    :30 -- What’s up with the Dallas Cowboys? Why does it feel like Jerry Jones is setting the organization up for major changes after 2024?
    8:00 -- Should the New York Giants have drafted a QB? Either way, the boys seem to ride with Brian Daboll
    12:00 -- Boone loves what the Pittsburgh Steelers have done this offseason, which launches the boys into a lengthy Mike Tomlin discussion. How meaningful is it that Tomlin has NEVER finished below-.500 in his NFL head coaching career?
    23:00 -- Dumb Football Questions! Should more fringe or retired NFL players consider the UFL or Arena Football? Would you watch those leagues if washed up, famous NFL players played in them? Plus, you won’t believe the trainwreck that occurred during the Arena Football League’s return this past weekend; What happens if a drafted player elects not to sign his entry-level NFL contract?

    Im an SDSU alum and loved Mason McCormick. He was on the board when we picked in the 4th. Do we regret not snagging a DUDE at G? Loved our draft but this bugs me. I don’t think we hit the mountain top until we fortify the IOL and develop the run game, which go hand in hand.

    As a Ravens fan, the Steelers are definitely scaring me with all their offseason moves. They had a great draft but also their free agency signing... especially if they start Justin Fields, they are going to be a very scary team for the next few years at least.
    Their floor is literally 9 wins with Tomlin... 9 wins is a down year for the Steelers!?!

    Hey guys love the show! My dumb football question is this if a player like Caleb Willams (consensus top player) didn’t want to be drafted by a crappy team could he just not enter the draft and sign with the team he wants to play for as long as that team wants him. Also tell Alex Boon to try out Nanosphere the song Swamp Dimension I think he will dig it.

    • @purplereignCO
      @purplereignCO Месяц назад +1

      Player can elect to not sign and sit out the season, re-enter draft the next season, sit out again if they don’t like the second team, then get signed as an UDFA. But UDFA signing pool is not a lot of $$ and cannot get new contract until after second season so sacrificing a lot in the first 3-4 years of career to pick their team.

    Here's a checklist for you:
    1. Well run organization
    2. History of drafting well
    3. Only 1 top ten draft pick in last 18 years
    4. Great head coach
    5. Super Bowl pedigree as a team
    Given that, I think it's somewhat unremarkable that the Steelers during Tomlin's tenure have managed to be mediocre to above average for so long. They've held pick #10 once and otherwise have not really had franchise changing draft position. But they draft well which keeps them from having a huge drop off in performance. One could argue that in order to vault back into the NFL elite, they need a terrible year to get a top five draft pick.

  • @jakethornton4856
    @jakethornton4856 Месяц назад

    First, it is in the rules that if a player refuses to play for the team that drafted them they can not sign and re-enter the draft the next year. Bo Jackson did this when he refused to sign with the Bucs then got drafted by the Raiders the next year. Second, tbh even tho I like Mike Tomlin I decided last year that I wanted him gone as the coach of the Steelers. True he does win games in spite of not having a great offense but part of that is he refused to not have the worst OC in the league who he just replaced with another OC that isnt that great( even tho I think Author Smith did look better his last year in Atlanta) and the Steelers had multiple opportunities to draft a QB when it was obvious that Ben wasnt going to last much longer and waited till they were forced to draft Kenny Pickett and now the have Russell Wilson who is the worst qb in the division unless Watson plays bad but Watsons team is a lot better. I do like them taking a shot with Fields but part of Fields issues was he wasnt coached well and the coaching at Pitt isnt going to be much better on offense.

    All teams have to have their ups and downs. Most fans and owners won't tolerate some bad seasons but that's how you reload on draft picks, especially quarterbacks

    • @mikeharper3459
      @mikeharper3459 Месяц назад

      And let’s be honest, Daniel Jones never had a chance in NYC (aka Jersey)…I’d go as far to say that the team was pissed that Goofy Eli’s time was up (and never forgave that idiot coach for needlessly and spitefully breaking his starting streak - Madoodfus…). All I ever read is how desperate they are to get rid of him when he’s been beaten senseless for 5 years straight. I’m actually shocked he re-upped, guess he drank the single good season koolaid too. Personally I think they’re all hanging on for Arch Manning because the Mara’s are sentimental dudes!!!

    I'm going to defend Sirles, I understand Boones no work comes before family part however if J didn't put as much work and stress into these roles would Boone want to hire him as his agent? Like Sirles Job IS to create careers for other people.
    I'd say in a normal world yes family over work but in JS world where is trying to land jobs for 3 other family's I think he gets a pass for putting that first ON DRAFT NIGHT for sure free pass

    I disagree with Boone. The Giants weren't in a great position. They missed out on the top 3 QBs due to the Patriots staying put. They were left with reaching for QB 4-6 or not picking a QB. I was more surprised they didn't trade down and try to gain picks which they could use to move up next year for a QB.
