I remember stopping at South of the Border for the first time with my parents in the late 50’s. The place was super crowded and had more souvenirs than imaginable. When you got back to your car it had a South of the Border bumper sticker on it. I still stop every time I pass but in 2022 there were only a handful of people and some of the stores closed. I had never stopped at Buc-ee’s, but stopped at Florence, in June, on our trip to Wildwood, after your comments in this video. The store was packed and the bathrooms, gas pumps and snacks were really convenient and better than any other gas station stop. I have to agree with you that there is no reason to stop at South of the Border now, except maybe for nostalgia.
Great job! I've done this drive overnight from NJ (Essex County) over 20 times round trip leaving anywhere from 9PM - 11PM. Ideal departure time for me is 9PM with the goal of arriving at Disney World by 2-3PM. So much about this video I can relate to especially trying to get sleep during the day before departure. It's also tough for me to get some sleep during the day so over the years I learned to just sleep as late as possible. Definitely a good call to skip South of the Border. It's a good idea to pack emergency roadside equipment like flashlights, tire repair/plug kit, portable air compressor, tire pressure gauge, reflective safety vest, some tools, duct tape, etc. Got a flat once but luckily was only 20 minutes into the drive so put the spare on and drove back home.
Hi guys, hope you had a great time in Florida, hope you enjoyed your summer, and I hope all is well with you, great video, til next time 👍🙏❤️😎🐬🌴Bye, I can't wait to see a buckees
Glad to see you were on the road again and in Disneyworld. Can't wait to see your park videos. My youngest son (33 yrs. old) and I just got home yesterday from Wildwood, NJ. We had a great time... "Father/Son Getaway"! Thanks for sharing!
Excellent travel video! Just what i asked for! Still can’t believe how cheap your gas is over there. Makes me so jealous! We literally pay dubbel the price . I can’t wait to watch the next video from the series ! I saw that you posted the next in Disney video right after the travel video. Perfect!
We got lucky. I thought the gas was going to be a lot more expensive but the prices dropped by the time we left. Gas prices in New Jersey are around 3.80 right now.
@@FamilyTimeVlogsFTV did you really followed my question by doing first the roadtrip to disney. And after that the day 1 at disney vlog? Or did you already planned like this to do it differently?
@@jdnrotterdam2150 lol I told you it was a good idea so I used it hahaha! I was going to do segments again but thought it made more sense to follow your advice.
So jelly of your gas prices. Did the trip in late June. Cheapest place we stopped at was $3.99. We also had traffic stopped in SC for a bad accident. Stood still for over an hour
Haha yes I was expecting to pay a lot more in gas. There is always some kind of accident on 95 every time I drive it, an hour stand still is the worst.
Just watched the new James Bond movie and you are a dead ringer for the one villain in the movie , watch the beginning of the guy on the motorcycle and that could be your twin !
@@FamilyTimeVlogsFTV it’s just to much for me. Going I stopped in savannah Georgia for the night and left in the morning but I was just Beasley zombie driving lol I nearly didn’t make it even with the stop. Going home we hit a typhoon in Georgia all way to SC and it was white knuckles lol nearly pulled over it was literally whiteout conditions. Buy the time I got to NJ I was like a drunken sailor getting out for a bathroom break lol. I did make several stops for gas and red bull but it didn’t seem too help me. Not to mention dodging all the truck tires on the road and speed daemons 90mph lol. It’s not for me I appreciate you’re advice it was a great help to me I knew what to expect but it was worse then I thought. Not any of your fault. Your advice is very helpful and is appreciated. But it’s over for me lol. One and done. I’ll fly or train. I would go even as a passenger lol 🤣😉. Thanks for asking. Best of luck. And I enjoy your videos 👍🏻. Thank you.
