      I would love to see a video on how much you made from this specific stock photo shoot if possible. Not sure if you are able to see revenue for each photo but if so, that would be so neat! Also, I would love to see a video of y'all trying a type of photography you've never done before as a sort of challenge:)

    This is really helpful. I've sold a handful of travel photos of myself on Twenty20. I'm Black and fat, so people looking into diversity like my pics. I'm also a petsitter, so I need to up my animal pics game. Thanks for showing us your shoot. I'm inspired! 💗

    Stock photography is an awesome passive way of making income online. While you're out and about, just shooting a few extra "more stock" photos can pave your way to making a couple hundred bucks a month!

    Its true about the logos in stockphotography. But you can set the image to editorial on shutterstock and they allow logos and other trademark protected things to be displayed because that image will mostly be used for news articles etc. Cant use logos in regular stockphotos though.

      Just don't focus on or do stock photography until you are actively making enough money to cover bills and rent with your actual photography business. Thats something you do far far far down the road....heck you might never get around to it because you are too busy with clients.

    Thankyou for the tips, I am new to stock photography but these tips help. Also can you explain why no HDR helps sell them more?? I always felt a good HDR helps balance the image a bit better.

    Could be a dumb question. New to photography and learning the ropes thanks to you both! I took a shot of a kid playing with a drum stick and barrel while i was in New Orleans didn't know about the release. How would i go about selling that photo or I am out of luck?

      you'd need a parent/guardian to sign a release or else you can't sell it.

    Love this! I keep questioning whether stock photography is dead as a viable source of income but I think you do well to show that good, creative images that are of the time and can work with the stories that are being told now will always be valuable. Now just to find a good niche stock site(s) to start shooting and submitting to!

    Haven‘t Heard anything positive about Stock Photography in a Long Time, usually People Tell you that you don’t Make Any Money from it.

      As a person who has been doing stock for a while, you heard right. And the pictures of you cute little pet and people etc. are so over saturated on these sights that your little picture will not do well at all. So by the time you invest in the proper equipment, the time and effort..........well at a few cents a sale......The only person getting rich off your picture is the stock agency.

      There are a whole slew of free stock sights now as well. You can't compete with FREE.

      $16,000 in 4 years doesn't sound like good news to me especially considering how time intensive creating stock photography can be. Just donate plasma if you're happy with $16,000 in 4 years. I know they referred to the stock work as a side hustle but even as that, those numbers aren't appealing for everyone.

    I'ld love to know how much are you usually making in one month and how many pictures have you uploaded? I have always noticed that more pictures I have in my portfolio, more I will earn in a month, so I am just curious to know how many pictures you have for this kind of higher amounts you showed in the video.
    And which are the sites that you are using?

      never a percentage of sales. we always just do a fee for the shoot.

      no branding or logos is in the photos, so no. we used black gaff tape to cover the logos.

    That was a great video, and so was Daniel's passive income video. Curious, when you set-up a custom shoot like that, obviously you get them to sign the rights over to you, right? And do you pay the models? or cut them into your revenue? (getting a cut sound complicated)

      yes, we always pay models - usually a little extra if they agree to sign our model release. no backend cut because that'd be way too hard to keep track of.
