HOUSEKEEPING: 1) what other kind of videos do you want to see? 2) one person can buy the outfit we selected for jasmine for this shoot here: depop.app.link/PgNDahwFFY
I would love to see a video on how much you made from this specific stock photo shoot if possible. Not sure if you are able to see revenue for each photo but if so, that would be so neat! Also, I would love to see a video of y'all trying a type of photography you've never done before as a sort of challenge:)
This is really helpful. I've sold a handful of travel photos of myself on Twenty20. I'm Black and fat, so people looking into diversity like my pics. I'm also a petsitter, so I need to up my animal pics game. Thanks for showing us your shoot. I'm inspired! 💗
Stock photography is an awesome passive way of making income online. While you're out and about, just shooting a few extra "more stock" photos can pave your way to making a couple hundred bucks a month!
hi everyone ,if anyone else is searching for earn cash making ways to make money with your camera try Loctavan Camera Cash Strategy (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate got excellent success with it.
@Ratul Dutta eh, even if they're your friends you should still pay them for their time, especially if they model professionally. Unless they just don't mind.
Just about a day ago I decided to fully immerse myself in making money from stock photography, and when this video came out I knew it directly it's the game
Loved the photoshoot series. But this felt more like the Mango Street style which got me hooked on this channel! Plus I learned a ton and maybe now I can start using my photos to make some money! Thanks for the video also Carlton's photos are AMAZING
I really like this video and would love it if you two expanded on the topic by explaining how should you best price the photos you have on each servicer.
Its true about the logos in stockphotography. But you can set the image to editorial on shutterstock and they allow logos and other trademark protected things to be displayed because that image will mostly be used for news articles etc. Cant use logos in regular stockphotos though.
the "Next" section was thee best! haha. Thanks for all of this! Now, after the shoot how many of those pics would you upload and how do you determine which shots should or should not be uploaded to sites?
Ohh nice, you're getting me motivated again to get going with some more Stock Photography - it's always a little hard to be motivated for stock photography because you need to wait for results to come :/
I've been interested in this for a while but too scared to try it. We are a single income family and my photog business is just getting started. You have given me the confidence (and knowledge) to give it a whirl! Thank you!
Just don't focus on or do stock photography until you are actively making enough money to cover bills and rent with your actual photography business. Thats something you do far far far down the road....heck you might never get around to it because you are too busy with clients.
Can y’all talk more about the uploading and submitting processes? Like key wording and descriptions. For me, that’s the absolute hardest part - actually getting my photos found. Loved the video! Thanks for making :)
Thankyou for the tips, I am new to stock photography but these tips help. Also can you explain why no HDR helps sell them more?? I always felt a good HDR helps balance the image a bit better.
Thanks for the insight and for the tips. Loved the squarespace ad! Lololol Also just want to say I love your videos and your storytelling style. Your channel is becoming a staple during my RUclips binges at work when I should be working. As for videos I'd like to see: I actually really enjoy the lifestyle, vlog videos, but really any videos you guys post catches my eye. Thanks for the creative inspiration!
Could be a dumb question. New to photography and learning the ropes thanks to you both! I took a shot of a kid playing with a drum stick and barrel while i was in New Orleans didn't know about the release. How would i go about selling that photo or I am out of luck?
Love this! I keep questioning whether stock photography is dead as a viable source of income but I think you do well to show that good, creative images that are of the time and can work with the stories that are being told now will always be valuable. Now just to find a good niche stock site(s) to start shooting and submitting to!
Hey guys great video but one question. What was your cost of this shoot and what do you think you'll make on in the next 12 month having it up on the site?
I am a commercial photographer. And I have been uploading photos on 10-12 stock websites for the last 3-4 months.Only 8 of my photos were sold on Shutterstock. Please tell How to increase the sales of photos. What kind of photos to upload
As a person who has been doing stock for a while, you heard right. And the pictures of you cute little pet and people etc. are so over saturated on these sights that your little picture will not do well at all. So by the time you invest in the proper equipment, the time and effort..........well at a few cents a sale......The only person getting rich off your picture is the stock agency.
$16,000 in 4 years doesn't sound like good news to me especially considering how time intensive creating stock photography can be. Just donate plasma if you're happy with $16,000 in 4 years. I know they referred to the stock work as a side hustle but even as that, those numbers aren't appealing for everyone.
I'ld love to know how much are you usually making in one month and how many pictures have you uploaded? I have always noticed that more pictures I have in my portfolio, more I will earn in a month, so I am just curious to know how many pictures you have for this kind of higher amounts you showed in the video. And which are the sites that you are using?
we told you the site we use and showed you screenshots of the actual graph from that site that breaks down our income year over year. you can check our our profiles if you want by searching for our names on the site 🤝
Been putting stock photography off for too long and you guys just gave me an idea on a niche that isn’t heavily shot yet. Thanks! any advice on selling photos directly to companies for use? Like stock photos I know they’d need? Also this video was amazing, you guys fucking killed it!
Love this video guys! I have a question though. How would you go about compensating the model? A percentage of sales or a one off fee for the shoot or just get models that want to work TFP? thanks again and keep up the videos, I love them!
That was a great video, and so was Daniel's passive income video. Curious, when you set-up a custom shoot like that, obviously you get them to sign the rights over to you, right? And do you pay the models? or cut them into your revenue? (getting a cut sound complicated)
yes, we always pay models - usually a little extra if they agree to sign our model release. no backend cut because that'd be way too hard to keep track of.
Thanks a lot for this video guys ! I noticed Daniel is using a really good looking leather strap for is camera and I'm actually looking for one as well. Where could I find it ? :)

Your travel vlogs are awesome and unique. Always love to see more of those. (You should come to Texas)
i want more videos on rachel's channel
but
you two should do more budget-oriented videos and do higher ended videos (i know thats vague but
I would love to see a video on how much you made from this specific stock photo shoot if possible. Not sure if you are able to see revenue for each photo but if so, that would be so neat! laura tigwell literally was going to suggest this exact thing, I think it’d be super helpful.
another video where you use cheap, budget cameras to take great shots would be very cool
I’ve watched a number of videos about stock photos this morning and this one is by far the best.
I love when people get creative with ads , not just copy and paste , it makes the whole experience way more entertaining , love the ad.

I was wondering how much you pay your models for the shoot and what it's depending on? Thank you for the great video!
I was wondering the same thing?
id love to see a video on this as well!
This please!
@Ratul Dutta eh, even if they're your friends you should still pay them for their time, especially if they model professionally. Unless they just don't mind.
this depends just on you and on your model :D why would you need someones advice on that?
Just about a day ago I decided to fully immerse myself in making money from stock photography, and when this video came out I knew it directly it's the game
I think Stock Photography could be one of my passive income streams! Thank you for sharing these tips & tricks on what kind of photos you should take.
Rachel has impeccable dressing sense. And it impacts Daniel as well!
2019: The year I subscribed to a creator because of how they delivered THEIR AD.
Also, just damn good content in general! Keep it up.

You guys have the best photography / film content and everything about the production is golden and well made
I love your creative ads. I always look forward to watching them
Never skipped a squarespace ad because I'm always looking forward to what you guys come up with.
This channel is a blessing 🙏🏽
The aesthetic from this channel is off the roof!
I love every single photo you've taken!!
best ad for Squarespace ive ever seen!
Watching your videos is so inspiring
I remember seeing one of your images as the picture for a cover fashion challenge! It was so cool to see!
I really like this video and would love it if you two expanded on the topic by explaining how should you best price the photos you have on each servicer.
you don’t get to choose the prices. you agree to the platform’s price.
Its true about the logos in stockphotography. But you can set the image to editorial on shutterstock and they allow logos and other trademark protected things to be displayed because that image will mostly be used for news articles etc. Cant use logos in regular stockphotos though.

best square space ad ever!
I loved the ad! so original and cute!
best video by far that I have come across on this topic. THANK YOU
I would love to see another lightroom video talking about Color Profiles. and maybe the tone curve. I have so many issues with the curve.
You both are just the best, keep inspiring us.
The King & Queen of portrait photography
Can please do a video on creating a photo book, and the legalities behind it? Do you need to have signed releases from the models?
Can y’all talk more about the uploading and submitting processes? Like key wording and descriptions. For me, that’s the absolute hardest part - actually getting my photos found.
Loved the video! Thanks for making :)
Damn that squarespace ad was awesome 😂😂😂
Do you guys shoot lower aperture and such and just boost the colors in post production?
Also, if all ads were like that Squarespace ad, I would actually watch them lmao
Animals photos are always very catching. In my opinion most people want some of this kind in your ambient. Great video as always, guys!
Best Squarespace add ever!!!
You guys are inspiring as photographers and also i LOVE the way you do your sponsored clips
Seriously the most entertaining photography channel on RUclips 😂❤️
No one never did it like you... keep going ..thanks for this amazing content
You guys have some amazing ads. I thoroughly enjoyed this.
This just got me hyped to try to start taking stock photos!
you guys aren’t my 2nd favourite photography youtube channel. y’all are my one and only faves all time 🥵🥰

Awesome. Incredibly instructive. Would love to know which of the photos you took sold best.
This was so interesting! And also I really love how creative you guys always make the squarespace ads 💖
Again great video, awesome colors, inspiring and full of useful tips.
Very helpful! Keep up the smart work!
So, do you pay the model just for the photoshoot or do you share a percentage of the profit with her?
Haha... everybody has this question 🤪
@Millie Elangbam Is that a lot?
that ad was such a nostalgia trip omg XD
I see you are using the Ona Bowery bag, will a canon mark 2 6D and either a 35 or 85 fit? Thanks in advance
yeah, i don't see why it wouldn't
@@MangoStreet thanks
Could be a dumb question. New to photography and learning the ropes thanks to you both! I took a shot of a kid playing with a drum stick and barrel while i was in New Orleans didn't know about the release. How would i go about selling that photo or I am out of luck?
you'd need a parent/guardian to sign a release or else you can't sell it.
I want to start uploading stock videos but i am scared of using FTP. how safe is it?
Well done guys. VERY informative.
Thanks for the information! I have recently been wanting to look into stock photography 😊
Thank you, guys!
Hi, great can you plz make video that how to upload pictures on it?

I always love to re-watch this video, including the ad.

I LOVE JASMINE AND WILL

Huge hugs for sharing such secrets about stock photography. Love you two ♥️😍
Thanks for all the advice... How much should I pay the models for this kind of shoots?
7:42 is soooo gold. hilarious ep.
Tucking this one away for down the road. Thanks for making this. :-D
What if you have old photos but you need model releases, how do you share profits with model?
I was wondering how it works with for example the cover of a book being in the shot. Does that count as a logo?
Haven‘t Heard anything positive about Stock Photography in a Long Time, usually People Tell you that you don’t Make Any Money from it.
There are a whole slew of free stock sights now as well. You can't compete with FREE.
$16,000 in 4 years doesn't sound like good news to me especially considering how time intensive creating stock photography can be. Just donate plasma if you're happy with $16,000 in 4 years. @@TNGphoto i know. I used to do stock 25 years ago when it paid well. It was a great side hustle back then. Wish I worked harder at it.
I was replying to them about this in another comment thread, glad im not the only one who thinks this way haha

hi i was wondering what website did you use to publish your images :)

Love this video guys! I have a question though. How would you go about compensating the model? A percentage of sales or a one off fee for the shoot or just get models that want to work TFP? thanks again and keep up the videos, I love them!
never a percentage of sales. we always just do a fee for the shoot.
@@MangoStreet okay thanks guys!
Do we also need the scooter brand's model release to sell the pictures?
no branding or logos is in the photos, so no. we used black gaff tape to cover the logos.
Using "grandparents" to model the merch is flippin' genius!
woa no words, great one, quick, and packed of usefull information pretty much how every youtube video should be
Your self made ads are f****** hilarious 😂
What about tattoos?? Are they allowed? Without a release?
That was a great video, and so was Daniel's passive income video. Curious, when you set-up a custom shoot like that, obviously you get them to sign the rights over to you, right? And do you pay the models? or cut them into your revenue? (getting a cut sound complicated)
yes, we always pay models - usually a little extra if they agree to sign our model release. no backend cut because that'd be way too hard to keep track of.
@@MangoStreet awesome! thanks!
How can I get model release of a kid I took a snap off on the streets when I was on a trip? Or is it not applicable as a stock photo?
yeah, you can’t sell a stock photo of a stranger without a release 💁🏻
Thanks a lot for this video guys !
I noticed Daniel is using a really good looking leather strap for is camera and I'm actually looking for one as well. Where could I find it ? :)
it’s an ONA strap and we just gave one away a couple of weeks ago. turn on those notifications! 🤠
