Damn… saw this today. Johnathan majors did a great job… his body language was a perfect characterization of someone who’s spent time in the pen and just got out… that constant tension and anxiousness… the way he walked and talked… always keep his head on a swivel in public. Intense.
🙂 To be truthful they didn't need to use the Damian is a "dirty fighter" angle with his character, they should have just made it that Dame is truly a skillful and unorthodox opponent to deal with (which he is)... He was already very menacing just because of his institutionalized from prison vibe...💯

Yeah that was a weak point and his lack of fights. They could have had this movie take place over one year he comes in and gets the title shot and we get a montage of three fights he took every 3 months. The frequency of the battles could be attributed to him feeling like he needs to make up for lost time. And drop the dirty angle like you said, it was unnecessary.

Just saw this yesterday. Best Creed Yet…..I love how Creeds Wife always on his side when it comes to handling business in the ring. It’s a contrast to Rocky’s wife saying “You Can’t Win” even though Drago was a nightmare so she had his best interest at heart 😂
That’s not 100% what she meant. If you watch the whole scene Adrian was telling him that even if he won, he was going to lose everything. It was an unsanctioned fight. There were going to be consequences. She was making the point that beating Drago wouldn’t bring back Apollo. Adrian was always behind Rocky, she just didn’t want to see him hurt.

I personally like Creed 2 a lot better. The whole arc of Adonis' soul searching and finding a way to carve his own legacy instead of adding to his father's, getting over his psychological barrier after getting demolished by Drago and losing all of his confidence and drive, and finally the incredible desert training scene building himself up to be an immovable wall in the face of the unstoppable Drago. Incredible movie.

I think Creed I had the best main fight so far. This one was more technical and looked better on screen but didn't have that feel. Shit none of them have had that feel from the first 4 Rocky movies. I think Creed is a great modern interpretation of the Rocky franchise. People complain about Rocky not being around, but it's to show character growth. Rocky is has this giant gravitational pull. This movie showed that Adonis was that dude. Similar to Rocky without Mick in Rocky 4. This one was combined Rocky 3+4 elements.
