How about employment opportunities! A friend lives there and has been trying to convince me and my family to move down there but I make great money here in a factory and am worried about not being able to find something similar.
Have a Masters degree in Social Work. May change careers. Are there jobs and affordable housing? I live in OR and there's a 2% vacancy and rent is outrageous

Hahahaha, yeah I hear you (no pun intended). My goal was to also make sure that people moving here knew that it was a real thing, since some people who do come in specific neighborhoods notice it and are surprised.
Some of us do not want to live in an area with jet noise. I'm looking to move to Virginia Beach. I've already lived with Jet noise in my younger years and want more peace and quiet.

I definitely disagree about number 10 that there is no culture outside of the beach. It may not be highlighted but there is definitely rich historical culture inland virginia beach

Ironically, there is literally no difference between a commonwealth and any other state! A few states use the term, but now it's just a name. There were British roots and it had more meaning back in the late 1700's when it originated ("common" and "wealth" implied the fact that the people had a collective influence on government.
The building might not be great,,,,, Ahem Kempsville!!! Ocean Lakes HS is highly rated and they have a great football program but class sizes are larger whereas Kempsville HS is more close-knit due to a smaller student body and students get more individual attention per student.

@@k.d.3213 VB has some awesome schools, has a couple of poor schools. If you select your area wisely you will be fine. VB is consistently highly ranked in the top 5 in the USA for schools/safety/recreation.

Great question! It all depends on what types of jobs you're looking for. What field are you most interested in?
Public school system, Canon, several industrial parks, tourism, music venues. All kinds of opportunity!

Don't move here if you're poor. Very few opportunities besides tourism and resteraunts. You'll be trapped.
Public school system is good opportunity for some😃
