Wow! I grew up in Virginia Beach, in the early sixties. We lived at 3320 Belmont Court, in King's Grant. In 1964, that was the place to live. My siblings and I went to King's Grant Elementary School. We left Virginia in January of 1968 and moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. What a culture shock it was for us! I watched this video and am just amazed at the growth in that area. I'm sure I wouldn't recognize anything there. I sure have great memories of playing at the beach and it was just a happy, carefree childhood for us there. I hated Louisiana and left there in 1987, to live in the Midlands of South Carolina. Love it here but would live to take a trip back to Virginia! Thanks for such an informative video.
Great presentation indeed. I am a retired Navy Chief and live in KC now working for Veterans Realty. Helping my fellow veterans find homes in my area. I lived in Virginia Beach, Portsmouth and Norfolk from 1982-1988 so the area has changed alot. I was able to visit recently in 2019 and this summer of 2022. Love the area. I bit more crowded now and I love the jet noise. Brings back memories. One of my best memories was renting a home at 401 1/2 22nd St Va Beach. Three of us rented it for 350 a month in 1983. In 2019 I met the owner which is a realtor and she let us come in and tour the place. She bought that cheap back then and now it is worth alot. It is true that they are building alot in south Virginia Beach. I would of loved to own some land before that happened. I may make it back there one more time but if I don't it will be the best place I have ever been in my life and career.
This was seriously the most informative video. After spending a month watching other videos, and actually spending the past week in vb house hunting, I came home more confused than ever until I discovered this video. Thank you!!!!
I grew up in Kings Grant in the 70's. It is a fantastic neighborhood, as is the entire Little Neck area. I have never seen a better, or more comprehensive real estate video than this one. Great job!
I have been watching videos about Virginia Beach and its surrounding areas because we might end up moving there. Having never been there before the options are dizzying. However I have got to say that this video was by far the most comprehensive video I have found so far. If you can be this thorough in a home search for us then we will be contacting you if we decide to move to Virginia Beach. Thanks!!
Lived in VB near Green Lakes for 20 years, have lived in FL for 10 yrs now. Watching you go over the different areas and their pros took me on a trip down memory lane. Not in the market for a house but this is very informative on what makes VB a great place to live. 👍
Will, This is a truly incredible overview of real estate in Virginia Beach. This has to be the best piece of marketing material the Layton Group has ever put together, so professional, so detailed and visually and topically entertaining. Very impressive, thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge is such a user friendly manner.
I really fell in love with VA Beach while I was stationed there from 81 to 85 and try and visit every 4 or 5 years during the October off season. Retiring in a couple of years and these Michigan winters are seeming less appealing all the time! Thinking about retirement there, can you speak to how it is for retirees?
Your videos are good but they are addressed at people with a lot of money, it would be good if you make videos about apartments but at affordable prices, thanks
If you live affordable apartments in this area, it will be section 8 or worse and those areas are hell. Lived there for over 20 years. This area is unique in that you either got a lot of money and live in a nice area, or you dont.
Holy smokes this an excellent real estate video . We have bought 2 homes in VA Beach and I still feel like I learned a ton. Wish we could do it all over with this new info 😂
Not to sound weird but your voice is AMAZING 🤩 like I had to watch the video again to really get the information and it was very helpful thank you so much because I’m planning on moving to Virginia soon and don’t know where in the state to go yet and this helps.
Wow! Looking at retiring in VA in a few years (coming from too-hot Texas). Hubby is former USAF. Looks like we have our choice for a real estate agent when the time comes. GREAT video!!
We just bought our home in Virginia Beach Courthouse States. We love the neighborhood, the commute is a bit long to the Norfolk base but is totally worth it.. your video was really helpful. 👍🏻
Great video, very informative. Having lived in Virginia Beach growing up, this opened up more of my perspective of the city that I didn't even know about. Thanks!
But Virginia Beach is not like anywhere. If all you're looking for is a place to live, then anywhere will do. There's nowhere else on the east coast that gives you salt water, waves, beach, boating, fishing, wildlife, and lack of crowds in a state's largest city and within 20 minutes of an international airport.
Preach it preachit truth be told....sellouts dime a dozen.......yeah nobody wants to pick up carpet and look at dirtpile higher than Everest....9 "clams" hour down that way laughable i live in rustbelt west of Appalachians filled w drugs crime decay......we dont have 9 million Fed jobs w fat benes and loads of paid holidays. you too can own a particleboard mansion in a sinking city folks......the video is fantastic great presentation regardless. "way down yonder......". yep
I assure you California is MUCH pricier and the homes will be smaller with smaller lots. I’m currently in Orange County, CA moved from Los Angeles. It’s gorgeous but it’s not nearly as “affordable” as Virginia Beach if we’re talking equal views and neighborhoods
How are you not even going to acknowledge Pungo and Blackwater. Many people want to live outside of the city in a country setting but still be relatively close to the base and the beach.
Pungo and Blackwater are definitely the best areas for some. The best neighborhood for one person might not be the best for someone else. This video is just the tip of the iceberg. I'm happy to help both buyers and sellers in Pungo, but I find that there are far fewer of them than in other areas. For most people it's not the best choice. For some, there is no better place.

😂😂😂😂 a fighter pilot making a RUclips video on best neighborhoods?? I knew this video was going to be so thorough. You did an excellent job!

I’m from Va Beach. Born and raised. My mom and stepdad live in south of Virginia Beach. A new house. It’s like 700 grand. Pricey. Pricey!!

Little Neck. Kings Grant. Munden Point or Pungo if you want country vibes that ain't too far from shopping.
Yup gorgeous my hometown. Although it's getting really crowded these days and pricey 😏

This is an amazing video thank you. I wish there were videos like this covering all areas!
Glad you liked it! I have several more videos on the channel. Check them out.
Solid point on new construction at 14:30 great video
This is extremely helpful as I’m trying to narrow my search. This is the best video I’ve seen with concise information.
Thanks Heather!

I was stationed in Virginia Bch , Virginia at The Army Base . It's A Beautiful Community Indeed It Is.

I grew up in Thalia and in Kempsville both are great areas
I lived in aragona for over 30 years. Had a gf from Thalia on Edinburgh. I miss the 757.

Hope you choose Virginia Beach! We'd love to have you.
Wow! Looking at retiring in VA in a few years (coming from too-hot Texas). Hubby is former USAF. Looks like we have our choice for a real estate agent when the time comes. GREAT video!!
Well done! Just what I was looking for!
wow.. great presentation.. people in other markets should study this.. curious to know what the data says now too
We just bought our home in Virginia Beach Courthouse States. We love the neighborhood, the commute is a bit long to the Norfolk base but is totally worth it.. your video was really helpful. 👍🏻
Well, you definitely don’t want to live in Norfolk LOL
@@218maryland we did for a few years. It wasn’t bad in the neighborhood we lived. But VB is much better.
@@Lulu-y-Edu Absolutely. Im glad everything worked out for you and yours. All the best
Great video. Very informative!!
Bravo. I would work with you as a realtor in a heartbeat.
As someone who lives in California and currently enrolled in college, I could definitely see myself here.
Please don't move to Virginia from California. Or at least don't bring their political views with you. Thank you.
@@becca5027 I'm conservative :)
@@becca5027 for the sake of this comment by family & I (democrats) will move to Virginia from Ny. You intolerant piece of ***t
What a content! Great Job Sir. V/R
Very thorough review. Great job!
I lived in Kings Grant and went to FC.
This video was made three years ago. What would the ranges be now for the areas mentioned?
A big new video is in the works! I’m sure he’ll go over it again. Source: he’s my dad.
I’m from Virginia Beach Ayyy now in Dubai great opportunities in UAE
This was very helpful!
Thanks, Matt. Let me know if you have any questions.
Nice vid! Good overview. Go Army! 🍻
This is amazingly helpful. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into this!
Virginia beach is cool if you enjoy having every conversation you ever have interrupted by screaming obnoxious jets.
You sound bitter. Did a Navy guy steal your girl?
Great video, very informative. Having lived in Virginia Beach growing up, this opened up more of my perspective of the city that I didn't even know about. Thanks!
Same here!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have made videos of many of the parks in Virginia Beach.
depends how much money you have like anywhere

Thorough.
Zip codes would help. 54321
Well detailed 👌 👏
Can you recommend a low income area?
Hi Logan. That's a tough one. Low income can make it tough to qualify for a loan. I'd start by talking to a lender to narrow down your price range.
Good value can pop up around Lake James from time to time as well as Kings Grant.
Blue state $9.00 an hour minimum wage.😂😂
If you aint in the military or dont come from a family with money, youre pretty f***** living in this area. Sombodys gotta tell the truth lmao

I can't tell the difference between the prices there & in California. They're about the same so I may as well go to California
California is a lot bigger than Virginia Beach, I'm told. Let us know where you end up.

That prices 3 years ago 🙂
