Did everyone forget The Safety Dance had a video? Because… what? And Numb was to far up. At least it shows he’s trying to be numb/oblivious, so there’s sense to it.
"You're Beautiful" is not a love song, it's a story of a guy seeing his ex-girlfriend with her new boyfriend while on the London Underground and realising he blew it and will never be with her again. The video is him describing this while preparing for suicide. I guess subtext, metaphors, and the literal lyrics of the song all went over your head, WM.
Not gonna shame Britney for gimme more. Feel like she's been thru enough tbh. It was a comeback after her mental breakdown so it's understandable that she didn't seem "all there" knowing what we know now.
No matter what you've been through you shouldn't put out less then perfect music videos that can be rehearsed and redone to be great. I blame her management for not really caring just wanting that money but we can't deny it wasn't up to par with her other videos.

Is nobody gonna bring up that Watchmojo released a "10 most evil Irish" video for St.Patricks day and it has been taken down without a word. Interesting.
Sorry Mojo, but your opinion on the Avril Lavigne “Hello Kitty” video is purely Western in its scope. The video and song were pretty well received in Japan, which was exactly who it was made for.
I would have put Katy Perry's Bon Appetit on here. It was an already on the nose song taken to the most literal extreme and it wasn't cheeky or fun, it was just gross.
The "Do what you like" video by Take That is basically a video about orgies. Within seconds of seeing that video that's the first thing that came to mind
As an early 80s Billy Squire I can unequivocally say that the Rock Me Tonight video torpedoed Billy's career. I can clearly remember my friends and I sitting in a room watching MTV waiting for the premiere because video premieres were a big thing back then and we all looked at each other and said "WTF is this?" And started cracking up. 😂😂😂 We never took Billy Squire's music seriously again. 🤷🏼♀️
C'mon you totally missed an opportunity to bring up the WTF?! video for Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" which has to be seen to be believed. My theory is that the director thought he was being brought on to do a remake of Children of the Damned and since he was a really scary guy, everyone was too scared to tell him otherwise and just went along with it.
I think the remake of "Take on Me" was a complete remake including the video. They really didn't change anything in the song, but the video was just an updated version of the original. The original had drawings and the real world interacting whereas the remake had computer graphics and the real world interacting. So I think they just remade it to be more modern, but sometimes you just should not mess with a classic. Kind of think of it like the remake of "Footloose." It just should not have been done.
As much as I love the Panic! At the Disco song “Hey Look Ma, I Made It”… the music video was not what I imagined and made me cringe. But thankfully not as much as “BB Talk”, which made me lose my lust for Miley. What was she thinking indeed.
