came, committed genocide, stole land, pillaged and destroyed villages and towns, committed mass rape, and then distributed the land to other illegal European immigrants. Since then, so much of what was built in Canada, from the railroad to the ports, to the factories, towers, highways and cities were built by immigrants, from European to African, Asian, and Latin American. Even today, the food you eat that's "grown in Canada" is likely done by farm workers from non-European countries. The banks, tech, stores, consumer products, cars, everything made in Canada or imported to Canada is made by people from every corner of the world. I don't know what kind of programming you've been a victim to for you to think "Canada was built by Europeans for Europeans". We're all human, and we all want peace, shelter, belonging, self-fulfillment, progress, and prosperity. Unlike the rest of the world, Canadian society has managed to bring the entire world together and show that we can coexist without any issues, and that our safest and best economically performing regions are our most diverse as proof.

    Choo choo! This thing will rocket at literally tens of kilometers per hour! Hurray, we are so great! Eight years of construction for fifteen kilometer spur off an existing subway! Aren't we just the best, a real world class city?! Meanwhile in China, they have twenty thousand miles of high speed rail, all of it constructed since the year 2000. Of course, they didn't spend the last twenty years invading Iraq, Afghanistan, haven't brought peace and democracy to other countries in the form of military occupation and humanitarian bombing. This pathetic excuse for a transit system is the very best the ruling class of this city is prepared to allow. The best. If this "modern" piece of crap gets built by 2050, it'll be miraculous.

    Amrit: thank you for your video! If I may, I'd suggest to make it better, please, avoid the "OK?" after each statement. Or just edit them out. It sounds as if you were extremely anxious or in a rush to finish your video. Thank you again.

    "To be completed in 2031" ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
    When this was first announced in 2019 I believe they said 2029 or 2030 at a cost of $10.9 billion. It is now into 2023 and cost is now at $17 to $19B and we are saying 2031. We haven't even broken ground yet and we are already $7 to $9B over budget and a year behind schedule.
    We will be lucky is we see this before 2100 and only God can guess what the cost will be ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
