      Honestly, even before that, with The Flight of Dragons in 1982. It was based loosely on two books (The Dragon and the George circa 1976 & a speculative natural history book of the same name as the movie circa 1979) & I think that was my first experience with books/media talking about dragons in a more scientific manner; despite the high fantasy setting of the story & the movie being animated. In my opinion, the dragons in this show are very distinguishable, I think the show has done an incredible job in the variety of characteristics in each dragons design. & I also don't agree with Arrax & Moondancer looking the same. They don't look remotely the same imo. Opinions?

    • @trevscinema
      @trevscinema  27 дней назад

      I definitely agree with your thoughts here. While I can see where their argument is coming from, the production put a lot of work into building the personality and look of each dragon to overcome this. To create the dragons as distinct characters, they focused on size, shape, and color. Plus, I feel that tying the dragons to their riders also helps the viewers learn to differentiate them as the show progresses.

      @@Lh-8777 you make an excellent point, large wingbeats can be pretty taxing energy wise, so it makes sense Vhagar just soars through the air without much movement, though I noticed Caraxes does it when Daemon leaves for Harrenhall, so it’s probably something they only animate when the dragons are trying to gain altitude

    Vahgar is impossible just for the weight

  • @duyle557
    @duyle557 Месяц назад

    The dragons in the show, although cool looking, are far from being scientifically accurate. Their wing design was based off of birds, narrow and long which would make it impossible for web-base wings to glide. If they flap their wings they can only go up, not forward. Bird wings are unique in that each feather is an individual wing in itself so more surface area will generate a greater difference in air pressure allowing lift. All scientific web-wing animals like bats and pterosaurs need more surface area to move forward so the skin needs to run down the body and attach to the hind limbs and tail like modern day bats. Even a human flying squirrel suit use this same principle to glide so no, these dragons will fall face first if they attempt flight.

      @jacobcox4565 Месяц назад

      @@heshangunarathna3262 There is actually a movie from 1982, titled Flight of Dragons, that made up a really cool scientific reason to explain dragon flight and fire breath. The dragons essentially eat a certain type of rock that makes hydrogen gas when mixed with their stomach acid. The hydrogen fills up air sacs within the dragons and make them lighter than air. The dragons descend by expelling the hydrogen through their mouths, which gets ignited into fire by a small organ within the dragons' mouths that produce electricity.

    • @trevscinema
      @trevscinema  Месяц назад +10
