Not surprised that Portsmouth would NOT be on this list, though it is my favorite in all of New Engkand! Those property tax rates all pretty high, as they offset the no income tax/no sales tax. How about NO govt, or at least, very little? NH is a very attractive state - at least for the 5 months from Mother's Day to Columbus Day

Hi Barbara, for short term I suggest exploring Airbnb. In some cases you can find very nice monthly rentals. You could also try Craigslist or Marketplace, since there's usually less large scale developments on there.
You obviously haven’t been looking in the right places. I’m sure there are some blighted tenements available for $300k that only require another $150k or so for plumbing and roofs…
@@LivinginNewHampshire Thank you for your prompt response, is your agency can assist with renting furnished apartment? And if yes ,how long before I move should I contact you? Again thank you for your assistance.
@@samialkhuwaiter1123 No worries, I'd be happy to help. Ideally at least a month, that way we can start exploring various areas and available options. When you're ready just send me an email: Cody.barna@exprealty.com
Consider Berlin. Though it has its issues, it actually is part of the Berlin/Gorham area and between the two city/towns, it has basicly everything you need. Berlin property prices has risen slightly over the last few yrs, but are still much more affordable than other areas of the Northern NH area. Berlin has a fairly good internet infrastructure so remote work is very possible. The tax rates are higher than what the video stated, but because of low assessment values of property, the taxes are still very reasonable vs. the other areas of NH. Downsides of living there, somewhat tough living in the northern climates as far as being cold. If you love the winter sports however, then you are in the perfect location for all of them. I loved living there, but.... winter was just to much for me and my health. So now I live in the south central part of the USA. I miss lots of things about being in Northern NH, but the winter.... yeah not so much. Lol
My mom was from Lancaster, NH. It was a nice little town when I was growing up and we would visit my Grandparents. Absolutely love NH and the White Mountains.
I grew up in NH and retired to Florida. NH is a beautiful state. I used to love both weeks of summer.
🤣
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!
That actually appeals to me as someone with an autoimmune illness. How long does the autumn last?
Clever!! I grew up in Rochester and moved to Florida in 94. I am central relatively safe from hurricanes!

Weird to use single family home stock photos when giving each city medium home value that look nothing like the actual homes in those cities.
Home prices are way higher now (Aug 2021). At $27/1000 a $300'000 home is over 8 grand a year for taxes. That's close to $700/month
Yikes
Try living in upstate NY
Dartmouth College is located in Hanover NH, not Lebanon.
FYI: The name of Coös County is pronounced “KOH-oss”, not "kooz".
Oregon is where they have the kooz. Coos Bay.

Anyone who thinks that NH is affordable has not had to pay for a heating bill there in the Winter!
When I think of Berlin and Manchester, for some strange reason I immediately think of poverty and serious drug abuse, kinda like Southern Ohio.

There aren't any left. Too many rich people moving in and buying up every available piece of Real estate. Normal people can't buy houses here anymore.

Any inexpensive homes or condos in southern NH.. we like to visit Kennebunk. Thanks
Rochester??? Any homes or condos.
How about renting (long lease)a furnished apartment? Is it possible in those towns/ cities?
Absolutely, it's definitely possible to find furnished apartments within the larger cities...Manchester, Nashua, Portsmouth, etc.

Not little ol Claremont NH with the 40 dollar property tax per 1,000. I have lived here for 23 years and it really has nothing to offer
Thanks for the heads up, we're looking for homes in NH, as California is a dumpster fire

Great thing about high property taxes: keeps the price of homes down. Still can’t afford to live there, but y’know….uhh…umm…
At least $450 a month in property taxes.
Thank you
You're welcome!
He’s off about a hundred thousand. And then there are the bidding wars. A modular home goes for 299000.
Keep in mind this video was made early last year. However it's still possible to purchase.a house for $300k depending on location.
We want to move here desperately, want the mountains, the prices are high.
