I had read that it is actually not about his ex wife. I read that it is about someone who helped him get through some tough times and he developed feelings for that person, but the feelings were not mutual, which was very painful for him. And this song was his expression of that. At least this was what I read. If i can find the interview I will come back and link it, but it may not have been from a website
this is literally the only reaction Channel that I can stomach because he really does react rather than just giving short responses like that's cool or wow. I really wouldn't mind seeing a reaction of venom by Bullet for My Valentine
Thank you so very much for the VERY kind words! And you hit the nail on the head- I make sure I REACT in my REACTION videos. I've seen reactors who sit silently as it plays and basically just say "Way cool" when it's over. THAT is not reacting- THAT just makes ALL reactors look so bad! So I REACT- and thank you so much for getting it :) Take care, and thank you for watching, enjoying, and commenting!
It's about loving someone so much that you become them. Obsessive love...Slipknot style. Nothing is ever normal with them...which is what makes them great.
Indeed. His lost was so much to him, that he had to cross dress to remind him of her. His stalking of her is just him trying to relive that time she left him.
Sometimes when you love someone so much, you start to become them and even surround yourself with anything to keep their memory suspended in time even after their departure.
On the background and themes of "Snuff", vocalist Corey Taylor said the following: "This is the slow one. It's another personal one. Again, not naming names, it's about someone who helped me through a lot and I thought she felt the same way that I did and then she really let me down.
please react to Through the glass by Stone Sour :) by the way thanks for reacting to snuff, i've never really liked the video but the song itself is one of my favourites.
It's an incredible video it's such a deep concept i love that they lead singer corey taylor Is the guy in this video he really does a great job getting into the character it's a bit tragic seeing this person so obsessed with a woman he goes to those lengths to feel as if she's still there
That part where he broke the glass was actually not scripted. It was an accident, and he really did cut his hand badly. The crew loved it, and told him to keep going, and it turned out really cool. That shot where the glass breaks and there is blood everywhere was the first take where he broke it. That blood is all his, and he actually had to go to the ER afterwards.
He's making her live through him, remembering the time he promised to her to never let go their story. She might have Died, or it's just a break up, we don't know but it's actually about one of their members who tragically died, and he live through their band now, with shows like "The Gray Chapter"
The music video and song are about (i think) someone Corey Taylor (the man and singer) use to love and he is willing to become the person he loved (which was the blonde girl) in order to be more closer to her
hey man. I really love this channel. I've seen you talk about your alcohol addiction before and I have the same addiction I went to rehab for a different substance last July but now I drink more than I used to its just about 5 out of 7 days a week. your videos want me to go back to rehab I'm scared but I think I should. anyways thank you for what you do man.
+Aaron Hatcher If you think you should go back to rehab, you probably should. It took me about 5 trips to rehab before it CLICKED for me and I've been sober since. Drinking as much as you say you do sounds kinda scary and if you can't do it on your own, getting help is a great idea. Beast of luck my friend- best of luck!
Again, great reaction sir :) Slipknot has done a behind the scenes video for this as well, explaining the reasoning and story behind this song. You should give it a look sometime!
Snuff; last single to be released before death of Paul Gray and departure of Joey Jordison. Corey Taylor plays Snuff live acoustically in memory of Paul. Also: "This is the slow one. It's another personal one. Again, not naming names, it's about someone who helped me through a lot and I thought she felt the same way that I did and then she really let me down. At the same time, it was good that she did, because it was that final push to me figuring out myself. The lyrics are pretty self-explanatory." - Corey.
So i like your reactions a lot. I can only seem to find videos from 2016 though. I wanted to explain this video to you a little bit though. This video fits the song perfectly. The story is about a man and a woman. She left him, when your seeing her in the video it is memories he is seeing. The minds eye if you would. Everything is reminding him of her. His love for her is borderline obsession. She made many promises to him that she did not keep and it messed up his mind. He wants to hate her for it but he can't hate her, so to get her back, he kills his own personality to adopt hers. This way he can not miss her if he is her.
I think it means that when he stabbed himself with the glass and the girl got old, the girl had moved on while he was still in pain and she had long forgotten him. But, he had not forgotten her.
ok... this song is about the singers ex wife.. she left him with thier kids. and he had a real hard time dealing with it. hence all the wierd things going on in the video. its a song about heart ache and loss and trying to let go. like the song says "Angels lie to keep control"
First time seeing the video. What I think is happening is that he promised his wife that he will never let her go. She died, so he went insane so he now has a double personality. One personality is him trying to live as her, the other personality is him chasing her. He's essentially stalking himself.
Hey! I love your videos, especially reactions like these! I would love it if you would react to something by all that remains, maybe specifically "Stand Up."
Hey man, i've been subscribed to you for only a few days but I've managed to watch a great amount of your videos and I l think they are really enjoyable. I have a suggestion. The band is The Ghost Inside and the song is The Great Unknown.
The song has a different meaning than the music video. The song is about Corey Taylor overcoming his alcohol addiction. The video is basically what you said.
+Luana Selena Thank you so much for giving it a shot and liking it! That is very cool of you and I am so glad you did! :) Thank you so much and have a GREAT day!!
You should try reacting to some Sabaton songs if you haven’t already! A few recommendations: Got mitt uns Sparta Carolus Rex To hell and back The lost battalion Smoking snakes resist and bite
IDK how often you check these. But you need to listen to Bobaflex Bury Me With My Guns on. They aren't a mainstream band, but still pretty good. I think you might like it.
jesse mata The way that I always interpreted this song and video was that corey and his partner were very close and in love to the point where she tells him not to let go and or forget- without realising how it will affect him. So then the guy who works the complex is infatuated with how "perfect" the couple are, watching them leave and return together, soon only one returns. One night he sees the woman, he's so suprised to finally see her, jumping to conclusion. corey decided to stay home the night when the girl left, something happened (I think she got killed doing something he told her not to do) and so he misses her so much that he clings to ANYTHING that reminds him of her (cue shoe smelling and drinking from her cup) eventually he starts dressing as her, as that's the only way he can feel like she's still with him is to "be her". the song then is basically him expressing how he's angry at her for leaving, maybe even dying and yet he still adores her. idk that's how I see it
hahaha i when you watch slipknot you have to think it through, everything they do has a meaning(except maybe for eyeless xd) The video is about someone who lost the one he loved, and try to remember her by dressing like her the song is a bit different it is pretty much about that but doesn't say anything about the crossdressing thing On an interesting note this was their late bassist Paul Grey favorite song and know every performance goes dedicated to him, the lead singer even cry one time while he was playing it
His girlfriend is gone and he can't handle it so he cross dresses as her to be close again. It's a story of not being able to let go and compensating in a screwed up way
I love your videos! By all means, react to more music. I would recommend Acid Bath. But I would also like to see you react to other things. Like the animimated short Overwatch: Alive. And various others. Only a suggestion, only if you want too. =3
Aire42 if you are talking about Paul, then you are mistaken. He passed in 2010. This song was recorded in 2008. He's the only member that has passed away.
Please react to some Hollywood undead please, Bullet for something a little "sad" or Everywhere I go for some of their normal songs. I haven't found an uncensored version of the music video though for Everywhere I go.
He promised he would never let go... and he never did...
I am really surprised that no one brought up the obvious- he was that woman, he relived their memories, smell and beauty through crossdressing.
+Riko442 Which makes perfect sense- thank you!
***** You're welcome! Love your vids!
+NearlySeniorCitizen Yetagamer The song was about his first divorce (He is still married to his second wife though!) but i'm not sure about the videp
Carrie Kupferschmid Pretty much exactly what Corey said
this is literally the only reaction Channel that I can stomach because he really does react rather than just giving short responses like that's cool or wow.
Looks like he has multiple personality disorder and is playing the roll of a girl who left him. So he lost his mind and added her to his personas
Indeed. His lost was so much to him, that he had to cross dress to remind him of her. His stalking of her is just him trying to relive that time she left him.
Jewdo Master I like to think that his girlfriend actually died, so then he went crazy and tried to reenact her life by pretending to be her.
Jewdo Master glad we agree lol
Dankus Memus it could be that as well :)
+Dankus Memus
it's about a divorce Corey went through. so the Lady, is Corey's former wife. so she's fine, and she's doing her own thing.
Sometimes when you love someone so much, you start to become them and even surround yourself with anything to keep their memory suspended in time even after their departure.
This song is a breakup song and the video is him wanting her back pretty much. That's what I got from it. I'm not positive though.
Slipknot has been experimenting a lot with their sound. It certainly isn't the first slow song they have ever made and it won't be the last.
Someone who loves someone else so much, it's obsession.
He becomes her to keep her "alive". He promised to never let go...and he didn't.
very disturbing.
On the background and themes of "Snuff", vocalist Corey Taylor said the following: "This is the slow one. It's another personal one. Again, not naming names, it's about someone who helped me through a lot and I thought she felt the same way that I did and then she really let me down.
This is probably my favorite Slipknot Song.
my thoughts: they used to live there together, she left him, he came back and relived memories from their time together.
I love that Clown was the dude behind this! It really shows his creative side. And I think it brought out the acting in Cory.
please react to Through the glass by Stone Sour :)
by the way thanks for reacting to snuff, i've never really liked the video but the song itself is one of my favourites.
+Claudia Underwood The song was awesome! The video was- disturbing :)
It's an incredible video it's such a deep concept i love that they lead singer corey taylor Is the guy in this video he really does a great job getting into the character it's a bit tragic seeing this person so obsessed with a woman he goes to those lengths to feel as if she's still there
I would LOVE to be at a Slipknot concert!
It was in my top 3 best concerts I've ever been to love your channel!
He loved her so much, and was so distraught because he couldn't have her. So since he couldn't have her, he became her..
He's making her live through him, remembering the time he promised to her to never let go their story. She might have Died, or it's just a break up, we don't know but it's actually about one of their members who tragically died, and he live through their band now, with shows like "The Gray Chapter"

You were SILENT sir. LOL. Love Slipknot.
+Jason Stewart Sometimes I have to let my body speak for me :)
The video is essentially about the main character having grief-induced multiple-personality disorder.

There's a behind-the-scenes video for this music video that explains the plot
His lost was so much to him, that he had to cross dress to
remind him of her. His stalking of her is just him trying to relive that
time she left him.
Sorry priceless reaction! And yes! You've got it right!
Again, great reaction sir :) Slipknot has done a behind the scenes video for this as well, explaining the reasoning and story behind this song. You should give it a look sometime!
keep posting reaction video please ! I LOVE how you interpreted the meaning of those songs
I from Brazil, and, i love your videos. :D
Slipknot - My plague.
I always cry when I her this song 😭
Snuff; last single to be released before death of Paul Gray and departure of Joey Jordison.
Corey Taylor plays Snuff live acoustically in memory of Paul.
Also:
"This is the slow one. It's another personal one. if you like this singer there is a song he performs with another aritst. that song is called Wither ft corey taylor by Tech n9ne
I will have to check that out, thank you very much!
I always enjoy your reactions
I think it means that when he stabbed himself with the glass and the girl got old, the girl had moved on while he was still in pain and she had long forgotten him. But, he had not forgotten her.
Wish Paul was still with us
this guy is awesome
Corey Tayor does rock hard!

THE DAY THAT NEVER COMES - METALLICA
Its simple. He just never let go.
React to Slipknot Sic live in Download Festival 2009. I really think you'll enjoy it!
Slipknot has Some more of these soft sounding songs all of wich are very good.
yeah your thought at the end of what it was is pretty much correct.
ok... this song is about the singers ex wife.. she left him with thier kids. and he had a real hard time dealing with it. hence all the wierd things going on in the video. its a song about heart ache and loss and trying to let go. like the song says "Angels lie to keep control"

+John Red That's sorta what I was seeing. Very disturbing video!
The man that looks like a stalker is the lead singer Corey talory

It was written for the bassist, Paul gray, who overdosed on morphine and was like a brother to the singer, Corey Taylor.

Love your videos. Could you please do cradle of filth- cradle to enslaved. Uncensored.
you should react to street spirit-radiohead
the song snuff isn't really about a girl. its about corey over coming his alcoholism. said so in an interview
I do have trouble with symbolism, so if what is happening in a video is not blatantly obvious it is quite possible I will miss it.
That's Killpop. Snuff is indeed about a girl who told him she couldn't deal with his depression and left, then tried to come back
Trash Panda Crew kill pop is about the music industry, corey said in an interview
jesse mata The way that I always interpreted this song and video was that corey and his partner were very close and in love to the point where she tells him not to let go and or forget- without realising how it will affect him. jesse mata snuff is about his ex there's a video about the making of the song
hahaha i when you watch slipknot you have to think it through, everything they do has a meaning(except maybe for eyeless xd)
